Fuck, Snow and Scorp would have rocked it in the mid card WCW scene. I would have liked to have seen Taka and the M-Pro guys go there too
-
While he may not have the masterpieces he does have a great body of work like you said. I think his style mixed with just about anybody and he was very versatile as a tag and singles wrestler. I would've loved for him to go to WCW with Bret and face guys like Jericho, Rey, Eddie, Benoit, Regal, etc.

I disagree. Hall had plenty of good matches in WCW, tags or single. And he was a good worker, much better than he was ever given credit for. The ladder matches with Shawn are as much his work as Shawn's to me, especially the second one. Was he past his prime in WCW and was he lazier here than he was in WWF ? Absolutely. Hall was also 38 in 1996. But the "Hall sucked in WCW" talking point is a myth to me. His ladder match with Bam Bam on January 25 1999 was quite good, and he worked hard at making it good. Hell, he worked hard to try and make Piper look half-decent, which was a lost cause to begin with. Hall gets a bad rep because of the hate for the nWo, but his work in WCW, although not as good as his WWF work, doesn't deserve that kind of bashing to me. The "Hall does the job but still makes people look bad" stuff is vastly overstated too. To be honest it never struck me at all. Hall was big on comedy goofying when he worked as a heel in WCW, and he was fun at it. Can you name a few good Hall singles matches though? I only saw the Bigelow one which i'm in the process of watching with my 99 WCw watchings. Im not saying theres no chance he had good matches its just that none stuck out to me and what i remember wasnt good

Wow, how long was that run? i only ever remember seeing the Perfect match from Mania. I didnt realize he had an extended run as that character.
-
Easily one of my favorite guys of all time. He probably gets more love because of his death, which a lot of people do but i loved Owen, especially as a heel. His matches with Bret and Bulldog were always good. His match with Liger in 90 or 89 was really good. I personally loved him as a tag worker. Havent seen too much of High energy but i really liked his teams with Yoko and DBS and the Jarrett team was actually pretty good too. I always thought he was a great dick head heel and got the most out of every opponent. He had a great match with a small guy like Kid and then worked a great almost shoot style with Shamrock. His feud in 94 with Bret is one of my all time favorite feuds and most of it as because of him. I havent seen his Calgary stuff though so if there's anything worth checking out would someone chime in

Oh his WCW run was the shits by far. Half of it was probably because he was drunk/high out of his mind and the other half was being so damn lazy and getting paid out the ass. I cant think of one good Scott Hall singles match from WCW and thats saying a lot considering how big of a character he was and how much impact he had. As Razor Ramon i thought he was pretty good, matches against Kid, Goldie, Shawn, Diesel, Bret amongst others. None of which compared to the ladder matches but they werent awful either.

Oh so it was Knight not Canterbury. That sucks, i had a good image in my head of Canterbury having a nice little Memphis run. Man i wonder who else had a short forgotten Memphis run like that.
-
Whoa i had no idea either of the Godwinns feuded with Lawler. What year was this?
-
It depends on what you consider good. Doing a rolling clothesline and a half ass x factor before putting on a lazy submission isnt good to me. Guys like Juvy and Rey bumping all over the place despite some of his moves taking a day to execute was more of an impressive performance to me. Granted some of Konnans matches were decent but i dont think that had anything to do with him.
-
I completely agree with this. They were change the channel bad. If someone doesnt have at least a few matches or memorable moments that pique my interest than to me they're useless. To me thats how i feel about the Harris Bros.
-
ok well if being over doesnt matter then yes i would say Konnan is one of the top guys who got away with it. Some of his stuff with the WCW luchadores in the beginning was decent at best but i dont think any of it was his doing. They just bumped their ass off for him
-
I could put Konnan in there too but at least he was over in 98 although most people were over in 98.
-
I know people will defend him but i never understood why Virgil had a job in a major promotion for as long as he did. I think he is one wrestler i have no desire to ever watch and he would make me change the channel if he were wrestling. In WCW it was even worse.

I fucking loved the crazed old man Backlund of 94/95. It was crazy to see someone as bland as he came off become such an awesome heel and cut such degrading douche bag promos. He could also still go in the ring and put on quite a few entertaining matches. The Bret matches are good and the Action Zone tag is very good. Not sure if anything else stand out from that time frame though i'd have to look it up

My friend works as a diesel mechanic and has only said that he works with him sometimes. I believe its a few times a year kind of deal but i guess he has shared a few stories with him before and talked about CWF. I would only assume that he works on the side or as someone who can do business with my friends company. I'll have to ask him if he's talked to him lately, this was about a year and a half ago or so.

I know there used to be someone who sold sets like these on ioffer so maybe that's where he went? The same person had a lot of Georgia and Mid-Atlantic

Ok thanks man. I remember a fan asking Konnan if he was going to the WWE on his podcast and he said he couldnt because he was under contract with AAA. I think Konnan didnt want to face the reality of maybe losing someone with so much talent.
