This started slow but morphed into an awesome angle even with Koko dressed as a bumb. -

It seems I liked this a lot more than the rest of you. I thought the finishing run was really exciting with the young lion trying to upset the established stars.

I thought the bout was solid. It didn't engage me enough watching it.

This what I said about the match in the SMW thread. Meltzer saw this match and rated it at 4 1/2*. I wouldn't even go near that level. I still liked it enough to nominate it though. Though it wasn't a great match by any stretch of imagination. One thing about SMW and the Rock N Roll since they are the headlining act here we get to see them work a guantlet of gimmick matches which is cool. We start out with a Rock N Roll sneak attack which got the crowd right into it. The table spots were fun. We get a lot of blood. Cornette was eally good in here. He's really great in this enviroment. Some of the weapon shots looked nasty. Dr. Tom took some neat bumps and a had a fun stetch run for a finish. Low-End Nomination.

It's amazing between Sullivan here, and a year later in WCW. Just night and day.

[1992-11-27-WWF-Providence, RI] Shawn Michaels vs Marty Jannetty
shoe replied to Loss's topic in November 1992
This started strong with some fun brawling, and great bumps. Then we got boring with working a front facelock which is becoming an HBK staple. Other things I liked was the mirror spots with twists in them. -
I thought this was a solid tag. Finish sucked for a ppv. You could tell Flair was up for this and really carried it. Hennig wasn't ready yet.

Good promo to get the Hitman character over. I would have not listed some of the people he beat though. He comes across as a fighting champion who fights stiffs. -
The atmosphere here is awesome. We get a really strong 6 man where you get the feeling these guys don't like one another. Almost like a Freebird/Von Erich vibe at points. Also the finishing stretch with Tenyru was tremendous.

I thought this was tremendous. Even with Kobashi eating the pin the crowd loved him. I loved Baba's exchanges. Sure they slowed it down for him, but his facials are so awesome.

[1992-11-21-WCW-Saturday Night] Big Van Vader vs Dustin Rhodes
shoe replied to Loss's topic in November 1992
This is pretty great. Dustin is a great opponent for Vader and vice versa. So much great stuff here. It's great how Dustin can go toe to toe with Vader, and then flip the switch and sell big for Vader, and eat his big moves.- 15 replies

[1992-11-26-WWF-Survivor Series] Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels

Not a bad match, but it sure dragged. I thought HBK was going to transition to working Bret;s right arm after the ring post bump. He went to it, but not for long. Even Bret was trying to feed him spots, but Shawn didn't take it. At this point in time HBK wasn't ready for a 25 + minute bout. Plus Meltzer giving this 4 1/2 * is pretty crazy. -

Agreed this might have been Cornette's best promo this year, and he's done a lot of good work this year. He's even bleeding from the mouth.

The action of what is shown looks good. -
I dug the agressiveness that Steamboat and Windham showed in their tie ups. End result Dustin looks like the stupid one. Loved how Barry laid out the faces in the locker room.

[1992-11-18-WCW-Clash of the Champions XXI] Sting vs Rick Rude
shoe replied to Loss's topic in November 1992
I was like Loss in that I liked the match before and didn't get why people didn't like it. The difference is I still like it. I didn't think the heat was bad. The bout got a little samey. Still they told a good story. The finish was telegraphed. I wish Sting would have got the Scorpion earlier, it may have added to the drama.- 8 replies

A great debut. Some of his timing was off a little on a couple of things, but he came across as a star. In typical WCW fashion they drop the ball with him. The promo from Simmons and Scorpio was a tad lackluster.
