  1. We could. His point is that Snuka Jr. probably isn't capable of doing a top rope splash.
  2. The coming out doesn't bother me as much as the long editorials where he's only arguing with himself. It would be different if he was responding to something people actually cared enough about to talk about in detail, but he's not. Take some indy dates, work hard on improving your weaknesses and try to get some international tours. If you do all of that, are getting praised by a lot of people as being really good and still can't get a job, you might have a case. Until then, you don't.
  3. And not a very good one. He should have gone all Sean Stasiak and privately taped conversations, then used them as blackmail later.
  4. His new gimmick isn't that of a homosexual, it's more of a really bad hipster act.
  5. This is pathetic. Just shut up, Chris. No one has cared about you in years.
  6. That's the exact punishment they used to do for guys who had drug issues but were in top storylines in the early-mid 90s.
  7. It took a while for it to really sink in, but as I watched more footage, I started to understand the style, the rules and the differences much better. The Japanese and American styles are basically the same as far as rules, selling, etc., but it's totally different in Mexico, and I couldn't grasp it at first.
  8. This begs the next question. Aside from Angle, who are the potential challengers for Rey? JBL, Benoit and Booker I guess, but they've all been in the midcard so long it may seem a little weird. Mark Henry just did a job for Undertaker, but he may still be a decent choice since Rey can get a win back. Rey/Taker is a match I'd love to see, but I doubt it will happen soon. They really need to do the next draft lottery sooner than later, and actually make it benefit Smackdown for once.
  9. I'll lock the other topic. Looks like we had the same idea at the same time. And yeah, I think everyone thinks the same thing on what this is probably about, but of course, no one knows for sure.
  10. From Meltzer: Big news. I don't have to say what I think this is related to, since everyone else is probably thinking the same thing.
  11. Considering that Tomko was wrongly tagged with a he-can't-work label when he's actually much better than someone like Snitsky who had lots of ironic net love, I think he made the right decision for himself short term. He'll come back eventually and be given a fair shake. All guys his size are.
  12. A Cena heel turn won't work because he'll just start doing heelish things that necessitated his face turn in the first place. They have a goldmine with this that can force them to completely re-evaluate the way they look at characters and create a new concept based around that to usher in a new boom period, so I'm hoping that until they figure out what that is and how to make it happen, they don't change a thing.
  13. I actually got the opposite feel from the event as kjh, as Cena and Misterio really appeared to be two of the three biggest stars in the company, with HHH obviously being the third. No one else had entrances anything like those three -- it foreshadowed Rey winning the title in his case. This was a case where I felt like they toned down on the nostalgia, as Edge got more out of the NHB match than I think Foley will at this stage, there was no Austin or Hogan segment where they got to beat up Simon Dean or Stevie Richards or someone like that and Shawn/Vince was pretty self-contained.
  14. Not sure about the last part, but yes, Akeem was intended to be a parody of Dusty Rhodes.
  15. Because he's insecure.
  16. I know Ric Flair tried to beat him up at NYR back in '05 because he supposedly tried to make David Flair his rentboy.
  17. I would agree that the reaction Cena is getting has nothing to do with his talent in the ring. Batista is no better than Cena, and he doesn't get that reaction. The difference is that Batista doesn't seem like he's playing a part.
  18. She then followed by sniffing her fingers, and yes, she actually sold it. I know it sounds like I'm joking, since I'm focusing so much on that particular five seconds, but aside from one botched move toward the end of the match, Trish/Mickie was the best WWE women's match ever, by a healthy margin.
  19. I hope they realize that their reaction is the *exact* reaction that finish was designed to get, and they're really outsmarting themselves if they think otherwise.
  20. Again, I should point out that Mickie James countered the Stratusfaction by jamming her fingers in Trish's vagina.
  21. HHH is a terrible heel. Cena is a terrible face. Since there are only a few people on the roster these days that actually know or care how to play the role of a face or heel, maybe it would be best to play to strengths elsewhere. Again, it's late night, caffeine induced ideas, so I don't know, but it sure seems awesome right now.
  22. The shades of gray thing is a little bit different, though, just because it went so overboard with the sports entertainment aspect that it overwhelmed the wrestling aspect. In any other sport, every athlete or team has hardcore supporters and people who hate them. WWE should encourage that type of loyalty and try to push that atmosphere as much as they possibly can. Regarding Trish/Mickie, I think they should have known what would happen there. Trish refused to be MJ's lesbian lover, of course the male heterosexual crowd is going to shit on that. MJ's counter of the Stratusfaction by jamming her fingers in Trish's vaginal area may be the greatest thing I've ever seen.
  23. Maybe this really a blessing in disguise, though. Seriously, everything in WWE is so stale, and crowds these days are just cheering those who they like and booing those they dislike. Maybe WWE should start creating more ambiguous characters and encourage individual fans to make up their minds about everyone instead of pushing a group mentality. Less bias from the announcers and less angling from the company, and make a "you decide" marketing slogan or something. It certainly paves the way for more interesting personalities and great atmosphere. Or maybe it's just one of those things that seems like an awesome idea late at night and I'll be embarrassed I typed it in the morning. I don't know.
  24. To continue my multi-post point, fans who wanted HHH to win tonight really need to be taking medicine for bipolar disorder, considering they're largely the same group of people who have been begging Vince to cool it on the pusHHH for years. Cena sucks, but he's dealing with it as well as anyone really could. I just hope both he and the company has some ideas up their sleeves for the next few months to turn the backlash into an advantage instead of keeping it a disadvantage.
  25. It's almost admirable just to see them so determined to create a new star, considering how long we went with Vince determined not to make any new stars. In a weird way, there's a charm to the ambiguity of Cena as champ, just because WWE has been trying to force feed guys in such cookie cutter fashion for years now, and it's a fresh point of view, even if it is totally by accident. I really think that in many ways, Cena getting all the boos is him paying for the company's sins of the last five years or so. Again, the finish of HHH/Cena took guts. If Cena retains again at Backlash, Vince truly does have balls the size of grapefruits.
