Watching Nitro and I got to the one where Madusa shows up and throws the WWF Women's belt in the trash can. It's been so long I forgot the best part was after she left, Eric just casually pulls the belt out (and helpfully shows it to the camera) to confirm it's the real thing with a look on his face like "huh, how about that".

Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but Jim "clawmaster" Zordani passed away late Friday night/Saturday morning. I believe he posted here as claw64, and besides being the go-to guy for results of seemingly every wrestler ever, he was a fun guy to interact with online.

That archive is amazing on so many levels. It's rare enough that there's that much footage from the 50s existing in one place, let alone somewhere willing to clean it up and make it publicly available like that. I wonder if there's other archives sitting on a shelf somewhere that might come to light because of this.

I've mentioned it could cause issues before, but I really hope Triple H doesn't do his usual hype man role for the Mayweather fight tomorrow considering the national debate on domestic violence going on actually prompted someone to finally confront Floyd on his unsettling history of beating women.

Not to mention there were a few songs they had to dub out due to ongoing lawsuits, then put them back in when it was settled. Plus I can't even imagine how much of a pain in the ass it had to have been to go back and un-blur the scratch logos from all the Attitude Era stuff after that got settled.

WWE is getting a new distributor, and that site seemed to think that meant WB is buying the actual library.
-
Everyone seems to be reacting like WWE is giving up on the network, but if you actually read the story it seems like WWE is just looking for a new company to maintain their library.

Well the guy still throws tantrums in the ring when fans heckle him, so just because he graduated from bag pooping doesn't mean the guy is a paragon of maturity these days.

I don't recall anyone else having their contracts extended, the usual MO was to just to let people's deals run out and not re sign them. I wonder if there's any kind of recourse for Rey since it's clear they are singling him out with this. Not to mention considering Alberto apparently has enough ammo for him to go to AAA and more or less keep doing his WWE gimmick, you'd think they wouldn't want another example of them picking on a Mexican guy.

Mike Sempervive has an ongoing thread on the WON board where he shares replies from folks he knows in WWE being asked questions on various topics. Someone asked about political leanings and the reply was Vince and Dunn are so far to the right all the elevators in Stanford have two monitors: one for the WWE Network and another for Fox News. Not that it surprises me, but it does make for a good source of jokes about which network tries to shape their viewers' opinions more.

Not only that, they've done a reunion of sorts with Savio, Miguel Perez, and Huracan Castillo in WWC this summer.

The Jim Ross Is A Grouchy Hateful Vile Human Being thread
sek69 replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
Considering how much Vince considers appearance when it comes to announcers, there's no way it didn't come into play. I don't doubt there were creative differences that got the ball rolling, but I'd be willing to wager significant money the first time he saw JR afterward his initial reaction wasn't "no fucking way I let this guy go on my TV like that". -
My point was HHH is smart enough to know he needs the best talent available to make the Performance Center and NXT look as good as possible (especially since he knows Kevin Dunn is going to immediately bury everyone to Vince). If someone comes to him and says "this guy is good, we should give him a deal" he usually does. I guess he should get credit for being more progressive than Vince at that aspect I guess. At least he was willing to entertain the possibility that someone can be a top star and not be a jacked-to-the-gills type of guy.

Well it helps that he made the developmental system his legacy defining project. I honestly doubt they'd give most of those guys a shot otherwise.

Well I sure wasn't expecting to see Zayn/Neville vs Kidd/Breeze on Raw tonight.

It is mentioned in the latest Figure Four, and it also mentions specifically it being a title shot for the "OMG CENA'S WINNING" crowd.

The sad thing is this is exactly what they did with Classics on Demand, big initial push then it got forgotten about when it wasn't the hot new plaything anymore. The difference of course is they didn't change their whole business model to bank on it being the main income provider.

Could it be some kind of licensing hangup with Google? I know there was the issue with Apple wanting too big a cut being the reason the Apple TV wasn't listed on the official support list at first, maybe something similar going on here?

It does really expose what I think is one of the main flaws in modern WWE: writers who over script to prove their worth creating material to be read by folks trained to be wrestlers rather than actors. Some folks have the charisma to overcome it, but the poor Bellas look completely overmatched at every turn.

Anyone else having issues signing in to WO.com? I keep getting a message saying my password doesn't match or I don't have an account. I have recurring billing set up and I didn't get any emails saying there was a problem with anything.

From sending out feelers via dirt sheets, to trolling them on Raw, it really is the circle of life.

So a few days after a ton of celebrity nude pix get leaked on the internet, we get full moon shot from Rosa on Main Event that they just happened to be late cutting off on the live feed. Call me cynical, but the timing seemed suspicious,

To the surprise of no one Sam is not going to be on the show, but Jerry Springer will be to moderate a discussion with the Bellas. Just in case you were afraid this angle wasn't Wrestlecrap enough yet.

Rick Rude is a weird case for me. I loved him in the NWA teaming with Manny, but his WWF run did nothing for me until he feuded with Warror. He's tops on the "sucks things ended too soon" list for me. Also from rewatching on the network, I realized I was selling short pretty much the whole 1995 WWF roster. Growing up a JCP/WCW fan I just dismissed it all as stupid cartoon crap, and booking/character wise a lot of it was, but damn if these guys didn't try their ass off to make it work.

Bryan's Ice Bucket video is tremendous: (in before "better booked than current WWE" comments)
