  1. I know Masters doesn't deserve the push he's getting, but since they committed to pushing him what was the point to have him job to HBK?
  2. You know, no matter how bad Meltz wants it, WWE vs UFC is not the new Monday Night War. All that's going on is some eye-poking between WWE and Spike, trying to mess with each other's debut nights. There's not going to be much counter-programming going on past the debut week unless TNA gets a Monday night slot at some point.
  3. What's the deal with Masters anyway? I don't think he's hoss material, what's getting him the Jesus Push?
  4. I remember reading somewhere that people in WWE thought that Frankie Kazarian felt that he "knew the business better than WWE" because he didn't agree with how they were handling his career. I wonder if they're the same people who think that anyone who didn't get over in WWE first "doesn't know how to work". I've never seen a system so geared to make people fail than WWE. If you've gotten over in other feds and have input on how your career should go, then you're accused of having an ego problem. If you put things entirely in WWE's hands, then you're told you don't know how to work if you don't instantly catch on to WWE Main Event Style. Of course if you're a hoss it doesn't matter, since you'll get put on TV immediately, regardless of your actual ability or skill level.
  5. Nice to see ROH decided to finally put their belt on someone who isn't signed to a WWE contract.
  6. Punk hurt himself in his first OVW match, so HHH can relax for now.
  7. It's three full PPVs in one set. I do wonder, TNA was giving some of the proceeds from the Lockdown DVD to Chris Candido's family, are they doing this with the set too?
  8. I know Barry Windham was known to be a party guy even by 80s standards, so I'd venture to guess he's either still boozing or he's feeling the effects of all his previous partying. It really makes me sad to hear that, he was one of my favorite wrestlers growing up, he really could have been a much bigger star.
  9. Didn't Hogan quit in 1993 because he wanted to be the indestructable superhero champion like he was before and even Vince saw that no one was buying it?
  10. I don't see anyone but completists who want every WWE DVD buying this.
  11. I like their in-ring work, but personality wise they're awfully bland. They remind me of the Eaton-Condrey version of MX only without Corny.
  12. Turning AMW heel could at least add some spice to what was starting to become a stale gimmick. Giving JJ the belt back seems like a big hit of the reset button. Your champ is supposed to be your biggest draw, and JJ has proven time and again he just isn't capable of drawing. I was talking to Will on AIM when I read about this, and I understood why they didn't want Raven holding the belt when they started on Spike, but putting on someone so terminally un-over is baffling. It's even more puzzling they'd do this now, since I think they're just doing best-of shows with the Impact! downloads before the Spike debut. Casual fans are going to turn to Spike and wonder why Raven isn't champ anymore.
  13. I'm thinking along those lines too. Either he's going to drop it on the first Spike show or they'll start a program leading to him dropping it at the PPV.

  15. In some cases yes. In others, they don't have a leg to stand on. Some of the guys they're harrassing (I think Kidman and Justin Credible at least) used their ring names before they ever worked for WWE or a company that was bought by WWE. There's also the argument that (besides the argument that guys they release are by definition not huge draws and shouldn't pose a threat to the company) there's tons of former WWE guys working the indy circuit who WWE have never gone after. Hell, Mick Foley was working for ROH and I'm sure WWE copyrighted stuff like Mr. Socko (since they made Socko shirt, I'm sure they did) and they didn't go after him. Not to mention the 4.7 million Doink the Clowns across the indy circuit.
  16. I can't wait for the day someone calls them on their bullshit and challenges them to back up their threats. WWE's legal team has proven all they're good at is stepping on their own dicks, and now they want to argue guys they already determined can't draw are somehow going to damage WWE by working indy shows.
  17. Besides the Dudley Boyz issue, now even Ivory is being told she can't use that name anymore. Is Vince afraid TNA is going to shoot to the moon on the drawing power of Ivory, Spike Dudley, and Kidman?
  18. So what was the deal with him no-showing the PPV? Was it a travel fuck-up or did he simply not show?
  19. Isn't the female tag team that faced the Jumping Bomb Angels the Glamour Girls, or did Lorelai and Rory go back in time from the WB?
  20. Well whattya know, the Torch was wrong again. Me = not shocked.
  21. Interesting. I know the X Divsion belt has "NWA TNA" on it, but on their programming and website they never call it an NWA title, it's always the TNA X Division title. I hope the "trial period" doesn't require TNA to get unattainable ratings like the deal they had with ECW did. Wasn't ECW getting higher ratings than whatever TNN was showing in that timeslot before?
  22. WWE just informed Puder that they won't be picking up his contract when it ends, kind of like how they told the Dudleys in advance they weren't going to pick up theirs either. It's a shame, the kid seemed to be really getting it in OVW. I wasn't expecting a callup after he pwned Angle on WWE TV, but I hope he sticks with wrestling.
  23. from WWE.com He was teaming with Ken "Mr. Kennedy" Anderson in OVW, so I guess this was expected. He had a good Ken Shamrock vibe in the matches I saw, he'd destroy people UFC style. I guess with Spike using Ultimate Fighter to stick it in WWE's ass, they didn't want a UFC style guy on the payroll.
  24. Another good part is when Ken Anderson comes out after he debuted on Smackdown to announce his name change to Ken Kennedy. He comes out and talks about meeting with "Vinny" who tells him he needs a new name because there hasn't been an Anderson on TV in 57 years, so he picked Vince's middle name. He then instructs the crowd from now on to refer to him as "MISTER...KENNEDY....*jumps on the ringside desk so his ass (with the "Mr. Kennedy" on his tights) is level with the camera*......KENNNN....EDD...EYYYY" That promo alone probably sealed his promotion to WWE.
  25. Brian's gonna convert the tape as soon as I get my ass to the post office, which should be in the next day or so.
