Thanks for explaining the match stipulation. That's actually a pretty cool match rule. One thing to quit but to actually run away to the back. Really good brawl. Lawler hits a piledriver on the floor which I think is it but Dream Machine survives. He proceeds to ram Lawler repeatedly into the ring post. Lots of punches thrown here also by both men. Good ones too. Getting a fireball to the face is a pretty believable reason to run away.

So Undertaker is apparently stealing six foot sandwiches. I hope he at least split it with Volkoff.

[1994-04-25-WWF-Raw] King's Court: Nikolai Volkoff
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
Lawler rules here getting to bust out his one liners on Volkoff. Nikolai has no money but has a front row seat. Taping must have been heavily papered. -
WWF raises $60K for Stanford Mayor campaign to do a PR promo. Wait, it went to a Library. How nice.

[1994-04-23-WCW-Saturday Night] Interview: Steven Regal
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
I would have liked to have seen the previous interview to see why Regal is all upset. He's not as polite as his last promo. Hopefully Regal gets his apology.- 6 replies

[1994-04-23-WCW-Saturday Night] Interview: Dustin Rhodes
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
Yeah, it is hard cause here I'm thinking he is no Dusty watching this. On it's own it would be a pretty decent promo as he is not done with Buck.- 5 replies

[1994-04-23-WCW-Worldwide] Interview: Steven Regal / Interview: Ric Flair
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
Regal with a very polite promo challenging Flair to a special match and gives us the rules. His Cup means more than Flair's strap. Flair accepts. -
Lawler was throwing some great punches form the clips. One of them was really sneaky looking as came from the side to Dream Machine's head. Machine looked to have taken quite a beating in the match. Cory seems to reverse up the win the battle but haven't won the war saying. Twice. I think. Cory gets all smart with Dream and is lucky to escape. Good pull apart to end with Dream getting Lawler really angry.

[1994-04-23-WWF-Superstars] Heartbreak Hotel: Mr. Perfect
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
They really like to run things into the ground. Felt at this time that Perfect's return at this time was so short that he wasn't even on TV other than WrestleMania. Mr. Perfect puts aside previous history with Shawn with a handshake to show that he is indeed a bad guy. I remember WWF promoting Luger/Perfect for a local house show post WM but it seems from the match results I'm going through that Perfect never wrestled. -
Not as good as their earlier match on the yearbook. Funk tries some crazy stuff here though. Ringside cameramen and ring announcers get in his way. Sign Guy fan in front row looks much heavier than he does later on. Funk is really determined to get a broken table into the ring. And breaks it further over his head. Post match has Tod Gordon trying to attack Eaton. Yeah, that's not going to work.

Ugh. How could this do anything but fail.

[1994-04-17-WCW-Spring Stampede] Ric Flair vs Ricky Steamboat
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
Really good points there Loss. Crowd is not fully behind Steamboat from the start. Flair obviously has his fans but people not supporting Steamboat enough will make it tough for this kind of match. They just don't seem to have the patience to sit and watch this. It could be because of the earlier matches which featured a lot of brawling and/or this match not really being with the times. I still think this is a pretty good technical match on it's own. Crowd picks up when Steamboat gets the figure four on which has Flair close to get the ropes a couple times but Steamboat pulling back. Steamboat with a bit of a brain fart pinning himself though. This probably needed a more clear finish.- 16 replies

[1994-04-17-WCW-Spring Stampede] Vader vs The Boss
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
I'm generally not a super heavyweight match fan but this was impressive. Vader is Vader but this is one of the better Boss Man matches I've seen. It's impressive to see guys this size throw each other around. Vader back body drops Boss over the ropes and he is so fortunate that he didn't land on his head. They exchange stiff punches with Vader getting bloodied. Boss hits some impressive looking suplexes on Vader. Dig that powerslam by Vader on Boss. Moonsault! Match wasn't always pretty but damn it fun. So this is the end of Boss Man gimmick as he loses his night stick and cuffs.- 11 replies

Super start to match with Rhodes just running down the ramp and flying over the ropes on to Buck. I was not a Bunkhouse fan back in the day so we will see how things are. Buck smashes a stick over Rhodes back and a part of it goes flying into the crowd. Yikes. Whipping him pretty good with belt also. Parker is amusing here with bouts of him cheering with glee and then throwing fits. Damn, this ended up being a really good match. Great brawling between the two as they make good opponents.

[1994-04-17-WCW-Spring Stampede] Rick Rude vs Sting
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
Got all weird there with Rude just looking around when trying to apply the Rude Awakening. Chair shot was a bit delayed too. Vader is just chilling out hanging ringside after originally doing a run in.- 8 replies

[1994-04-17-WCW-Spring Stampede] Cactus Jack & Maxx Payne vs Nasty Boys
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
Two referees assigned which is cool because you knew would be needed in a match like this. Match gets going right away. They are immediately beating the crap out of each other with weapons. Some pretty rough looking headshots with weapons. Cactus suplexing the table on Sags was great and then gets hit with a shovel! That was cool as Knobbs came out of nowhere with that. Camera works isn't the best here as they don't seem to know how to shoot this. Cactus bumping on to the floor was brutal. Glad that was the finish. Match was quite the sight to see.- 20 replies

Pretty big logo on Eddie's baseball hat there. Gilbert is fired up here and this is much better than the previous studio segment with him and Doug.

[1994-04-16-USWA-TV] Brian Christopher vs Dream Machine
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
Yeah, this wasn't bad but referee decision was not the best since he didn't even see the chain being used which it wasn't. Clever on Christopher's part though. -
[1994-04-16-WWF-Superstars] Heartbreak Hotel: Owen Hart

Not enough lines to feed Diesel though. Shawn continues to take shots at Bret calling him the Excellence of Excuses. Owen refers to Shawn as Heartbreak. Tyson must have been watching this. -
[1994-04-16-NJPW-Super J Cup] Wild Pegasus vs Great Sasuke
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
J Cup definitely delivered. I wil have to go back someday and watch whole tournament again. Pretty darn good day overall for wrestling in Japan. Great match that I still favor over the Sasuke/Liger match. Felt like Liger was a step above in that match and here it is a bit more even between the wrestlers. Really crisp between the two. Sasuke had a strong run in the tournament but would have been somewhat unrealistic for him to win the whole thing. By getting to the finals and losing he still comes off looking like a star.- 10 replies

[1994-04-16-NJPW-Super J Cup] Jushin Liger vs Great Sasuke
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
Liger was great here coming off so cocky throughout the match. Another excellent match. He felt he was the better man and probably underestimated Sasuke a bit. Sasuke's botches big move at the end but Liger's responses is great clapping and jeering Sasuke for falling down on the match. Liger's reaction was great as was able to react immediately and not just stand there staring at his opponent. They were still able to work the finish and the botch did add a bit more to it. Crowd seemed to be pleased with Sasuke winning.- 13 replies

[1994-04-16-NJPW-Super J Cup] El Samurai vs Great Sasuke
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
Better than I remembered it as haven't seen this in a long time. Felt like a sprint from the beginning. El Samurai really in control of the end but Sasuke out maneuvers him for the pinfall. Excellent match to watch.- 7 replies
