WWE TV 10/26 - 11/1 Afa and Sika endorsed the Usos getting beat up

Laying out the Miz when he just won the MITB briefcase is certainly a WWE thing to do. -

Randy Orton is solidly in that group of people I can admit are very good at professional wrestling yet I can't manage to make myself give a shit about anything they do. The match last night was good, arguably great even, but god damn is the prospect of Orton as champ again seem like a wrestling version of the movie Groundhog Day. -

Also Asuka nerding out over her new VR setup is the wholesome content we need in 2020. -

OGs know who's the best fit to run the business they started. Real recognize real. -
I believe she had an anxiety attack prior to the first show, my personal opinion was because Cody was making comments comparing her to Bayley and inadvertently sent the crazy WWE women/Bayley specific stans after her on social media. She seems to be someone who enjoys wrestling as a balm for her mental health issues, but putting her in important positions seems to be a trigger for her (AEW was clearly going to position her as a key figure in their women's division plans and her leaving left them in a lurch). It's a difficult situation, what can a company do? She should of course be allowed to pursue her career any way she wants, but her mental health doesn't seem to be in a place that will let her be put in any featured positions. It's not fair to her to say we can't push you because of your mental health, but it's not fair to the company to not be sure they can deliver one of their featured matches on PPV either.

Yeah, I think the Bucks work better as obnoxious heels and it feels like they are doing the FTR feud because both sides teased it forever on Twitter. I've been enjoying them superkicking randos backstage and tossing wads of cash at Tony to pay the fines, and it diminishes their act since Tully is such a great old school heel and FTR are good at new school heel tactics. If we had crowds, all you had to do is have FTR basically parrot Jim Cornette promos (the anti AEW ones, not the uh.... "other" ones) and have their fanbase foaming at the mouth angry.

Apparently the original spoiler post on reddit mentioned an angle with Matt Cardona until someone pointed out he was streaming on his Twitch channel at the time the tapings took place and it was edited out. So not sure how legit they might end up.

Now that I think about it, if there is a family that would kick someone out for losing a match it probably would be the Anoai family.
-
The only problem I have with the Roman/Jey stuff is that it set the stakes too high to be believable IMO. The Usos get kicked out of the family over losing a wrestling match? That's quite a stretch even in the wacky world of rasslin'.

Roman revealing his inner Star Trek geek and invoking Kilngon law by stating Jey will dishonor his family for 3 generations.

Also I was hoping Sasha would go all Magnum/Tully on Bayley and start stabbing her with the pen to get her to sign the contract. "SIGN IT" *stab* "SIGN IT" *stab*

...and here I was thinking it was considerate of WWE do a segment like this right in the middle of people bitching about the song and dance segment from Dynamite.

It's funny how people were clowning on EY for saying he wasn't used properly in WWE. I saw a lot of "lol look at the jobber complaining" type comments, but this run is showing that he still has something to bring to the table. Like, he's not going to be the one to carry Impact to the promised land, but he's a great psycho heel that can be used to elevate a new babyface.

It does say something when the Blade did more to help the guy by dragging him (mostly) out of the way to the corner than any of the doctors did for several minutes. Sometimes in all the action you can excuse not noticing someone is legit KO'd, but when the person in question is out to the point they were doing the fencing motion (when one or both arms are stuck in a straight out position) there's no excuse not to notice that. It seems like he's okay at least in a "he's up and walking around" sense, but that was all sorts of not good.

If it wasn't for the pandemic those two would be the PWG tag team champs! (I kid!)
-
It was actually pretty good as a song and dance routine, but it didn't really fit on the show. Having said that, I don't begrudge them for trying stuff. They've shown a track record of either fixing or punting on things that don't work, so I don't mind them doing off the wall stuff.

Tully getting up to villainy will always make my heart feel warm.

Kenny slowly turning back into the Cleaner is a great slow burn.

United Wrestling Network announces world title tournament
sek69 replied to sek69's topic in Pro Wrestling
They had the Pope win the NWA TV title on the last UWN weekly PPV so it seems they are still working together. I see it more as Marquez hedging his bets and having his own world title in case the NWA deal goes south. I suppose he wants to have a champion that is around week to week while bringing in the NWA champ as a special attraction? Seems kind of a 1970s approach to things but if it works for them who's to say. -
So how can the virus be real but the pandemic is somehow not? Who are these "best doctors" that only truly galaxy brained folks are aware of? I suppose I should take solace in the fact that it doesn't make any sense to me.
