[1994-05-28-SMW-TV] Dirty White Boy and Jake Roberts
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in May 1994
Thatcher’s timing is not the best. Nobody is interested in doing an interview. Roberts still has his hair. Damn good promo. He switches back and forth between first and third person trying to explain his reasons. Jake blames others and closes that what happened was not his fault. -
[1994-05-27-AAA-Triplemania II-C] Konnan vs Jake Roberts (Hair vs Hair)
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in May 1994
The Warlord! He walks around ringside hold the chair. Ref takes it away as to try tell him to not be so obvious. Jake pulls out his Thriller music video selling. Warlord seemed confused at times what to do. Sloppy stuff. No short trim for Roberts as they shave is head completely.- 6 replies

I thought this was a tornado rules match at first as lots of guys staying the ring for long periods of time. Referees werent doing much either. Finally clears out and as I type that the ring fills up again. Lizmark's hurricarana pin move is ridiculous as Santanico's shoulders would not be down continous for the three count. Funny visual though. Great comedy spots by La Parka. He has got the timing down for that stuff. Third fall is a bit of a mess. Black Cat ends up getting beat down on by the rudos. There is also a stare down by the entrance ramp that I don't know enough about. Seems like Art Barr and pals wanted to crash the party but get cut off.

[1994-05-24-ECW-TV] Interview: Paul E. Dangerously / Interview: Terry Funk
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in May 1994
Paul E talks about how we hate hype and promotion and proceeds to hype up Sabu vs. Scorpio for the next ECW show. Funk seems to get a bit lost in thought during middle of his promo and goes the basic hype route the rest of the way. -
Before the “Please don’t try this at home” disclaimers. WWF is starting to recycle some of their actors from previous segments.

Great brawl. They beat each other up but didn’t have the cringe worthy stuff from the Stampede match where it seemed that there were really hurting each other. I liked Schultz using hockey stype of punches of Sags. Philly fans were popping big for that. Cool guitar shot by Payne afterwords. This match in a way felt fresh to me.

[1994-05-22-WCW-Slamboree] Ric Flair vs Barry Windham
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in May 1994
Last few minutes and it's a pretty good ending with Flair fighting of Col. Parker a couple times and winning with the flying body press off the top rope on to Windham. Flair looking like still the good guy for now.- 15 replies

[1994-05-22-WCW-Slamboree] Dustin Rhodes vs Bunkhouse Buck (Bullrope)
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in May 1994
Good match but I preferred the Stampede match to this. I am not a bullrope fan but they do a decent job with it. It didn't have blood but was still physical. These guys are good opponents for one another. Terry runs down to beat up Dustin and now we get some blood. -
Was a nice ceremony but they are not given enough time with it only being a segment on PPV. Race gets booed because of his current role in WCW. WWE gets this done right these days by giving members the whole evening. Philly fans behave for the most part.

[1994-05-22-WCW-Slamboree] Steven Regal vs Larry Zbyszko
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in May 1994
Impressed by Larry Z here. Philly crowd wasn't the most patient with the match. That wasn't necessary as was good match. Regal was throwing some great forearms and uppercuts throughout the match. -
[1994-05-22-WCW-Slamboree] Terry Funk vs Tully Blanchard
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in May 1994
Big ECW chant from Philly Fans for Terry Funk. He seems to yank some crutches out of the front row but they don't get used. Funk is in control for much of the match which ends up being short on time. Solie and Heenan are not a natural pair on commentary. Sherri is ringside. Hat Guy's hat gets the post match beat down.- 11 replies

[1994-05-21-WCW-Saturday Night] Interview: Ric Flair
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in May 1994
The Hogan talk is back as brought up by Gene of course. Flair is more aggressive in going after Hogan in this promo.- 6 replies

[1994-05-21-SMW-TV] Personality Profile: Jake Roberts
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in May 1994
So was the real story Jake forgetting the belt somewhere? Jake alludes to being out of shape but that's due to all those victory meals. Roberts also seem to be holding a very small flashlight in his hand which he uses to shine a light on things. -
[1994-05-21-SMW-TV] Tracy Smothers, Bruiser Bedlam and Jim Cornette
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in May 1994
Bedlam looks completely deranged standing there. Cornette talks trash about Smothers family and gets one in the face from Tracy. Bedlam destroys him and bunch of other guys who come down to try intervene. That was quite the beating. Smothers requests a Coal Miner's Glove match with Bob Armstrong agrees to. -
Lively crowd from the very start. Kawada blasting Misawa in the face with a kick as he was reaching out for the tag was awesome. He does it again when Kobashi irish whips him. Great stuff. Taue who so far has been okay in the match makes his mark by folding Kobashi's leg in the guard rail and kicking it repeatedly. Both Taue and Kawada working over Kobashi's knee and Kawada gives Misawa another shot on the apron. Taue with the snake eyes on the turnbuckle with Misawa having none of that. Taue returns the favor on flying elbow a attempt. Super heated elbow exchange with Misawa and Kawada. Misawa tagged out there a bit too early. Crowd was totally ready for more. Kobashi hits the moonsault but his knee is still hurting from earlier so he can't make the pin attempt. Everyone is just ignoring tags and desperately breaking up pinfall and big moves attempts. Kobashi tags in at one point and takes a drop kick to the knee. He then kicks the hell out of Kawada's knee. Kobashi another moonsault but again he can't make a complete cover due to the knee. That end sequence was insane. Pretty amazing to just watch that and see all the incredibly close two counts that you think will win it. I don't know where this will end up for my match of the year but it's best tag match so far and overall in top three.

[1994-05-20-SMW-Volunteer Slam III] Jake Roberts vs Dirty White Boy
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in May 1994
This felt way too long even though time was it wasn't. TV match was better as I preferred Jake's antics in that one. Roberts would have been better off being in tag team wrestling at this point as he can do what he does well but not have to be in the ring the whole time. Post match, Jake really sleazes things up and roughs up the Dirty White Girl in front of DWB.- 11 replies

Who was the play by play guy because he was indeed bad? Pitbull was coasting here until Taz came out. Mikey picks up the upset victory to win the Television title. Pitbull was pretty dumb here with his title on the line. Whipwreck is beginning his patch to the triple crown of titles for ECW.
