I thought Gilbert made BBJ look great. Anyone know who he is. The Lawler comparison is right on.

This was a great sprint. Casas and the Cowboys were so amzaing. Since the Benoit/Jericho comparison has been made on the working the Lucha. I thought Lozansky seemed like he grasped Lucha more than the other 2. Overall just some awesome stuff here.

A fun little angle before the match. Then we get nice little match between the 2. Had some similarites to Blazer/Horowitz from the WWF 80's set as in he was a real good base for his high spots.

I thought Armstrong and Norton reminded me of a more talented Hart Foundation. This was great. Armstrong took such a beating, and was so compelling in his selling that he got the audience to get behind him and rally for his comeback which says a lot seeing Hase and Muto are huge stars in Japan. Norton was great in his roll. The finishing sequence was great. I loved how we got a southern tag/mixed in with some fighting spirit.

[1992-02-10-NJPW-Fighting Spirit] Jushin Liger vs Pegasus Kid

Another great Liger match. That top rope drop kick to the floor was insane. Hot action with a great story behind it.- 11 replies

I thought this was solid, kinda dissapointing considering the talent level. The thing that got the biggest reaction was Scott doing the slow tag to get Sting in the bout. So far on this set Hughes can really take some big bumps.

This really was a great commercial. -
[1992-02-08-NJPW-Fighting Spirit] Jushin Liger vs Norio Honaga
shoe replied to Loss's topic in February 1992
I thought this was an excellent match. It kinda had a blend of American psychology mixed in with some Japan style. Honaga even came across very rudo like with his stuff. I liked how Honaga worked over Liger's ribs, back, and stomach. I dug Liger's failed surfboard attempt. Like Loss I called that spot when it was developing. Liger screaming in pain was a nice touch when Honaga worked over the ribs. Honaga being a bigger Jr. allowed a lot of the cool little touches to show. Liger's dives were cool, and fit in with his comeback. Just an excellent match and somethng for both men to hang their hats on.- 20 replies

[1992-02-08-USWA-TV] Jerry Lawler & Jeff Jarrett and The Moondogs
shoe replied to Loss's topic in February 1992
Jarrett comes across as such bad promo next to the King. The action is just outstanding. The brawling is so out of control. They really make you want to pay to see the faces get revenge. -
[1992-02-08-USWA-TV] Eric Embry/Dirty White Boy feud recap
shoe replied to Loss's topic in February 1992
This comes across as a hot feud. I hope we can get a full match or two from these guys, cause the angles, promos, and clips look great. -
[1992-02-08-WWF-Superstars] Funeral Parlor: Ric Flair & Mr Perfect
shoe replied to Loss's topic in February 1992
The music from the Funeral parlor was really distracting. Flair is also one of the guys who seems to bite their tongues during interviews. He's had plenty during his career where you see blood in his mouth. -
The other thing of note was it must have been pretty damn cold. You could see the steam coming out of the wrestlers breaths because of how cold it was. I went back to the old Observers and they mention how cold it was. The Observer also mentioned how people rated it as a 4- 4 1/4* match.

I might have been overstating about having a good bout with the dead man. Just the gimmick in general made it harder to have a good match with someone who overtime has proven to be a hell of a worker which is the Undertaker. The gimmick lended itself to have solid matches with the super hero type babyfaces the WWF had like Hogan where the drama upped the ante of the bout. I think the gimmick was originally made to be a foil for the Hogan/Warrior types. When they envisioned it originally I didn't think they thought the character would have the legs that it ended up having. Which really has to do with Mark Callous.

What a great mat wrestling clinic. It was the type of work where you could see these guys headling St. Louis in the 70's. They told a beautiful story with Caras looking amazing. Canek was very good too, but was sloppy on a couple of spots. I thought the finish of the 2nd fall was awesome, but it kinda felt out of place with how great Canek was selling the limb injury. Again these are minor quibbles to a kick ass match.

[1992-02-01-USWA-TV] Jerry Lawler, Austin Idol and the Moondogs
shoe replied to Loss's topic in February 1992
I thought this segment was tremendous. Just a snug ass brawl. I thought the whole attempted murder of Austin Idol was pretty farfetched even for Memphis standards. Still the fight was great, and did Idol borrow Mr. Hughes glasses.- 10 replies

[1992-02-08-WCW-Power Hour] Steve Austin vs Ricky Steamboat
shoe replied to Loss's topic in February 1992
This was just a good solid t.v bout. The opening salvo makes perfect sense for Steamboat since it's a 10 minute time limit. Austin gave Steamboat a ton. Steamboat sold for Austin, it's a nice little give and take bout that doesn't devalue Steamboats chances at taking the U.S title from Rude at Superbrawl. Like Loss said Austin learned so much from working with Steamboat. With that said their is a laundry list of guys who can say that from working Steamboat. Just some names that pop in my mind are Shane Douglas, Pillman, Luger, Helmsley had one of his 1st good televised bouts with him in 94, one of Bret Hart's 1st excellent single matches in WWF, Dustin Rhodes, plus their is a ton more. Steamboat is one of the all time great veterans of the business.- 12 replies

[1992-02-01-USWA-TV] The Moondogs vs Chris Frazier & Brian Collins

Good angle. Man they were just stiffing the heck out of Frazier and Collins. I thought the burns on Richard Lees face was a nice touch.- 10 replies

First, Flair's opening promo was money. I wish we could have gotten Flair in a suit instead of the sweater. Plus the aftermath where Sid comes across as a mad as hell motherfucker is great. i wouldn't fuck with Sid. Hogan really came across as not as big as a star as Flair or Sid.
