  1. Nash's babyface turn with hardcore wrestling fans will never not amuse those of us around at the height of WCW.

Kingston wins, Kenny wins the #1 contender match, you have Kenny win against Kingston, and you can still build to Kenny-Mox II like they want to.

I would assume the Rhodes family to be very much the "Republicans who don't like Trump" variety. Also I bet Jericho the worker is psyched the election got called early in the day so the PPV buys don't get hit by everyone watching the news.

I think the Omega-Page build has been pretty good, it's just that Mox-Kingston are doing a master class in selling a PPV so it kind of gets forgotten in the mix. I liked the one on one interviews each guy did, with Kenny being the fake-humble heel in denial of his heeldom and Page as "young guy not sure he can get over the hump and win the big one and is sliding into alcoholism as a result" with JR having to take the Dad Tone with him. Which by the way is one aspect JR is still very good at. I wonder if the usual suspects will scream again because Serena Deeb/Allysin Kay for the NWA women's title is the Buy In match.
  5. Carmella does have personality, the stuff with Truth was good (but then he's the best ever at making bad shit work), but wrestling wise....yeesh.
  6. I mean, except for the dark days of New Japan most of the wrestling there is better than what goes on in the US. It doesn't mean something that took place in Japan is automatically better, but nine times out of ten their top matches are going to smoke the top matches from everywhere else. It's really funny to see Dave get memed for his supposed Japan fetish when those of us who cut our teeth on the mid 90s Internet Wrestling Community all looked up to people who worshiped at the altar of 90s All Japan. Anyone saying Misawa vs Kawada wasn't the greatest match to ever exist was looked at as a heretic.
  7. I mean, it's legal for any worker to discuss unionization and in theory employers could (and should!) get in serious trouble for punishing them for it. However in practice it's never enforced and companies seldom face any actual fallout for it. Even if they get a slap on the wrist, the damage is done and it's considered the cost of doing business for the company. It's interesting though that even if it wasn't why he was fired, him basically admitting he was talking about it (and him assuming it's why he was fired means he believes the company knew he was doing it) is kind of remarkable. I don't recall hearing about anyone actively involved in the business talking positively about a union since probably Jesse Ventura in the 80s. I wonder if any seeds were planted in people's minds, and having the company blatantly grab at talent's Twitch money right after potentially hearing talk about unions could be an interesting situation.
  8. Well if the COVID part was true there would be potential backlash, but in America firing someone because they were trying to unionize is more or less business as usual.
  9. So Miro is claiming WWE let him go because he was trying to unionize the locker room and was demanding better COVID protection.
  10. It's always weird to me when they put a belt on someone who already has one (Gresham was already a tag champ and won the tournament). Like if they were going to do an angle where it came down to him and Lethal and it ended up causing the team to break up, that's one thing. This was more like what was the point of bringing back the Pure title to put in on someone who is in theory going to be involved in tag matches instead?
  11. Out of context, in that case. The topic was the most historically important matches ever and the match that basically created pro wrestling in Japan and spurred adoption of TV there is historically higher on the list than the blowoff to Hulkamania,
  12. Cody has been adamant he will not ever challenge for the world title because he saw how being office and challenging for the title was used as a criticism of Dusty, It's why he's been so gung-ho in getting the TNT title over.
  13. Apparently it was Don Callis.
  14. I didn't think there was a way NXT could get me to care about Chiampa again, but I suppose having him beat up a nonce is the way to do it.
  15. I think McAfee's crew just murdered Killian Dain, and once again I love the continuity that the parking lot is the most dangerous place in NXT.
  16. Pat McAfee as the mouthy manager to a stable of ass kickers is my favorite WWE related thing right now.
  17. WWE apparently dropped their claim to the Cody Rhodes name, I thought for sure we'd see him using it here.
  18. "Slowly driven insane by months of pandemic isolation" is the perfect 2020 gimmick for Pac.
  19. Man, Mox-Kingston.....like....all of it so far, should be shown to everyone who wants to get into wrestling to show them how you do it.
  20. Man, it's weird how everyone knows Taz is a good promo yet it's still surprising when he comes out and cuts one like that.
  21. I'm not sure if it's based on fact or not, but Vince was certainly under the impression Dusty didn't care for black folks which is why Virgil was named Virgil and why Dusty was paired up with and older black woman.
  22. That just means he's more polite about it, lol.
  23. Jericho tries to present his show as a more educated Joe Rogan Podcast where he's just presenting different viewpoints that he doesn't necessarily endorse, but he's clearly right leaning at best and closet MAGA brained at worse. I can buy Rogan's just a curious dope who doesn't challenge the people he interviews, Jericho is purposefully pretending to be that to have plausible deniability when he has someone particularly odious on his show.
  24. I mean, yeah, but that's been a Vince trademark forever. Look at how Terry Taylor went from an up and coming young babyface pushed as a draw for young female fans to being turned into an all time career ending gimmick. He turned One Man Gang into an embarrassingly racist gimmick just to make fun of the competition's booker, then ended up signing the guy they were making fun of to try to humiliate him too.
  25. To the vast majority of folks Vince is just the wacky rasslin man who tried to run a football league and is BFFs with Trump. Plus while I expect it to be covered because it would be too obvious a whitewash to ignore completely, I fully expect anything involving the sex/steroid scandals to be boiled down to "the government had it out for poor small businessman Vince and his family company".
