    WWE Evolution

    Bitches be crazy, amirite?
  2. Smackdown matches are one of my *things*, so for the 1000th show today I wrote a little something about some of my absolute favourite blue brand matches. Check it out. Remember these? What are yours? http://placetobenation.com/15-smackdown-matches-to-see-before-you-die/
  3. I'm not remotely surprised that he got that pop, but I was thinking the same thing when he came out. The people that complain about Vince - especially on something like this when it's about literal human rights violations and murder - and then treat him like a babyface are... a fascinating bunch. WWE will never change because they know they can get away with it. Vince can get away with it. Not only get away with it, but remained beloved.
  4. Steven and I are back reviewing the Second Round of the Mae Young Classic!
  5. Just want to say I'm loving this series and I'm so glad you're doing it. The Shield are one of my favourite things, from the match quality to the presentation and booking. So far you've rated their matches in about the same order as me too.
  6. This week I talk about the Bella Twins - everyone else seems to be, why not me. From their debut to the FOREARM TO FUCKTOWN and why you're all crazy to doubt Nikki vs. Ronda. http://placetobenation.com/staceys-deep-dive-the-bellas-scourge-of-the-revolution/
  7. Count me in on the Alicia Fox fan club. That girl is WILD and I love her. Her getting things to do and TV time is one of the best things about 2018. What a survivor. I'm going to write something longer on her in the near future for my column for sure.
  8. I like this as a change anyway. I was asking for it to happen when Trish came out. And it means we get more of Trish and Mickie punching on like it's 2006.
  9. Ok I'm gonna need about 57 million more Nia vs. Ember matches.
  10. Well the point is it has nothing to do with this show or Australia being racist.* Because it's something that neither Nia herself or WWE has ever really mentioned so it's just not something a lot of people would be aware of. It's not kayfabe, like they're pretending she was born somewhere else. It's just not a thing. Like Kane randomly being from Madrid. How many people actually knew this? I sure didn't. And I'm the one from Sydney! I'm now kind of mad I had no idea all this time. Aussie Nia the Australian Wrestler! * Not denying this country is racist as fuck, but that's getting too far away from the topic.
  11. I know everything and I literally had no idea Nia was born in Sydney until right now. Nothing to do with us, I don't think anybody is even aware of it. It's never been mentioned on TV as far as I know, and they didn't even bring her. I wonder how long she lived in Sydney or if it's a Kane thing. I appreciate you waiting with baited breath for my review. When I get a moment I'll be back with some long form thoughts. In the meantime you can hear my initial reaction from after the show in audio form here: https://placetobe.podbean.com/e/ptbn-network-podblast-wwe-super-show-down-live-report/
  12. Folks, welcome to the Australian culture wars.
  13. *Ted DiBiase voice* I have arrived!
  14. The Torrie Wilson and Dawn Marie saga is one of the most ridiculous things ever seen on WWE television: a comedy feud full of rape, death and insanity. Take an acid trip down memory lane with me. http://placetobenation.com/staceys-divas-deep-dive-torrie-wilson-and-dawn-marie/
  15. Steven Graham and I are doing a mini series of podcasts this October covering women's wrestling content from WWE - the Mae Young Classic II and the Evolution PPV. We review the first round of the MYC here:
  16. Are you going to the show?
  17. I'm honestly not even sure what donsem is referring to there.
  18. One of the big guns this week as I look at Beth Phoenix and how for a monster heel she had a jam packed, creative, versatile career. I also get into why Beth was in like 90% of my dream matches growing up, with everyone from Gail Kim to Batista. http://placetobenation.com/staceys-divas-deep-dive-beth-phoenix-dream-match-dreamboat/
  19. Aksana dropping a knee like that was actually one of her moves, to be fair.
  20. - WAR BECKY - WARRRRRRRR BECKY - Carmella finding her role - The Iconics holding hands for entire segments - Sonya and Mandy keeping my ship alive - Sonya vs. Asuka action - Mandy's Flying Knee - Hearing "Melbourne" pronounced correctly on TV - WARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR BECKYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY I am motherfucking HERE for the Smackdown Women's Division.
  21. Double whammy catch up here, first with last week's Deep Dive that started with Fandango and ended with literally everyone being a lesbian and an exploration of bisexual representation in WWE. http://placetobenation.com/staceys-divas-deep-dive-lesbian-chicken/ This week I take a look at Maryse the wrestler to celebrate the return of Maryse the wrestler, and try to explain why I could watch her do literally anything on earth and also watch her do absolutely nothing whatsoever. She's mesmerising. http://placetobenation.com/staceys-divas-deep-dive-the-marysiest-maryse-of-them-all/
  22. Becky Lynch feud recaps on Raw. She is the Big Dawg of the Fed.
  23. Same. Give me Nikki vs. SARAH just directly into my veins.
