  1. Words can hardly express how much I laugh at anyone thinking that Cena had married the love of his life. Won't kiss and tell but yeah he at the very least had a northeast girl friend whose Manhattan apartment he paid for. I said HE was the love of HER life. The opposite. words can't express how much I laugh at lack of reading comprehension
  2. I don't normally enjoy matches that go 40 minutes +, but I love those giant tag team Survivor matches. Part of it is the spectacle of having so many guys on the apron in one match, but the real part is the great work and psychology of them. Those matches are so fun to watch I always second Team Bischoff vs. Team Austin as being really great and the best "modern" Survivor match the match where Undertaker debuted was great for what it was supposed to do. I loved the Bret-DiBiase segment
  3. I'm not 100% sold on Murdoch, but I've got no problem with him going in. I've always liked what I've seen from him as a performer and his style, and I probably haven't seen his best stuff. But it always feels like there's something missing with him when it comes to HOF credentials. After being on the ballot for so long and talked up/debated so much, I'd be surprised if this is the year he goes in. Stranger things have happened with this HOF though
  4. I don't consider myself an expert and I admit to not being super familiar with a lot of people on the ballot, but I've thought for years that Colon should be in. Some people downplay the importance of Puerto Rico as a territory, but the fact is, it's been a successful territory for a long time, and Colon has been the biggest star for a long time. I consider him an icon. You can't talk about wrestling in Puerto Rico without talking about Carlos Colon. From what I've seen and heard from Dave he's always downplayed him as a candidate, downplays the significance of Puerto Rico, brings up that when brought to New York he "didn't matter" or whatever, but I think that's a specious argument. He wasn't put in a position to matter there. They also brought in Japanese and Mexican legends who "didn't matter", WWWF at the time brought foreign guys in as a promotional favor, so they could get coverage in their home countries or whatever. And there's lots of guys in the HOF who's claim to fame is in one country or territory, being a globetrotter or someone who worked all over can help a candidacy, but it's not the be all end all. I also think Dave has been against him as a candidate because of the Brody deal, and it's reasonable to hold that against him, but I don't think it changes his status when it comes to a HOF, for better or worse. Dave's opinions on candidates have a lot of influence, which is why I think it's taken so long for Colon to get support
  5. IIRC there were pictures of him, his wife and Kelly Kelly as well I don't know why I thought he got divorced. Thought I remembered reading that a few years back.
  6. Jimmy Garvin and Precious. By all accounts neither of them fucked around, they lasted together while working which seems to be one of the hardest things to do, and they're still married to this day. I can't remember who, but in a shoot someone flat out said they tried very hard to get in Precious' pants and it just wasn't happening. Nash being married for so long has always baffled me. It was clear by his conduct and the people he associated with that this was a guy having a good time on the road, and having a good time on the road includes scoring chicks. It wasn't exactly a secret that Nash liked the ladies, and I never even knew he was married til much later on. I figure either she was really cool and they had an understanding about it, or she was just oblivious and truly loves Nash despite his hijinx. Either way Nash got lucky and chose well when he married. When Cena married his "high school sweetheart" I thought for sure it was a deal where he was the love of her life, and he still wanted to be with women on the road but he loved her too and wanted a wife to make a home for him, and she was ok with that arrangement. Lots of girls would be ok with that. Turns out I was totally wrong, and they ended up divorced when she figured out what his habits were. I thought the same thing for sure with Jericho and Edge, and they both ended up divorced in pretty short order. I don't understand why these guys aren't just straight up with their girls. You don't have to flaunt it, just say, "hey, I'm gonna be home like 4 days this month, I might need to get some, but I'm always coming home to you" I just assume that 90% of guys and gals on the road fuck around on their significant other. Then you get crazy stuff like Tammy Sytch fucking around all over the place, with and without consent from Candido depending on who tells the story, while Candido appears to have stayed faithful to her, AND they stuck it out as a couple through a decade in the business. That relationship seems like such an anomaly in wrestling.
  7. Honestly, when it comes down to it, what would the TNA library really add to a Sting bio? It would tell the full story of his career, but WWE already owns all the important footage. It's a nice late career run for the most part, but essentially meaningless in the big picture. Ditto Angle and Hardy. Also, for the Network, they already have enough footage to fill it out. Countless hours of their own stuff, countless hours of WCW and ECW, AWA, all the other promotions. It's crazy how much content they own. What's an hour or two a day of TNA on the Network matter in the big picture? Extremely little.
  8. I know next to nothing about Deglane, so looking forward to the bio. What are his best qualifications?
  9. Really? You compare the "Where's the Beef?" commercial to HULK HOGAN!?!
  10. Is "The Jericho Role" a bad thing? and let this play out
  11. Why don't you just stop reading the internet? Got to separate the good from the bad
  12. Put it this way: In a sense it's cool what they're going for here, and Cena worked his ass off in the Del Rio and Sandow matches, and there's legit drama of "oh shit, what if his arm falls apart!" But I'm tired of the SuperCena act. And a lot of fans are tired of it. It's just been going on too long now. Notice the muted pop he got for his "huge return" at the PPV. Notice a ton of apathy and booing on RAW. And of course he's still over, and the act is over, and he's always going to appeal to kids because he's the superhero, but it's almost reaching Hogan levels where they seem desperate to keep him the top star despite everything And I like Cena, and I don't actually hate the idea of booking him as "Superman".......it's just tired at this point. CENAnuff as a brilliant sign once said
  13. Based on I think that booking Cena as "superman" is over the top, and I'm getting tired of it. And I like WWE. And I like Cena. And I appreciate why they are booking him like this, I just think it's been too much. I'm objective.
  14. I honestly think more people know who Hulk Hogan is than Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Yeah, Rock is a big movie star now, but Hogan was a pop culture icon This will change eventually, but if you ask people right now, more of them know Hogan than they know Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
  15. Yes
  16. That makes sense. But, it's not like "WWE Legends" haven't dished dirt before, and in the long run it isn't held against them. That comment by Meltzer makes me think there's things Rey doesn't want to say or have said publicly while he's under an active contract. I know Rey has been talking to Meltzer for years. I seriously doubt he'd throw WWE completely under the bus after he "retires" but I also wouldn't expect him to hold back on some of his opinions
  17. I appreciate objective criticism. And that's why I qualified with "I really hate when people say don't watch it" because it's generally a dumb and reductive thing to say But some people seem incapable of having any sort of objectivity when it comes to WWE, and would be better off for their own health if they just ignored the product Myself, you can go back through my posts on this board and I've certainly criticized WWE for a lot of things. But I enjoy their product as well. If I didn't I wouldn't watch it or follow it. Objective criticism And I think that extends to all mediums, and it's one of my least favorite things on the internet. People just shitting all over stuff that they hate, yet can't turn away from. It's ugly.

