  1. Chris Jericho just completely owned an entire panel of guests on Nancy Grace. That was seriously the best thing I've seen all week.
  2. This is really getting ridiculous. Geraldo Rivera was just on O'Reilly and actually said that Nancy Benoit and Sherri Martel died on the same day (which is not true), that they were both linked to Kevin Sullivan and that we may be looking at a triple or quadruple murder. I shit you not.
  3. Some guy at DVDVR who works in advertising stated that Subway wants the spots with John Cena pulled because of this. Minor, unconfirmed and unsurprising news, but still interesting.
  4. Very good little article, which might be an interesting read for baseball fans. http://www.nysun.com/article/57511
  5. Annnnnnnd even more. http://www.tmz.com/2007/06/28/benoits-doc-...tion-practices/
  6. A little more information: http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Death_of_Nancy...ody_being_found
  7. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS??? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,287194,00.html
  8. One of a kind indeed.
  9. I'm pretty sure most of the guys who used to live in Atlanta have now moved to Tampa. I can't think of anyone still living in Atlanta off the top of my head. The only ones that come to mind are guys that either never got signed by WWE or had short runs, like Lex Luger and Kevin Nash. And I'm thinking Nash either moved or has another home in Phoenix, but I'm not sure.
  10. State and federal agents. Oh boy.
  11. True. My point hinges on that information. I just think it's worth looking into the two incidents more if possible, instead of writing them off as mere coincidence.
  12. Completely agreed, and that is also my concern. The toxicology report are critical, but the story still goes beyond that. As has been mentioned, if Benoit was clean at the time of his death, he still could have acted out in withdrawal. Benoit being drug free on his last wellness exam means nothing unless he has never done any drugs at all, which we absolutely know to not be true. This is a ridiculously complex story that keeps getting more and more complex, and it deserves far more research and attention to detail than it is really getting from the MSM.
  13. Finding a reason and finding an excuse shouldn't be confused. Regardless of whether or not Benoit has post-concussion syndrome, his actions are not somehow less evil. If he had the syndrome, he developed it because of choices he made where he purposely put himself at risk. In the end, it all comes back to choices Chris Benoit made with his body and choices he made to murder his family, *even if* PCS caused him to go insane. However, there is still value in doing this. There have been two suicides in wrestling in the last four months. Both of them were from wrestlers who had history of taking unprotected head shots, and both of them hung themselves. This is a pattern I don't think anyone would like to see continue. If the brains of Mike Awesome and Chris Benoit can be compared to each other, and it is determined that both wrestlers were suffering from PCS, that is hugely valuable. PCS research, from my understanding, is still in its infancy. Having Benoit's brain examined, and the results of the research, could increase the available information on PCS and could potentially (potentially) cause changes for the better in the long-term. Wrestlers who are still living and have a history of concussions could be examined, treated with anti-depressants and new therapies could be developed. I realize that to a degree that this involves wishful thinking, and I realize that doing this will attract misguided and socially stunted wrestling fans who are looking for a way to justify enjoying the post-match celebration at Wrestlemania XX. But there's no controlling that, and the greater good shouldn't be sacrificed just to avoid misunderstanding of the original intent. This has nothing to do with justifying the actions of Chris Benoit, and everything to do with making an honest attempt to find as much of the truth as possible.

  15. Also: Bryan Alvarez, Figure 4 Weekly, 02/26/2007
  16. I never heard anything about the autopsy unfortunately. He and Benoit both wrestled an extremely physical style where they took lots of hard bumps on their heads and necks, and both took their share of unprotected chairshots.
  17. Agreed. And someone should alert the media that Benoit is the second wrestler to hang himself this year.
  18. Also, I am wondering if Meltzer knew about the 2003 petition from Nancy prior to it just coming out. Chris Benoit was a friend of his. Did he shy away from reporting it for some reason? Did he report at the time on Benoit's arrest in 1998?
  19. The media is really dropping the ball on this. They are so wrapped up in the ROIDRAGEROIDRAGEROIDRAGEWASITROIDRAGE talking point that they are missing the bigger story, and are making WWE look better than is really deserved. There's been almost no discussion of post-concussion syndrome, the wrestling schedule, no investigation into other wrestler deaths, no verifying of facts presented by WWE and other sources ... it has for the most part, sadly, all been very sensationalistic and narrow-minded. They are attempting to make this as simple and easily explainable as possible, and seem to be taken by surprise anytime a colleague of Benoit's suggests that he was a mild-mannered, easy going person. I would love for someone to ask Vince how he can say Benoit was traditionally very mild-mannered, considering that he once threw a young wrestler out of the locker room for moving another wrestler's things so he could sit down and change, or that he made another young wrestler do so many hindu squats that he was rumored to be pissing muscle tissue, or that he never saw his kids from his first marriage and basically left them to run off with another married woman. Benoit was respected in wrestling, yes, but they are really taking everything told to them by those they interview at face value, and it's unfortunate. The truth is, while he would have been considered one of the "nice guys" in wrestling prior to this tragedy, he had his share of skeletons. And aside from Nancy's 2003 petition, and very slight (very slight) mention of his DUI in 1998, there hasn't been much attempt to get insight into his personal character.
  20. Typically, yes, it is through the mother's genes. But there are also cases of drug cocktails in the male sperm creating the disorder.
  21. Some really fantastic insight into Fragile X Syndrome: http://www.pwtorch.com/artman/publish/article_20689.shtml
  22. Lord. Geraldo Rivera should never be allowed to speak. He suggested that Benoit breaking Sabu's neck was not an accident, but rather ROID RAGE.
  23. Poor Animal. The guy was on MSNBC and was trying to make a point about the tough schedule and how more time off is needed and kept getting interrupted to talk about ROID RAGE. Animal said, "Roid rage is a term typically used for a violent, aggressive, unexplained outburst. In this case, over the course of 48 hours, you couldn't label it as roid rage. That is stretching what the term roid rage really means." He then mentioned that he and Benoit were recently discussing the need for more time off. Animal also mentioned that he's seen roid rage many times and it's a case of the user losing his temper for five minutes and then apologizing later. Animal then ripped into Bill O'Reilly (who, for the record, blamed Nancy, saying she should have known better than to associate herself with someone dangerous).
