  2. Ellie Hart won the wrongful death case for WWE by faxing McDevitt the plaintiff's entire case file after her mother left it on her desk, irreparably fucking things up. Bozell blatantly defamed WWE by blatantly lying about which sponsors he got to pull out as well as the facts of the case whered Lionel Tate murdered Tiffany Eunick. And then admitted that he did. It doesn't strike me as an especially difficult case from a layman's perspective, thought the size of the settlement is impressive.
  3. That's the truth. You definitely weren't going to see Elastica on any other wrestling shows.

    Jericho's return ...

Well, that changed. And as of last night's SD, Undertaker's voice is higher.
  5. Chris Hero was HWA trained (he was working beforehand but his initial trainer wasn't legit). Was Collyer HWA trained or did he just wrestle there a lot? I thought he was a Malenko trainee.
  6. Matt Farmer posted this at WC:
  7. http://www.f4wonline.com/content/view/6432/105/ The tickets are still being bought so the promotion still gets their money, but if this happens more with more events, could it hurt fan goodwill to the point that they'll stop spending money on other stuff sold by the promotion? Will there be less fans in the building and thus less fans buying merchandise? This could have some interesting repurcussions. Also, one of the posters here with a legal background needs to explain how Ticketmaster buying tickets from themselves before the onsale to resell at 4x face value is legal. Is it more of an anti-trust issue than something small-scale?
  8. I basically echo Cornette's opinion: The Condrey version was better as a heat drawing, ticket selling, (semi-)main event team and the Lane version was better as an entertaining mid-card team.
  9. Hell, WCW planted white models in the Center Stage Theatre crowd in the early '90s because they didn't like having so many black fans on camera.
  10. Take a look at what I just found.
  11. Dave making fun of Ryder will never get old. Bob Ryder isn't even a better reporter than Rajah.
  12. I was always under the impression that Holly's neck injury was an accident, and that it was Holly's fault. Holly sandbagged Brock on a powerbomb, and Brock dropped him, Holly fell on his head and suffered the neck injury. Mike remembers it better. Holly sandbagged Lesnar on the powerbomb (as he is known to do to younger wrestlers), Brock tried to do the move anyway, and ended up spiking Holly.
  13. Wrestlers are generally responsible for their gear, to the point that Honkey Tonk Man was basically told "we're making your character an Elvis impersonator with an $8,000 jumpsuit, pay up" (there was zero Elvis influence in Calgary & Vancouver aside from the haircut, with Farris saying that he modeled the character after "Schneider" from "One Day At A Time").
  14. Don't forget that Flair had originally been told he could miss the show.
  15. Eric Bischoff posted this on his blog:
  16. If you doubt his toughness Bix, go up and test him. You know that wasn't my point. His experience w/ trainees, younger guys, etc. is cheapshotting and sandbagging them. That makes him a coward. Is he physically tougher than the average guy, or maybe even the average wrestler? I'm sure. That doesn't make him a good trainer or anything.
  17. Random question: How many misspelled title belts have there been? Maryland Championship Wrestling had the "Crusierweight" Title. The LPWA had multiple "Womem's" titles. Any others?
  18. Also what makes Holly so extra "tough," cheapshotting and sandbagging trainees and younger wrestlers who trusted him with their safety?
  19. I believe that this was one of several periods where they weren't actually running shows. Verne paid Hennig to work Memphis.
  20. Yes. Shane Douglas has said that his lawyer told him that it would be malpractice to tell him to sign his contract.
  21. From WWE's latest 10-Q filing w/ the SEC... Levy is presumably Raven. This could end up being a very interesting story.
  22. I used to have an issue from '96 or '97 of a TV industry trade magazine when WCW broke that rule about adding shows with 2 page ad declaring them as #1 in a zillion different demographics. I have heard in the past that the wrestling companies were still allowed to claim the combined rating %age itself but not a ranking from the combined number.
  23. ... If just for Lance's.
  24. Only in Irv's mind.
  25. Don't forget the whole "Imagine that I'm Thteven Thpielberg" part of the spiel, which may have been even better. I'm actually inclined to believe the story about David Crockett nailing the 2x4 to the wall. Granted, the angle would've been horrible and bombed anyway (which they didn't discuss and often gets ignored) but it makes sense as to why there was a non-gimmicked portion of the wall for Uncle Fred to trip over. I liked when during the "Bad-asses" show where somebody brought up Adrian Street, mentioning that some people would be surprised how tough he was because of his gimmick, only for J.R. to get REALLY indignant asking "WHY? WHY? Because he was supposed to be gay? Gay guys can't be tough?" as Pat sits there with an "Umm, I don't think that's what he meant..." look on his face. Also, the cock line + Dusty's telling of the Shockmaster story = a much better episode that people made the gimmicks one out to be.
