Yeah my stream is back but is in "SD to reduce buffering/crashing" mode.
-
Stream crashed for me on 360.
-
It's a sad state of affairs when I was legit surprised that Dolph won a match.

Spanish team doesn't get the fancy SummerSlam design for their announce table, RACISM~!
-
Oh shit, Spanish and German announce teams, There's some serious tables getting crushed tonight.
-
Been doing that and a few times of buffering for me, thought it was because I was using my 360 for the first time to live stream (my PS3 is in the middle of surgery to replace a power supply).

I think the problem with Gorilla is that he didn't have anyone to work with towards the end that worked with him as well as Jesse and Heenan did, plus you have to think his health issues played a part as well. Another issue was probably how the presentation changed. There was no one better in the 80s calling shows that were 90% squashes or jobber vs jobber matches and make them entertaining like he was. By the 90s, it was a different style and he didn't always fit.

Wow, surprised you picked Cena to win.
-
Considering Cena's promos where he says he'll never lose and Brock will have to kill him, it seems like they are setting up a finish like Austin vs Bret where he passes out or gets KO'd instead of getting pinned/tapping out. I just don't see how they could have Brock lose in his first match after ending the streak.

In NYC? Considering the costs are too high for even WWE to run there on an regular basis anymore, I'd say that's why.

Those old *PPV Name* Reports used to be a real good way to hype upcoming shows, and it's really something they should go back to now in the Network era.

Dave uses this argument all the time, and while it's not wrong, it's a self fulfilling prophecy because they haven't even tried to create someone to take his place until Roman Reigns came along. Ever since WWE became all about the brand and the WWE UNIVERSE it's been established that the company is the star. Since Cena was the last guy established as a difference making star prior to that, he's been the defacto #1 draw and merch seller since they've been making a conceited effort to not create a star that might become bigger than wrestling and have the gall to want to leave at some point.

I used to think Russo was being some sort of obstinate troll to keep insisting his ideas were golden, but I'm starting to believe he has some sort of cognitive dissonance (delusions maybe?) where he seems to honestly believe it. He's like a real life Scooby Doo villain where his plans would have saved WCW and TNA if it wasn't for those meddling kids.
-
Yeah, not saying he's better than the others listed here but I love how TNA has been promoting Lashley as a Ric Flar/Goldberg hybrid.

You'd think it wouldn't be hard for either group to fill a 15,000 or so seat arena in the third largest metro area in the world population wise.

Anyone I've ever heard speak about it who would know has said there really isn't such a thing we'd call "smark communities" in Mexico. Internet usage isn't like it is here, and there's not really places like here or DVDVR. People are excited about Alberto but it's either because it's the guy they saw on RAW or the guy they knew as Dos Caras Jr. coming back.

Nah, I think they're just sorta ok. They're going to have the same problem Tensai had. They look fine tossing around tiny jobbers in NXT, but when they get to the main roster and everyone's closer to their size they'll lose a lot of their appeal.

Loss and Chris can do the pitch, and then Will comes in at the end and threatens to DDT anyone who doesn't sign up.

So reading the historical WON that was just posted really illustrated how much of a clusterfuck was going on backstage in 1997 WWF. I never knew Shamrock took HBK's place in the Canadian Stampede 10 man tag (although it makes perfect sense), and it fills in the gaps on what led Vince to decide to do what he did at Survivor Series. To paraphrase Chris Rock's take on OJ, I ain't saying Vince should have screwed him.....but I understand.
-
Almost comes off like this is Sheamus' punishment for missing time for having a bad flu. We all know how Vince feels that people get sick as a personal affront to him.
-
I would say the nausea inducing shaky cam (best/worst examples were during Shield beatdowns) is the top of my Awful Kevin Dunn Trope list. i think guys always being in their gear is more a Vince quirk, so he gets a pass on that. Not so much for the thing where someone has to hold their reaction at the end of a backstage promo for an extra 15-20 seconds before the scene ends like someone doing a spoof on bad soap opera actors.

They are missing the boat beating people over the head with the $9.99 gimmick. Other than PPVs, they aren't telling you what you get for that price. From what they mention on TV, you'd get the impression the only thing they show on the network are PPVs and a new season of Slam City starting soon. One thing I've always had branded into my brain in my years of working jobs where you had to upsell is to never lead with price, lead with value. Tell 'em all the cool features your widget has, then knock 'em over with the low low cost. Come to think of it, WWE's approach to the network is exactly the same as co workers I've had who weren't meeting their sales quotas and get desperate.... "come on, why don't you wanna buy this, it's only $9.99!"

Oh my god, a Heyman and Cena heel pairing would be off the charts.
-
I know they've done the "Cena overcomes the monster" deal a million times, but I don't recall him so explicitly stating he's going to use heel tactics to win before. I did like how they covered Cena winning before by stating Brock wasn't 100% and it took everything Cena had to win, so with Brock healthy Cena is facing certain doom.

WWE tried to enforce non competes internationally until Brock defeated them in court when he went to New Japan and they tried to stop him.
