Reading about these findings, I can't help but think of the story my mom once told me. She worked as an aide in a nursing home and one of the patients was a former heavyweight boxer who had Alzheimer's. Now he was old, but he still had a powerful punch. My mom was able to be one of the few staff to avoid getting knocked the fuck out by realizing that in Jerry's mind he was still a boxer and he was thinking the people trying to put him in bed were his opponents. My mom talked to him like she was his corner man and was able to get him to do what she wanted without him getting violent. I guess my point is that brain damage is bad enough, but if it's affecting someone who had a career in a violent business (boxing/football/wrestling) they're going to revert to that mindset. Maybe that's why Benoit used the crossface on Daniel, he thought he was back in the ring.

Isn't Flair up to his eyeballs in debt to his ex-wife? I didn't think he had "fuck you" money.

Man, that Regal/Finlay match in the Shorties section is all kinds of stiff. Regal ends up with the SHOOT~! crimson mask from it getting MMA-esque in its stiffness. You also get Finlay with the mullet/porno stache combo and Dusty on commentary. That's pretty much wrestling defined.

Aren't people automatically added to the list once they become eligible?

DVD #2: Rock & Roll Express vs Rick Rude & Manny Fernandez
sek69 replied to Loss's topic in DVD Discussion
Was this the match that was used as the title change when Rude left a few months later? -
If the RAW spoilers on PWspyware are correct, then it seems Regal and Umaga were written out.

It also seems like Chikara seems to do things for the sake of being wacky, which often is one of those "a little goes a long way" type of deals.

"They may take away our steroids, but they will never take............OUR FREEDOM!@!!@! (also our HGH since they can't test for it). LOL @ them using the "putting smiles on faces" line on da boyz in da back. It makes their appearances on TV look a little less pathetic if they use that line to everyone.

It would appear that testing for anti-estrogen drugs would in theory even catch those with the means to avoid other methods of detection.

Well the removal of You-Know-Who from of WWE history limited most of the Smackdown Six matches I would guess. Also, that's a pretty unfortunate title considering recent events.

Dan Wahlers is ANGRY!!!! This column is completely hilarious as Young Master Dan apparently is just now aware of what anyone with a functioning frontal lobe knew roughly five minutes after WWE initially announced its Wellness Policy. OMGWTFBBQ~! A wrestling company full of carnies has been lying to you! The policy was all a sham!. Jesus Christ, am I just that jaded or does it seem like Wahlers needs water wings and a helmet to eat soup? Nevermind, it's definitely the latter.

I get the online version of the Multichannel News (think WON for the TV industry) emailed daily, and today's headline was about the WWE suspensions. Considering they've been pimping Bonnie Hammer getting inducted in the Broadcasting and Cable HOF, this has to be a little embarrassing for her.

The best is how Kennedy went to Stephanie to ask if he could respond to TEH EVIL MEDIA~!, get told no, then go to Vince because he just HAD to get his side of the story out (BAH GAWD!). Doesn't anyone in the whole company ever stop for just a second to see how a grand majority of the reason they have the rep they do is because of how they respond in cases like this? The most horrible thing that could happen to company takes place, and they can only react by sending guys out making hilariously false statements and trying to kayfabe the real world as if the news was just another segment on RAW.
-
So is Ken Kennedy the biggest douchebag in pro wrestling right now or what? After playing company stooge to the point of embarrassment, it comes out he was getting drug shipments up to February 2007.
-
It seems kind of silly for WWE to act like they're taking some sort of high ground by not naming names until after 11/1, when it's going to be obvious when 3/4ths the roster is off TV. Speaking of, with this many suspensions I would think WWE is going to have to address this on air at some point, even a total revival of kayfabe won't accept that many guys just vanishing off TV.

WWE.com lists its Greatest SummerSlam Moments and # 7 is Randy Orton becoming the youngest World Champion by beating an Unnamed Opponent in 2004. There's the clue that the Canadian crowd was 100% against Orton, but other than that, its not nearly as awkward as you'd imagine. However the results page lists both participants as well as the photo gallery showing a certain T-rex armed former champion from behind being bodypressed by young Randall.

I don't even know if you're being serious at this point, but from what I can gather Meltz is seen as a joke in serious MMA circles. I don't know if that's true or not since I only follow MMA at the most basic level, but what I've seen is the mere mention of the WON as MMA journalism causing massive LOLz Also, isn't the award "Wrestler of the Year"? How can you have a non wrestler up for it? If it was Entertainer of the Year or Draw of the Year I'd agree with you 1000%. -

If Randy Couture were to win the award, would he even be aware of it? -

I know, but I get the feeling he's going to get pushed hard for it. If it was Fighter of the Year or Awesomest Dude of the Year, I'd have no problem with it. -

Which is ridiculous, considering he's a MMA-ist and not a wrestler. -
Was the fast-count-that-wasn't at Starrcade 97 a legit screwup or something more nefarious? I always heard Hogan somehow got to Nick Patrick and convinced him not to do it, which sounds like BS but then crazier stuff was going on in WCW. Also it doesn't seem like someone like Nick would screw up the most important part of the match and make everyone involved look like a choad.

Yeah but wrestling retirements aren't permanent unless brought about by death. Also, and I'm not saying it's incorrect, but why is Moolah always discounted as a "no" vote with no explanation given? I would think given the lowered standards of US women's wrestling she'd be a lock but it's not like the world is a lesser place if she never gets voted in. Just wondering why she gets the automatic dismissal all the time.
-
They found her for RAW the next night too. That still ranks up there with one of the most disgusting moments in wrestling history for me.

I seriously didn't know the Steiners were thought of by anyone as anything more than guys who stiffed a lot of dudes and had a run in New Japan when WCW was sending a lot of talent over there. I never realized there was a sense of the Steiners being thought of as HOF-worthy in any non-ironic sense. I mean, they had some good matches, but c'mon. Scott had a much better career as a singles worker and no one would suggest he's HOF worthy.