Evidently you have a comprehension issue. I stopped watching last night and won't watch again until Rumble time. Funny how someone endorsed that on Facebook who paid to see HIAC. Sorry bro, you lost me right there. But keep on complaining about the things you love to hate I wish you the best. Honestly.

Way to prove my point, crazy man If the product sucks as much as you claim, why do you keep watching? Because it's the only game in town? It isn't.
  20. Honestly, I put the onus on Lesnar and Goldberg. They got shook by the crowd. It's possible they could have brought that crowd back and had an epic match, it was a tough scenario, but it's possible. But blaming the crowd is dumb. All they wanted to do was boo both of them and see Stone Cold stunner them both out of the company, and that's what they got.
  21. eh, I stick with my original hypothesis It was WMXX. At MSG. Fans in that crowd were hyped and MSG only held around 20,000 at that time. Everyone knew Goldberg was leaving. Everyone knew Lesnar had just put in notice and everyone had expecting Lesnar to be beating Goldberg on his way out knew they wouldn't get that, and the fans that expected some cool match where Lesnar killed Goldberg knew they wouldn't get that. Everyone knew it would end up being a clusterfuck in the week leading up to it. The idea that the fans just should have pretended that they didn't know anything going in and just treat it like any other match is retarded, sorry. The crowd should fake caring about a match when they know that both guys had already checked out? F that.

Yeah, like I said, maybe just lay off modern wrestling, you sound crazy. Triple Hepatitis? Eh, whatever man, I couldn't care less if you watch WWE, it's just annoying as hell reading bitter people shit all over the modern product. Get over it. If you don't like it don't watch it. Shit, I'd be miserable if I watched or listened to things I didn't actually like. So I don't.

Yes and it's driven by WWE paranoia and nepotism. For the former, the company seems unduly worried that TNA might rise out of the ashes by signing one of their big, disenchanted stars. On the other, driven by the former, the upper brass can't help itself but push around talent. Maybe Vince deep down feels the Cliq pulled a coup on him and that it's better to collaborate than risk a new Cliq or Austin from arising. lol I can guarantee you that WWE has no fear of TNA signing any of their stars. Not 10 years ago, not 5 years ago, and certainly not now when the company is on the verge of death As to the second point, talent has gotten pushed around in every promotion in history. Cream rises to the top. They aren't worried about some sort of coup, lol. Maybe they just do things certain ways because Vince is set in his ways, and there's no competition to prod him? That seems far more logical than your batshit ideas. There's already been a big change since HHH has gotten more pull backstage in terms of the talent they use and push, developmental, storylines, etc.
  24. Holy sheet the last few pages of this thread just scream that most of you will never like modern WWE, never like modern wrestling, and should stick to old tapes. The amount of angst in some of your posts is painful. Some of the complaints in this thread literally hurt my brain. It's 2013. I get some of it, but maybe modern WWE just isn't for you? And I hate that "if you don't like it don't watch it" trope when it comes to modern wrestling, I hate to go there, but I've been more annoyed by some of the posts I've read on current WWE lately than I have in a while. Yeah, it's not the best thing you've ever seen. It's also not the worst. There's also some really good shit in there. And yeah they make mistakes. Sorry Daniel Bryan hasn't been put over like Thor yet. Christ.

I really liked the Sandow confrontation, the attack on the arm, and the cash in.....but as soon as it went to commercial I knew he was going to lose because they wouldn't blow the massive surprise cash in moment and pop like that. Still though, the match was really good, and done well enough that I actually bought that Sandow might actually win. The "Superman Cena" stuff reached ridiculous levels there though. I get why they do it and everything, but with the amount of punishment he took from Sandow on his SURGICALLY REPAIRED ARM....less than 24 hours after his match with Del Rio.....no way he should have survived that match with the belt, beating Sandow clean with a one armed AA no less. Ok, he's a superhuman freak, we get it. But even Superman had his kryptonyte, and if that ridiculous beatdown of his arm that Sandow delivered wasn't it, what is? Overall I thought this was a really good RAW, and the complaints about the way they're booking Bryan and HHH and Show are getting tiresome. Bryan murdered HBK in a really great segment, then had the Wyatts sicked on him. Who then proceeded to also destroy CM Punk, the other most over guy on the roster, later in the show. But this is somehow terrible and burying them? To me it just made this whole angle a lot more interesting, and if you don't think Bryan and Punk teaming up against the Wyatts is going to get over like gangbusters you're wrestling retarded, sorry. And I hate to say something like that on what I expect to be the smartest board around, but jesus, some of you need to get a grip
