  1. What does Monday Night Messiah even means btw? He turns the ratings into shit?
  2. They can't be this stupid to NOT make Drew win after that elimination and playing off him staring Brock all match long right?
  3. That was one hell of a bump by Brock on that Claymore.
  4. Can Cain get in already so Brock doesn't get the elimination record?
  5. At least we have their 2010 match. yeah, Kofi stomping his head multiple times is sure the safer route. Bryan can get a concussion over pretty much anything depending on how he works a match. Shit, I'm way more worried about him working Sheamus than Ishii.
  6. No thanks. Him wrecking shit in Japan I can get behind though.
  7. We got the last great WWE run by any wrestler with his heel turn so you can't win them all.
  8. Holy shit that ending sucked
  9. The passion fo the DBry
  10. She's Cena and what people think Reigns is, combined.
  11. Can't wait for WWE24: The Triple H white wash documentary.
  12. When I thought Kawada couldn't had crazier takes than his WWE one he comes here and calls Di Caprio "Hollywood Ziggler". No amount of "bubbas" gonna save you from this one though
  13. Yuji Hino defends the ZERO1 World Heavyweight Title These two had my attention 1 minute in when they do a test of strength/struggle for control for an irish whip but to be honest, this has 7 minutes edited and even though it's only really noticeable once (at the very beginning after the irish wish spot), you can feel the match is kinda disjointed. The 17 minutes showed are a brutal hoss match though, it doesn't have all the nuances nor flow of Sekimoto vs Hino but it reaches an even higher level of viciousness - which is saying something - at first with an incredible chop battle, and then after Okabayashi busts Hino's eyelid open with a botched lariat...the receipts Hino dishes out after that shit are insane, and Okabayashi retaliates with no fucks given too, it's truly wild. Korakuen was weirdly tame, specially for a New Year's show. It's very much worth a watch, and again, if you are into heavy strikes and people trying to kill each other, this is pretty much right up your alley. But this lacked drama and I can't help but feel those missing 7 minutes could've helped give this more of a flow.
  14. The crowd was booing like crazy but that was the point, I can never figure out when a japanese crowd is just going along with a heat segment or is legit pissed off though. As someone who has been calling for Naito to win the main belt, I didn't see it as a big deal though it did feel like a western type angle and they could've save it for tomorrow's show. But again, I didn't mind it.
  15. I'm really happy they finally got the 40k paid for Night 1. 30k paid for Night 2 ( @MoS ) is really good but you gotta wonder if the biggest draw for the weekend was Ibushi challenging for the title instead of the double champion gimmick. The G-1 is different - and has way less tickets to sell - but when they book the big triple headers for the final 3 nights, the final one doesn't suffer in attendance even if night 2 has a bigger main event. Anyways, saw the final two matches. Jericho vs Tana showed how charisma can carry a match for long stretches. It was really fun watching these two play off each other. After the Red Shoes bump it got into a little lull but they picked it up for the ending. Good match. I could be forgetting one, but I thought Okada vs Naito was the best match they've had against each other since their 2012 Korakuen classic. Naito finally won the big one!
  16. The latter. And again, that was in response to a specific thing Makai said.
  17. This is getting too much into semantics but I don't think "modern epic" = "self conscious epic". I do think the latter has become more common in the last 18 years but regardless, I wouldn't call Okada/Ibushi that. I wasn't hoping to see a sprint at all, I knew Okada/ibushi wasn't going any less than 35+ minutes. I was just disputing the "You can't start at 10 straight away, you need things that make it the natural story" point Makai made. It's not like every Okada title defense needs/has to have this formula were he spends 10 to 15 minutes establishing a point that could be done in less than 5. Then it shouldn't be puzzling my man the "meaningful segment(s)" become more boring or annoying to me with longer matches, because they take too long. And in Okada matches they are even more glaring to me because of how incredible he is at coming up with great finishing sequences that are so long and dramatic.
  18. Like I've said, Naito's coronation has taken so long that Ibushi is getting "Naito'd" right now If somehow Okada is the one winning, that would be hilarious though.
  19. Didn't feel the point of the first third was establishing much to be honest. Okada asking for more aggression didn't need that much time for my liking. I didn't think the match gain much from it either. Ibushi tends to go "serious face/obliterate my opponent" mode often so it didn't feel like a big pay off at all to me, just something I expected to happen. I'd LOVE to see a sprint in a big New Japan main event to be honest, it's been so long since we've had one.
  20. It seemed packed as hell so that would be awesome. Was able to catch the final minutes of Naito vs White with both just hitting stuff and then Naito getting a W in very decisive manner. Okada vs Ibushi was the typical Okada match were the first third is completely useless. The second third picked up (had some scary bumps too) and the final third was incredible, to the point of the silly no selling doesn't matter. I was surprised at how quiet the crowd was for the Okada vs Naito confrontation at the end. Not sure they weren't that interested in a champ vs champ gimmick (would be really weird considering how much the show drew) or they just couldn't choose. Regardless, 2 years they were salivating for Naito and it didn't seem that way...we'll see how it turns out tomorrow.
  21. Watched last night's Bryan/Miz/Corbin main event. Two things stood out: 1.- The second half with just Bryan and Miz was pretty great. Only thing that bothered me was Miz kinda shrugging off a superplex. 2.- The lack of reaction for the finish.
  22. The PED diet is pretty much mandatory in puro. All seems to indicate that they don't destroy themselves with them, they just do it with the bumps they take.
  23. Ratings for the 3rd hour of RAW was 1.8 million. Have they had a viewership below 2 million on a non holiday edition of RAW before?? Also man, I wanna say none of us bought that bullshit ass segment. At least I hope we didn't .
  24. The hell? "Chica" is not misogynistic at all. It basically translates to girl or lady depending on the context. Out of everything Punk said, "chica" should be the least of Lana's problems
