They definitely did the poison reveal (via Schiavone IIRC) but never followed up on it. -

As a reminder: James Mark Cornette + James E. Barnett = James E. Cornette. -
Just remembered one while watching Raw: Overly verbose references to standard gimmick matches, like "5 on 5 tag team elimination match" or "2 on 1 handicap match," when the less detailed versions used to be the norm.

Why yes, I did decide to do a blog post about this.

Today, the coming out of David Yost (original Blue Ranger on Power Rangers) has been getting covered all over the place, and his stories (repeatedly being called "faggot," producers holding meetings with the other cast members to ask about his sexuality...) made me think of the various Kanyon stuff we discussed when he died, and how that wouldn't happen in "the real world." In recent times, a gay actor being so heavily harassed on set sounds pretty out of the ordinary (especially in light of Isiah Washington's exile), which makes me wonder if Power Rangers' non-union status attracted a more unsavory element that's more like a pro wrestling locker room. The show was pretty notorious bad relations with the actors, like immediately firing 3 of the original castmembers for asking for a raise when they realized how much less than union scale they were making (and not even bothering them to keep them around to write them out, instead using stand-ins lit in silhouette combined with some really bizarre dubbing), and this article that I just found an excerpt of:

I was gonna mention head injuries but forgot. He was having neurological issues over a decade ago (forgetting how to get home from the airport), so ...

Jingus is totally right. Foley has been really, really odd ever since he started to lose his hardcore fanbase, both in terms of perception of his work and other stuff like the "Why yes, I AM platonic friends with Christy Canyon and Melina, let me tell you all about it!" weirdness. It seems like he really prided himself on being a great performer who got lots of critical praise while having a great rapport with fans (When I was a kid, he made sure to send me an autographed photo a good 18 months or so after I sent a fan letter of some sort), and now most of that's gone. He can't have good matches anymore, his promos have been iffy for awhile, and now he's floundering whatever the hell TNA is supposed to be. Fans didn't overwhelmingly side with him when he left his WWE color commentator job. His third book was largely ignored and those who did give it attention noted how out-there his ideas were (Terry Funk bites Vince during a Kiss My Ass Club segment?). As some of you know, I used to be a huge, huge fan of his, but he's just insufferable nowadays.

You're right, I misread it.

Interesting to see Dave openly hoping that Nowinski slays WWE.

WWE fires back against Chris Nowinski courtesy of "wrestling journalist David Bixenspan" (LOL).

I have no desire to hear Ed talk. How is the Dave stuff?

Pretty sure they took out both the fangs and the venom sacks. Whatever teeth the snake had were soft.

Does the ROH site even carry ads? The WON item I read implied that somehow the site got infested and they didn't know why.

Look what I found in the old thread about the 1/3/08 Impact script leaking...

He does freelance for them a little but yeah, it's been a decade. Also: LOLRyder.

Why didn't he shake HHH's hand? Didn't wanna impose while he was on crutches?

Maybe I'm remembering the wrong guy. Bix - was Rose that young fan from the late 90s who didn't seem quite all there? John "Shannon Rose started his career in pro wrestling at the age of 12 with a public access cable show that ran for 7 years in Tampa along with working for Championship Wrestling from Florida. Gordon Solie and Dusty Rhodes gave Shannon his start as a ring announcer. 16 years later Shannon remains "The Voice of Florida Wrestling" and has worked for NWA, ECW, and many other wrestling promotions. He also has managed, wrestled, refereed, and has run a wrestling hotline for the St. Petersburg, Times." I don't remember any ridiculous lies as much as him being slightly less abrasive Blake Norton type.

Heyman's description of the Yamma pitch is hilarious. Paraphrased: "The guy who changed music with King Biscuit AND started UFC is back and Live Nation's putting up the money! Holy shit, a real UFC competitor! Who's in your first main event?" "Tank Abbott" *Paul gestures tapping out*

Good to see that WWE's Canada hate-boner extends to Linda.

The authorities!

Chops remind people too much of Ric Flair, so they're banned, except if you're Oriental. Then it's ok.

Loss and I were talking about this on IM and he noticed a good one in addition to the buzzwords like medical facility/physicality/championship/antagonist/WWE Universe/Superstars/Divas etc: When a heel is asked a question by an interviewer, he always repeats the question: Interviewer: "Can you explain your actions?" Superstar: "Explain my actions?" So, what else?
