  1. I think Kerry Von Erich would be a good comp to JYD. I think Kerry Von Erich is a better candidate than JYD. Kerry drew in Texas,Mid-South, was a big draw in St. Louis, and did well in Japan. Was a former NWA champ when it meant something. Kerry was a better worker than JYD. JYD was a huge draw in Mid-South. He was the #2 face for a while in the WWF. I also thought the Dog meant something in Georgia. To me the Dog's flame burnt out too quick, but can see an argument for him being on the ballot.
  2. The presentation was what made this special. We should have seen more bombs thrown.
  3. Morton was really good here, but Gilbert was just phenomenal. Morton doesn't get enough love for his interviews. He wasn't a great talker, but you believed in what he was selling. He was able to get himself and programs over.
  4. Fun promo. It won't talk people to the building, but was perfect for the Stinger.
  5. Slater was so terrible. I was hoping Barbarian would start speaking.
  6. Landell is so awesome on the stick. He has charisma to spare. I'm a big SMW fan and was really sad when Landell left. He really could have been a huge part of this company.
  7. This was a lot of fun. Just too damn short.
  8. This was a great angle. I wonder if Bossman was able to get decent matches out of Nailz. The angle and follow up has been great.
  9. Jarrett is bland as a face on the stick.
  10. It was good but I was expecting a lot more based on rep of both teams, and footage I've seen of both teams. I thought the final fall was really fun, though the actual finish was blah. Their were some neat stuff between the teams.Anyone know where El Texano started bleeding.
  11. I always thought when Flair faced Koloff in the cage. Dusty comes out to help Flair, and Flair and the Horseman do the big beatdown on Rhodes to a huge amount of heat.
  12. I thought this was pretty good. That Konan run in for the DQ sucked, and pissed the crowd off. Cien Caras is the king of Rudos. Del Rio would be good to steal some of his schtick.
  13. This is a classic. Easily in my top 5 Lucha matches of all time. I love how the mat wrestling is the base of the match. Through that we get an incredible 3rd caida that the crowd is going bonkers on all the false finishes. I think Meltzer gave this 4*. He really underrated this classic.
  14. This is a fun promo where the guys are having the time of their lives.
  15. Cornette brings the goods here. We really do miss managers in today's product.
  16. This was amazing. One of my favorite videos ever.
  17. This is kinda dissapointing considering the talent level. The Steiners take a beating here. Scott in particular. Bigelow looked like he gained more weight, but didn't hamper his work.
  18. This is a lot of fun. Sasaki gets over even with the loss.
  19. Fujiwara looked much different here than the Florida bout. I found this one dull though.
  20. I'm pretty open minded about things. Though I have never been able to get into female wrestling. I don't know why. Another thing is with the high end indy stuff. I hate all those snarky chants from the fans. It can really just kill a match.
  21. I haven't seen this in a while so I'll check it out again soon. One thing about this show was the in the ring stuff was really good. Some of the booking choices is weird. We get 2 non title matches. 2 Matches that end up going 30, so the main event going 30 kinda kills the iron match stips. Not allowing the Sting/Cactus match or Rude/Steamer to go last because of an angle with Cactus and Steamboat seems stupid. Here's an idea. Kill the angle and do it on the weekend show. Plus you could argue the Iron Man match had too many falls. Plus in back to back matches we see Cactus work over Sting's ribs and then in the next bout we have Steamboat work over Rude's ribs. FYI Rude sold his ribs a billion times better than Sting, and with Sting we actually had an injury angle. For a guy who had a rep for being a sticular for detail Watts does miss a lot here.
  22. This is just great and both guys looked exhausted when this was over. I too thing the falls were too many. In the past it bothered me. Here it really didn't at all. Reading Meltzer's review of this bout and he seems like he really misses the boat on it.
  23. I have always enjoyed this. It was a total sprint with some brutal bumps. Cactus brings some good storytelling by working the Stinger's injured ribs. The finish was cool. I also thought Fonzie may have made the best counts ever in a Falls counts anywhere match.
