  1. "Eddy Guerrero was clean when he died" needs a space on the bingo card.
  2. Signature was specifically selling bodybuilding drugs, I believe. Plus I don't understand using an internet doctor/pharmacy for non-anabolic steroids, on top of the "why are stars this big using Signature" part.
  3. Tazz. He hurt Tazz. Maybe even twice. I never read this anywhere reputable, and if it's true, then, well, see above about the intentional potato shots.
  4. I really hate the talking point that safer wrestling would suck because the strikes would look bad. That's bullshit. Just learn to throw good working strikes.
  5. I really don't get why that level of star would use an internet doctor/pharmacy.
  6. And on a purely 24/7 related note, (These were shown during the newest Legends roundtable)
  7. Definitely. In fact, GCW/WCW (TBS, expanding anyway) and Southwest (USA), the 2 promotions with strong weekly cable shows (the WWF was on USA for house shows only, and while their weekly TV was on WWOR, a superstation at the time, it wasn't as big as TBS nationally) were starting to work together in '83 so they could combine their powers to run super-loaded shows nationally, but when Joe Blanchard fell behind on his payments to USA and ran the manure angle, opening the door for the WWF to take over that slot. The USA slot was then used brilliantly by Vince McMahon in a Trojan Horse move, as he became the other promoters' best friend by making the new show "All-American Wrestling" and showcasing other groups stars such as Hulk Hogan...to get them over nationally for when he snatched them up. The writing was on the wall going back to WTBS becoming a superstation and Los Angeles wrestling on SIN (now Univision) in the '70s, but there was a big play right before Vince's.
  8. ...................................................? I've got nothing. I mean seriously, what? I get the feeling you're trying to troll someone in relation to the Mid-South deal but I have no idea what about and why Wrestling Death Apologist Bingo led to that.
  9. "Work on your upper-body development" is still wrestling business code for "get on the gas." It's possible that the intention of the "get something more flattering" comment was that if he didn't want to use steroids, to develop a gimmick that would allow him to wear a shirt.
  10. The Lawler excuse was transparently phony, as plenty of WWE talent has appeared on Hogan Knows Best.
  11. http://www.memphisdailynews.com./Editorial....aspx?id=100606 Legal types: Does he have a case?

  13. Only if the douchebaggery extends to breaking character and throwing tantrums during matches.
  14. Hoping for: Less deaths, Lawler vs Hogan, a cool Flair retirement, more awesome Apache family stuff. Expecting: Bryan Danielson to murder Sara Del Ray and his dog before hanging himself from the top rope of the ROH ring, Batista's left ventricular hypertrophy
  15. Yeah, NSW really needs to be brought back as a read-only folder, or at least have its more interesting/amusing threads moved to a new read-only archive folder.
  16. She's not jacked like the other Gladiators, they hired her for her face. She even wears an outfit that covers more than the other Gladiators.

  18. Me three. PM'd you. -- Loss, 01/09
  19. I think Loss's point was more that you're harping on the fact the the word "greatest" was used instead of the word "best." If it was a "Best Wrestlers of All Time" post would we be having this argument at all?
  20. VideoMarinepiads I, II, & III.
  21. Actually the Michaels part appears to be based on what Michaels' own thoughts on that run were.
  22. I made a DVD from Munari's VHS copy of the 1" master. You won't do better. If Flair-Reed is on a Munari tape, I might be able to help you there... This was on a tape you had goodhelmet convert, I think, called "Heel Lawler/Best Brawls." I have the DVD from Will. From when RF sold the Cornette tapes right? Best hope would be a 1st gen like the concession stand brawl or somehow getting access to Corny's original. This is a dub of Cornette's original, we won't do better unless we somehow got his original converted to DVD. I would think that WWE will release it sooner or later, unless the early parts of the match on the master got damaged and that's why they only showed it JIP on the Iron Sheik HOF special.
  23. When Nelson's copy of Final Conflict surfaced, I'm pretty sure that Dave mentioned in the WON that nobody had ever seen a copy and it was the holy grail, though he had heard of the possibility that Nelson had it. Given Dave's closeness to Bowdren & Cornette, I would guess that if either of them had a copy, Dave would've seen it before Nelson went public. I would think he wouldn't have been lied about not having seen it or known of its existence since he's open about stuff like having gotten a copy of Bret-Magee from the WWE offices. I don't think anything aired on TV either, otherwise there wouldn't have been the fuss about the finish missing on Nelson's copy and then Kernodle releasing it using HIS copy, which appeared to be a dub of Nelson's made before the finish was lost. Since Nelson's copy had the better picture quality, a trader that I know spliced the finish from Kernodle's into the Nelson version with perfect frame accuracy using Womble MPEG VCR. As far as the Bowdren list compilation, I know that it's been a long-standing goal of our buddy Dan to collect every (possible, so no Luger-Steamboat from Philly unless a previously unseen handheld was shot) match on the list in 1st generation or better quality to try to compile eventually. I believe he's down to just needing upgrades of Ware/Austin vs Gilbert/Rich (possibly a lost cause, as if Munari's the original source, the person with most of his Memphis doesn't have the original, so it either vanished, Steve kept it, or Bob has it among the Munari stuff hidden in his house) and an possibly AJW match I'm forgetting the specifics of (he may have that now on his giant AJW set).
  24. As mentioned by Bowdren, Douglas has nothing to do with the match making the list. "Inoki is Inoki" really is the best way to put it. Duggan was great in Mid-South. Koko Ware was an absolutely fantastic wrestler pre-WWF. You sound like one of those guys who think people are joking when they suggest that El Dandy was a legendarily great wrestler. There was a sentiment like this at the time. Foot Loose vs Shinichi Nakano & Shunji Takano (7/19/88 & 9/20/88) These two matches had the best four young workers in All Japan. They were roughly on the same level as the Midnight Express vs The Fantastics matches in the U.S. during the same year.
