  1. A really good match that. Kobashi was tremendous here in making Akiyama look like a million bucks. All-Japan and St. Louis were so could at building the future until they lost the magic.
  2. I thought it was funny how they were going with the spell as a potential reason for Bret's Summerslam loss. Perfect was having too much fun here knowing Bret hated this program.
  3. Personally I think the decade should be split in two. Like 90-94 and 95-99. I think the best workers of the U.S only worked 5 or 6 years because of injuries or the landscape has changed. Compare like 94 and 96. Even though it's only 2 years difference I feel 94 would have more in common with 89. All in all I think that would gauge who were the true best workers.
  4. Again, if they saw money in him I don't think they would have fired him.
  5. I don't see a problem. Hogan at his peak was great, no one was better. Few guys were equal. Most of these matches you mentioned when pointing out Arn's greatness doesn't apply since they took place in the 80's. The discussion is best U.S worker of the 90's. I'm a huge Arn fan and think he's an amazing worker for what it's worth. Plus if you ask me this Regal vs Arn match blows away the Superbrawl match. Steven Regal vs. Arn Anderson (WCWSN 10/9/93).
  6. Again what I said in the SMW thread. This is the 1st t.v bout between the teams and it is a heck of a bout. The Rock N Roll shine was really good with both guys looking good. The Bodies are just experts at timing and how to feed the face. Eventually the Bodies take control and work over Morton. Then he gets the hot tag to Gibson and they cut Gibson off to work him over. Pritchard has been real impressive in this setting so far. They tease a finish, but they go in another direction which is cool, and adds a little heat to the Rock N Roll vs. Studd Stable feud. This is a really good maiden voyage of the feud that drew SMW more money than any other feud in the company. This was a solid nomination.
  7. This would have been great if it was just Jake cutting a promo for the match. When I first saw this when it aired I was like why is Madusa there is she with Jake now? Jake was great here though.
  8. I liked how Cornette said the Either Bunny came to town early.
  9. These guys have had a lot of good matches with each other, and you can see the chemistry here in this short match that lead to a big brawl with the Gilberts, and Samples with Jarrett,Lawler, and Riggins.
  10. This was pretty great. The finishing sequence was really outstanding. Both guys worked really hard here.
  11. This was just a heck of a brawl. Cactus is just a complete wildman. The finish was abrupt. Dustin was really good here as well. I wish we could have gotten a ppv program here.
  12. This is what I said about the match for the SMW project. Plus, Loss I'm shocked that you didn't give this a rating. Under 3* is kinda wow. I really like this match and I would classify it a strong nomination. This felt like a greatest hits. It's so fun to watch good wrestling when the crowd is super hot. Everything that both teams did looked great and got over. So many great touches throughout. The finish was great. We got comedy, great work, mixed in with some great heated work also. They just ran the guantlet of stuff in their arsenal.
  13. This is what I said about the match for the SMW set. I thought this was just a damn good match. I feel it falls more as a slam dunk than a solid nomination. It probably falls somewhere in between. Fulton's punches are like jack hammers. The opening segment with Lane and Bobby was great. Dutch putting over the Japan tricks that the Fulton's have picked up in Japan. Pushing the sleeper hold which was great in that it played a part in the finish. This was the best Jackie has looked. I love the old Bill Watts finish of the either soaked rag. The diving sunset flip from Jackie was scary as hell. The match had an edge to it where the fans are like these guys don't each other.
  14. Count me in that this was good, but kind of a let down.
  15. I'll put it down as entertaining though.
  16. This was pretty mediocre. A 7 minute Ric Flair world title match is wrong. Still it's so hard to get a good match out of zombie taker. I mean every move he eats he basically Hulks up on. For telling a story it's hard to do.
  17. We need more time, but what we got was pretty fun. The Rick Steiner/Vader stuff was just stiff, and some bad ass suplexes. I thought the pinfalls on Koloff and Super Invader was weak shit. Would have liked to see Jake DDT Koloff after Rudes knee to the back. Rude clipping Scotty on that Frankensteiner was sweet. Vader taking out Rude and Sting at once with Rude holding onto Sting was great and a great throwback to the Dangerous Alliance. Jake being a sneaky opportunist was gold. Fun match.
  18. To me it's Bret as #1 the rest is a tough call. You see people like Benoit, Guerrero, Jericho, and Misterio's name being brought up. All great wrestlers. Does their work count from Japan, Mexico,Europe etc? You have seen people mention the J-cup etc. I think you need to evaluate their work that just takes place in the states. For this reason I see Scorpio as a better candidate compared to based on his WCW,ECW and even WWF stuff in comparison to Jericho, and Misterio. Those guys really just started popping up in 95 for ECW. I'm a huge Steamboat fan. I can watch him work anytime. I still wouldn't rank him in my top 10 because he only worked for a little over 4 year in the decade. Though his best 4 years or so are probaly better than most of the top 10. Count me in the pro Smother's group. I see him in the top 5 or 6. He had a lot of good matches in WCW. Most of them were tags, but had some quality singles. His run in SMW was great. he was the ace in SMW. He had good to great matches with everyone he was programmed with. He was the Ultimate face for the promotion. He was really good in ECW, and had a run of really strong Indy matches. If you haven't the Smother's comp from Will you are missing out on some great wrestling.
  19. Dutch was on a podcast with Lagana and seemed to have an understanding of the Punk angle. Wasn't Dutch on the booking team in TNA when Punk was their? If that was the case he didn't get a major push there.
  20. This is a solid match. I liked Austin working over Steamboat's ribs. Of course Steamboat is great at selling them. Still these guys have had much better matches over the years.
  21. I don't think so. That Girl from the Nanny grew up to be on Californication, and Heroes are a couple of her recent credits.
  22. This is just an awesome piece of business. Shame it wasn't going to work with Simmons.
