Apparently the Montreal episode leans heavily on already disproven talking points (like Bret was going to take the WWF belt to Nitro so Vince had to do what he did), so I'm sure Dave's already anticipating more idiots coming after him claiming this show proves him wrong some how. He's more or less insinuated he feels the whole subject is done to death, but when something like this comes up he has to talk about it again.

Dave made a point of saying that wasn't true, Liz got hired by Zane Bresloff.

Historically strong? No, but it's made strong improvements from the 2000s death era. The thing about Japanese wrestling is that the only TV shows now are on late hours, so them able to grow as much as they have is quite an impressive feat.

Part of the issue is a lot of the creative types in wrestling don't want to work for a company owned by a right wing propaganda machine. Like, as obnoxious Vince can be at least he's not writing must-read op eds for local newscasts. I realize this might skirt the Pro Wrestling Only line, but as we've seen with David Starr it's an issue ROH has to deal with and so far they haven't dealt with it very well.

It would seem that if nothing else Sasha is rubbing a lot of folks the wrong way. I'm getting the impression she's probably getting the "mark for herself" rep like Bret had because they both gave a shit about giving the best performance and would get vocal if shit didn't make sense.

Yet if the rumored Turner deal comes to fruition, they would instantly be the #2 promotion in the US just based on that. Granted everything could end up worse than the most awful Russo TNA/2000 WCW mashup possible, but AEW is more or less getting handed the greatest opportunity any non WWE company has had since Billionare Ted decided he wanted to put a rasslin show on Monday nights.

He did point out no footage came out of Brock throwing the belt at Vince until the WWE 24 doc a year later.

Hogan was on Twitter being passive aggressive about how in his opinion the doc was just okay and relied too much on one person's version (he was clearly mad Linda was so much of the focus), only to have the official account for the series to reply mentioning they asked him to contribute and he said no. It was quite the self-owning.

I thought Satin was taking the piss as our UK friends might say, but he followed up that tweet with one saying he heard the same story from four different sources. So.....yeah.
