  1. Why, why, WHY does John Cena get a second DVD two years after the first??? This is almost re-defining "hard sell" of the guy. Other than that, very nice potential list. Still would love a Slaughter or Lawler DVD, but can't complain overall.
  2. They'll likely do that. If those are the brackets (I haven't checked), my predictions: - RVD > Carlito - Kane - HHH > Naitch - HBK > Show - RVD > Masters - HHH > Show - RVD
  3. I really like Tim's idea, but I don't know if I'll be able to participate, especially if each of us gets to burn DVDs, something I don't have access to. On top of that, I often have difficulty of finding time within two weeks for one DVD, or the energy for it, for that matter. One match a week is a different, and easier case though. I don't want to stop anyone from wanting to do Tim's idea if it's a go. If it's any consolation, I'll definitely be reading.
  4. Let's make sure more people are interested before we do this. They each should have their own thread too. I don't want this all in one thread. It'll get messy.
  5. I'm very interested in this, assuming I have the match of course.

  7. True enough. I'll say that Jericho appealed to a lower percentage of the audience than Angle did.
  8. That WrestleMania is underrated by many, in my opinion, thanks to a solid string of matches: Goldust-HHH, Owen/Bulldog-Vader/Mankind, Bret-Austin, and LOD/Ahmed-NOD. The beginning of the show and main event suck, of course, but those four matches range from Perfectly Acceptable to Fucking Awesome. Not the best show ever or anything like that, but there's been far worse WrestleManias. 13 smokes 11 (just two years prior), in my opinion.
  9. It's nice and convenient for him to say that too. Look at how Angle and Jericho, for that matter, have been booked in those feuds. Angle, for much of his feud with Cena, has reminded us that he's a better wrestler than Angle and has lived and damn-near died for this business (like that promo he gave on RAW). I happen to think he's really deteriorated like many others feel, but to the general WWE fanbase, he's absolutely correct. In other words, Angle should've never been booked to do that and many argue that his whiny promo helped him become a face because everything he said was, at least in a semi-kayfabe way, correct. When you have a heel as fodder for your champ, but part of the focus is on the heel's strengths, which are the babyface's weaknesses, to an extent, that only hurts your babyface. As for Jericho, he was booked to bring up Fozzy, declare that "rap is crap", etc. Rap is VERY popular, but only to certain demographics, and if someone else brings up a different musical genre which is still very strong as far as a following goes, that person is going to get a positive reaction. They really should've booked Jericho, in my opinion, as a loudmouth who is going to "take over rap" or something like, but sound horrible in the process. Instead, they went with the rap vs. metal angle, which only brought about strong face reactions for Jericho. The point being is that something HHH as a heel is criticized for is telling the truth way the fuck too much (heck, you've brought this up in the past) when he should be a otal lying ass who still believes his words, like a JBL for instance. However, for what HHH is criticized for is not limited to him as both Angle's and Jericho's roles certainly had them in that position to a good extent. Fuck, I'm not sure if Edge got any face reactions or anything since I didn't watch too many Edge as WWE Champ RAWs, but if he did, it's due to the edgier (no pun intended) character he played, which one can interpret as a nice flashback to the Attitude era, which Edge almost being an Austin-like rebel, but in a different way. This all falls under the writing and booking, which you and I both know is the reason for this mess. I blame them for most of this. As you or someone else said once upon a time, a turnaround ain't gonna happen as long as the current team and direction is there. The wrestlers get criticized for inability to draw certain heat (which still may be true) but they're hardly given the platform at all. As usual, everything is booked in a vacuum as far as this company goes.
  10. I actually did mean that.
  11. HHH saying that someone else can't play heel is funny. He really should learn from JBL.
  12. Probably a Boston Crab. I once got into a schoolyard fight with some idiot, took him down, applied the Crab, and the guy was screaming, "Let go of me!". People who watched it were like, "GOOD Boston Crab there!"
  13. Easy. An eye poke. As for real moves, probably a Tiger Driver.
  14. I'll let you guys throw in the smart-assed comments. Anyways, this is April's issue...
  15. If it's a side headlock, just punch the guy square in the mouth and chip his teeth. It happened to me once, in Grade 5.
  16. I heard the WWE found out about YouTube and thus, you can't find WWE material on there anymore. So, in that sense, it's the same somewhat.
  17. You were correct, but under different circumstances. If you were predicting Rey and Eddie would be "like brothers" by 2006, I think that's accountable to Eddie really not working as a heel except in THAT storyline and thus, a face turn (again) was expected. What happened, of course, was a different story.
  18. Good summary, WP. I'd like to add to Mysterio-Henry that when they worked the cat-and-mouse spot, with Rey hiding behind the steps and then under the ring, the crowd did a great job keeping silent so that Henry didn't know where he was. I don't know if Rey got them to keep quiet (like Booker T did against Henry a couple years ago on RAW) but it worked. Camerawork for that spot was great as the announcers were clueless as to where Rey was. Ditto with your opinion on Funaki-Finlay. I'm LOVIN' Finlay's work right now. I only saw Benoit-Orton off and on last night so I can't really give a full opinon on it. If The Score here in Canada is doing their SD replay today at 3:30, I'm rewatching the whole show and especially that match.
  19. Lita.
  20. The Bossman-Kobashi match, to narrow it down a bit more, was fall of 1993.
  21. Also was the only single brand show to have the two top titles on the line.
  22. That Vengeance number still blows my mind, even if it was a stacked card for a one-brand show.
  23. The last bit was amusing to me. Did the Lex Express have the same bad luck back in the day?
  24. I need to re-watch, but I believe Jake said he had a contract in WCW that said he'll make $3.2 million a year ready to go, then Bill Watts came, saw it, laughed and ripped it up, which resulted in the $200,000 a year contract he wound up getting. Not sure if I'm correct in the values, but I do remember Jake saying that "I would've been set for life" or something. In other words, it had nothing to do with what he was making in the WWF.
  25. It's definitely right up there. Not 100% sure if it's the best documentary they've done, but it's one of the better ones. I think Graham's and Hart's are up there too. Jake is a lying sack of shit in his DVD. I laughed when he said he was going to get something along the lines of $3.2 million from WCW before Bill Watts came and vetoed that. Sure, Jake. Like you were going to get Bret Hart-level-money-in-1997 back in late '92.
