  1. Nah, just the Puerto Rican one. 🙂
  2. I'd probably make it 80s and before and 2010s plus due to base size.
  3. Look how well hardcore wrestlers did this go around, not surprised Foley got that bump since he would be the most high profile wrestler associated with that style.
  4. It penalizes wrestlers due to language barriers, which is why promos and other stuff not in ring aren't the focus. In ring charisma would count.
  5. In a similar boat as DR regarding Moxley, don't have any emotional connection with him and feels derivative of other wrestlers. The little Stinger in me is delighted by Sting's placement. 😀
  6. 39 of the top 50 were on my ballot, let's see where they drop.
  7. The greatest wrestling practionter of doing this and doing that cannot be contained.
  8. Tanahashi strikes me as the least polarizing of the recent New Japan top stars, I'd expect him to be the highest finisher of that bunch.
  9. It's the Cody effect.
  10. I'm thinking these may be influenced by: Cornette having a podcast makes Eaton (Midnights) have more modern visibilty for inclusion as a legacy cannon great. 2010s New Japan being more valued in voting means you have to include the All Father of New Japan on your list (plus the aura from gifs like the one of people lining up to get slapped by him). Dusty is the All Father of Codyism with Cody's most prominent programs in WWE invoking his all time great father. Tully resurfaced in AEW which gives him that modern visibility boost as a cannon great plus the legacy cache of being part of the quintessential Four Horsemen lineup. Windham is Uncle Howdy plus the legacy cache of being part of the quintessential Four Horsemen lineup. Bruno has aura qnd also is the Babe Ruth of early WWE. For the old timers it's about who has in some way remained relevantly visible in the modern landscape to where someone not deep diving beyond that scope would feel that these are the legacy cannon guys one should sprinkle somewhere on their list.
  11. At this point, some of the conversation is more along the lines of very good to great worker at a style I don't care for, so that's going to be a case where the disagreement over a specific wrestler will be harder to reach an understanding over.
  12. I've got 58 left. Unlike last vote, while there are still some gaps to shore up, there are other areas where it's not really a gap and more that it just doesn't appeal to me.
  13. Glad Bruno and Dandy survived. Sadly, not surprised by Rose. And we still have not reached the 40% ballot threshold.
  14. Don't think anyone ranked so far has been on at least 40% of ballots yet.
  15. It'll probably be something like Sammartino, Dandy, Windham, Rose, Benoit and Low Ki.
  16. I was rooting for Abdullah to crack the top 100, heck of a placement.
  17. 62 remain from my ballot, let's see how many survive tomorrow's final drops before the top 100.
  18. Most fascinating thing to me so far is we are almost at 120 and no one has yet been on at least 40% of ballots. We're getting mixed pockets of plurality rather than a majority so far.
  19. Certainly, I think of how different my ballot this time was compared to 2016 because of the gaps I have filled since then (with more to go). Others are on their own journeys. It's a question of how open or curious people will be outside of the mindset that now is the greatest wrestling ever with no need to contextualize. Used to be 90s All Japan that had that mindset around it but its only relevance now is the Four Pillars and those wrestlers that orbit them. I'm enjoying the highs and lows of the reveal from my point of view, which is unique to me and different from others highs and lows. The good thing is that there are some results that show there are people willing to have curiosity on checking certain wrestlers or styles out. As you say, we just need to figure out how.
  20. It's what I said before, focused on 2010s onwards with the only the visible accepted wisdom of who the legends are surviving this go around and the exceptions that come from pushes within GWE circles. One thing I think may have been more prevalent last time is the thought that the 'now' of the time was too new to properly put in perspective in such a vote. The opposite is seen now, heavier focus on the present and what should be paid attention too based on what exists in their now. It feels like the Boss Baby meme in a way.
  21. Latest drop has put me at 27 gone from my list. Lucha getting hit hard.
  22. Aw man, misread their points, thanks for pointing it out. Well, the dream is over then. 😄
  23. Homicide and Orton have the same number of points so technically tied for 187. Don't know what the tiebreaker is but if you use points per ballot Homicide ranks higher.
  24. I think the results are showing a bent towards those actively prominent from 2010s onwards plus the accepted collective wisdom greats that were still talked about on screen during that time as being great by the wrestling world that exists from 2010s on. Some exceptions mainly from wrestlers or styles that had a focused hyping up in the GWE circles, but I think the cues for which older wrestlers are surviving are coming from that 'accepted collective wisdom' narrative.
  25. It's taken around three years since it was announced but the movie about Puerto Rico wrestling looks to finally be releasing later this summer. Here's the teaser trailer for La Super Estrellas de la Lucha Lubre.
