    WWE TV 04/23 - 04/29

Is it an outdated mentality to believe that, at least partially, some fans may have their judgment clouded by attractiveness? Peyton is really pretty. Alexa is really pretty. In the past, someone like Trish or Sunny were really pretty. I firmly believe it's a lot easier to overlook some shortcomings of a performer if you're attracted to them & don't mind seeing them on your screen. In example, I'm really attracted to Becky Lynch and I think she's the best female on the WWE roster. If I were less attracted to her, would I still believe that? Not sure. But I know I sound like a neanderthal right now so I should probably shut up...
  2. There's a lot of things that are different nowadays. Firstly, not to overlook it, is the damn internet. You can look up & watch wrestling 24/7 now. You can talk about wrestling 24/7. You can always find a show if you want. Secondly, as mentioned (and partially because of the internet I would argue, but also the TV) is straight-up overexposure. NO ONE feels like a star when you see them ALL the time. RAW is too long. Smackdown is unneeded. And there's no competition so there's not a spark to light a fire under anyone's ass. It's just a job. Also Vince McMahon is 72-years-old now. You can't work that hard for that long forever. He had to slowdown sometime. WWE is publicly traded. The PPV model is gone. It's all about shareholders & WWE Network Subscribers now, so the way they present the show has changed significantly. Heels have merch & break kayfabe on Twitter & show that they're cool people... and no one wants to boo them when they're on TV because they're cool. Then a guy like Roman comes out & he's supposed to be a 1980's Bob Backlund or Hulk Hogan babyface & that shit just doesn't work like that anymore. It's dull. It's predictable. It's repetitive. And the fans turn on it, so then WWE keeps pushing him like he's Hogan but has him lose the Wrestlemania blow-off matches. Is Hogan the same Hogan if he loses to Andre, Savage & Slaughter?
  3. That's not what I said. And no. I can think for myself.
  4. The Rock was over as both a heel & a face admittedly but it was his initial failed babyface run that turned him heel & made him into a star. Yokozuna? Better as a heel. Umaga? Heel. Headshrinkers? Heels. Wild Samoans? Heels. Even the Usos have been a lot better since turning heel. Other than a Rikishi babyface run, most of that bloodline has prospered at being heel. Peter Maivia was before my time & I've not seen any of his work but I think he was a babyface but don't know for sure so don't want to say. But for whatever reason, they don't want to try a heel run with Roman Reigns. It's really odd.
  5. Kevin Nash invented Twitter back when it was 180 characters and under. When it used to be Bob Backlund regulation.
  6. Roman should have won the Wrestlemania match with Brock the first time when they did the stupid swerve shit with Seth Rollins and the Money-in-the-Bank cash-in (which needs to go away, by the way). Everything after that just compounded it.
  7. At least they got the winner right. Way too many jobbers in that match though. Goodness.
  8. Looks like Jericho has been eating and drinking a lot since Wrestle Kingdom.
  9. Titus gonna be the new Shockmaster.
  10. I'm over at the Titus thing. The commentary is off the rails.
  11. I don't know who Babatunde is, they said he was from NXT (I don't remember him) but he's definitely a hoss.
  12. Thank God they sent a fucking star out there. Crowd wasn't even counting with the countdown anymore.
  13. DAMNIT LUKE!
  14. There he is! Top guy brother Luke Gallows! The good brother. Look at the size of this man! That's my pick. No way you can get him over the top. Plus, he has SO much experience. He's made a name for himself all over the world, including in the land of the rising sun! I think the size and the experience can get him to the end of this!
  15. DAMNIT KONNOR!
  16. THERE HE IS! Top Guy Konnor! That's my pick to win it. He's too damn big. How can you get that hoss over the top!? This is his moment to shine. Gonna get the WWE Universe behind him for sure!
  17. Oh shit, Scott Dawson. He's got this! He's a bruiser, ladies & gentlemen!
  18. DAMNIT BO!
  19. TOP GUY Bo Dallas! That's my pick right there. He's the winner! He's a thoroughbred. Comes from a good bloodline. This is his moment to shine and get the WWE Universe behind him!!
  20. TOP GUY Primo Colon!
  21. When you have 50 entrants, you're going to have A LOT of jobbers... I feel like there's maybe eight entrants that won't be sheer disappointments.
  22. I wonder what Jim Cornette thinks about a match worked like this on his list of shit he hates on.
  23. Just put him on your ignore list. Forums are a lot easier that way. Trust me. I'm firmly in the he should still be banned camp, btw. I think I get what Dave Meltzer is trying to say this time with this tweet. Having an all-female PPV doesn't make up for them being excluded from this one. The way he went about trying to make that point is going to ruffle some feathers though. Goodness.
  24. Nope. This show started at noon for me. It's now 3PM. I got up just before it started after sleeping in. The time is great for me.
  25. On paper, show looked great. In execution, leaving a hellava lot to be desired. Honestly, feels like a lot of folks just ain't got their hearts in it. Working with less enthusiasm than you see on a house show. Ladder match was OK. Styles match was OK with a bad finish. Not any good matches so far. Quite a bit of mediocrity.
