  1. And wrestling! Also: Lawler was awesome.
  2. And he's wearing a"We [star of David] Colt!" shirt!
  3. Lawler beat Flair by countout in their TV match.
  4. The pharmacy business is the same thing as pro wrestling. - The goal is to make money. OK, it's business first, caring for customers second, keeping proper records second, I don't know, but it's all the same thing, but at the end whether it's sport or entertainment, it is number one a business and if you think it's anything but a business and you're running it, you'll be out of business, that's a reality and anyone who doesn't understand that, doesn't understand the first thing about this industry. - Like pro wrestling, pharmacies are filled with dangerous narcotics. - Like pro wrestlers, pharmaceuticals are regularly repackaged to make more money. - Pharmacy techs are to pharmacists as Hollywood writers are to wrestling bookers. - Pharmacists giving flu shots is not unlike WWE expanding its profit streams with merchandise, video on demand, etc. - Various pharmacy chains have expanded nationally, taking over some local pharmacies and driving others out of business, just like the WWF did with the other territories. - Wal-Mart has exclusives in many towns, similar to the arena wars between the WWF and WCW. - Pharmacist and pro wrestler are both jobs that requiring expensive schooling. - Like wrestlers in some states, pharmacists have to be licensed. - Pharmacies have programs in place to make sure that counterfeit medications don't get into stores. WWE works with MarkMonitor to fight merchandise counterfeiters. Pro wrestling as a whole also has Kendall Windham. - Like some TNA wrestlers, as well as Shane Douglas and Justin Credible, pharmacists work in retail stores. - Pharmacies have magazine sections and usually carry at least one wrestling magazine. Some carry WWE and/or TNA action figures. - Many supermarkets have pharmacies. Thanksgiving has generated a lot of money for both grocery stores and pro wrestling. Also, Steve Austin once beat up Booker T in a supermarket and JAPW ran shows in a converted A&P. - Joe Malenko is a licensed pharmacist. - Many pro wrestlers who dealt drugs have been referred to as pharmacists. They are to backyard wrestlers as pharmacists are to pro wrestlers. - Like customers of pharmacies, wrestlers like Ric Flair walk the aisles. - Some pharmacists work to develop future medications similar to how some wrestlers develop future stars in FCW. - Some wrestlers take niacin and/or aspirin before blading. Both were probably purchased from a pharmacy. - As with UFC Heavyweight Champions, the majority of customers of certain pharmacies are also pro wrestlers. That's no coincidence.
  5. IIRC the story was that Kerry had an itch, forgot he had the blade taped to his finger, scratched the itch, and...yeah.
  6. TNA management should be proud. Seriously, these guys are the biggest fuck up of their generations. So pathetic. This is a good illustration of the differences between the two promotions. Something like this would get you fired or at least suspended in WWE; in TNA they'll likely get a push. Matt was in WWE at the time but I get the feeling they weren't aware of it since it was on his pay site. To be fair, there were plenty of publicly available YouTube videos where Matt was clearly messed up on pills before they even suspended him. This wasn't something they nipped in the bud. Yeah, but being messed up on pills wasn't the only thing he was doing.

  8. It's members only, too. Dave has turned into Gene Okerlund, which is so hypocritical that it's pathetic.
  9. I think the video was after Hardy left, probably after the bust and Punk's promo that made fun of it. I don't quite get why someone would, while high, publicly brag about how awesome they are for taking lots of drugs after being arrested on drug charges.
  10. I had been wanting to see that. Pretty pathetic, especially since both Hardys are completely wasted and Jeff's actually bragging about his drug-taking. What Raven thing are you talking about?
  11. It's happened several times before when WWE does those kind of shots and it never gets picked up outside of wrestling forums. She'll be safe.
  12. Frowning Girl hates The Miz.
  13. Lita mentioned the latter in her book. It was something along the lines of "Taker is your friend who you know backstage and hang out with sometimes. The Undertaker is the on-screen superstar."
  14. Yes.
  15. LOLSonnen http://www.cagesideseats.com/2010/11/17/18...estosterone-use As far as the last few posts in this thread in Sept, I spoke to Dodd today, and while I didn't really learn anything to add to my post at CSS, but he told me that Sonnen initially listed no medications, talked to him, and then amended the form.
  16. I asked Gross for a clarification on Twitter. *crosses fingers*
  17. Since he didn't address the idea of a repeat at all, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and guess that he meant that a live airing should be added to the tape delay, as opposed to replacing it. It's not like Spike has any major programming on Saturday afternoons. Same idea that people had with the Olympics in January: Air live events online and/or on the NBC cable channels with the Dick Ebersol Dramatic Reality TV version staying in prime time since that's when most people want to/will be able to see the coverage. If he means that it should be the only broadcast, then Dave is right, albeit still ridiculously misguided about Gross for covering MMA from a regular sportswriter's point of view.
  18. Having not seen the article, did Gross say that the European shows on Spike should only air live or that they should air live and on tape delay like they do on PPV? I don't see a problem with the latter option.
  19. Bumping after close to 4 years because I'd like to find this.
  20. http://www.cagesideseats.com/2010/11/13/18...cmahon-campaign Rovert loved this so much that now I'll start a new thread.
  21. I'll just put this here instead of starting a new thread: Me and Keith talk with Irv Muchnick about the campaign. Edit: Since Rovert liked it so much I'll start a new thread.
  22. Oh, by the way, if we make a "Is X pro wrestling" Gordy list thing it should really be The Epic Beard Man List or The Billy Mitchell List since those are the most...something examples.
  23. Also, they didn't offer just any big name UFC fighter 7 figures for a WM main event. They offered it to Brock Lesnar. They would've done the same thing with any ex-wrestler who became a bigger star in another industry. Since pro wrestlers rarely become more famous elsewhere, they used Jesse Ventura within a year of his election as MN governor, and have been after Dwayne Johnson to do anything since he's become a full-time actor, the offer doesn't prove anything. The same thing would've happened if his football career was a success, is that more proof that the NFL is actually the same thing as pro wrestling? Let's see: - Many, many top wrestlers have been football players. - XFL players ended up in the NFL. - Both featured great promos by Ernie Ladd. - Both have a concussion problem. - Both a steroid problem. - Both feature men in tights. - Both inflate attendance figures to make them seem more impressive. - Both have musical guests at their biggest annual event. - Both are covered on SBNation blogs. - You could probably fight one country in the eastern hemisphere that thinks they're the same thing. - Both featured two-sport athletes, like Bo Jackson and Bob Holly. - Both feature more Samoans per capita than the general population. EXACTLY THE FUCKING SAME, FUCKERS. P.S. Phil, please C&P Dylan's post at Figure 4chan if you haven't already.
  24. I heart Dylan.
  25. IIRC Dundee also said that there were a lot of "legit" shows that were so unwatchable that they were never aired (and sometimes re-done with the "workers").
