I think Ed has only recently seen CageSideSeats. So how did he even know Jon ran it before me? (And I was referring to what he says I've "constantly" been saying on top of his claims about the site)

Ed Laredo lied about me again. Must be a day ending in y.

"Shawn did something different in every match." wut Rockers not being in Bryan's top 5 tag teams shocks me. EDIT: Ay Loss, Bryan is saying that Michaels' back injury wasn't as bad as it was played up publicly. "They said that one bump could cripple him and it wasn't that bad." Oy Bryan on HHH-Michaels street fight "That is one of the great psychological matches of all time."

His whole "I love hardcover books and bought a Kindle because I love reading!" shtick sure seems more and more like a front every day. By the way, WRT Dave's UFC coverage: Besides bringing up that specific match being kinda random (Kerry used that as his entrance music for at least 9 years), the entrance music is barely audible on the TV show with the match. It's one of the only (if not THE only) WCCW matches where WWE hasn't edited the entrances out on 24-7/Classics On Demand.

Does Dave really not have a DVR?

WCW released another one (about an hour long) that I think covered best of Starrcade '83-'90.

Sorry but I find these posts unbearable. You carry on like taste in wrestling is this completely objective thing. You are making sweeping claims about how much Bryan has actually watched with limited/little basis. As far as what he's watched, it's been clear for a while, but now we know he never saw a legendary match that's readily available on VHS and DVD until this past week. As far as the Michaels stuff, think about it: If someone never saw as much of the older stuff, of course they'd think Michaels was the best ever because he was the one guy left doing certain little touches that older veterans did, even if he usually wasn't very good at it post-comeback. Look at Dave: He's a Michaels fan but not close to as extreme as Bryan, who thought that Michaels' performances on Raw in the first 1/4 of 2007 made up the best run of any wrestler in history on the best run of wrestling TV in history. Dave likes Michaels, but he would never make a claim like that.

Actually now that I think of it, the 12/80 MSG probably wasn't taped because Morales-Patera has always been conspicuous by its absence on the IC Title Coliseum Video.

I'm pretty sure he watches it, but he doesn't have the time to write it up most weeks due to Yahoo committments.

There was also an incomplete version (albeit enough to decide HOLY SHIT THIS IS AWESOME) on the PWI Lords of the Ring tape, which was a lot more common than both versions of the Starrcade compilation. And you're right: That was the holy grail of stuff in video stores. When I'd stay with my grandparents, I'd always rent lots of wrestling videos because they had a TON of video stores nearby, and I was in awe when I found that (even more so when found out it was on *2 tape*) and watched it. I had already seen Starrcade '86 because my local Blockbuster had it (and I eventually bought that copy), but it was still awesome, and I absolutely loved the dog collar match more than anything else. But yeah, it seems pretty out there that someone who has written about wrestling for a living for as long as he has, been watching as long as he has (and he was already in his early teens at that point), etc. would have never seen that match until the last week.

Other shows that didn't air have had matches surface, so I wouldn't be shocked if it was taped.

This predates the affair angle and actual affair. At this point they're just stiffing each other to get it over.

And he was some sort of radical Russo supporter before that.

Why did they run Flair-Funk in a cage after the blowoff, to make up for the Texas Death Match not happening due to Funk's arm infection?
-
They actually ran Steele-Davis in a cage as a headliner in major markets, including a Meadowlands show.

I'll give prizes to anyone who sics him on them.

Plenty of current and former WWE writers are WGA members, but WWE is considered sports programming, so they don't fall under WGA scrutiny and that's why the strike didn't effect them. At least some of the travelling production crew isn't in-house, as Dave Meltzer often talks about them doing mainstream network sports broadcasts on the weekend.

"He looks like Ron Simmons...but...BIGGER than Ron Simmons!"
-
Has he said anything like that or are you just saying that based on the Sonnen cheerleading?
-
Yo! Kizer: Sonnen's claims at CSAC hearing could cost him

If it was the case I THINK it was overruled at some point though I could be wrong.

Our weird child pornography laws are stated in an incredibly vague manner, open to vast interpretation. Basically, it means whatever the authorities want it to mean. Some jurisdictions have even ruled that pics of legal adults who look underage can be counted as kiddy porn. It doesn't even have to be a photograph of a real person, drawings have been ruled to count as well. Technically, any pictorial representation of anything which could be interpreted as a child can be counted as porn under some of these statutes. (I'm not using this to defend what sounds like a damn creepy F4 thread, just pointing out that our laws are very fucking strange on this topic.) Pretty sure that's not the case.
-
For what it's worth, the "graphic or simulated lascivious exhibition of the genitals or pubic area" part of US child pornography law applies even if clothed so if there's anything along those lines at Figure 4Chan, they're fucked.

So what's this I hear about Mike Coughlin falsely claiming that Jonathan Snowden said that B.J. Penn has thrown fights?
