  1. THAT POP for Mox.I am so happy he is getting to do his thing. He is awesome
  2. I am very very excited for the coffin drop match. Also, AEW needs to chill with giving a name to every Dynamite they do lol
  3. Whom does WWE consider its first black champion? Do they count Rock?
  4. I really don't get why they removed Scarlett from his act. She was basically the biggest reason he was over to whatever extent he is. It's like taking OH YOU DIDN'T KNOWWW away from the New Age Outlaws
  5. I think those fans were probably leaving because they have zero interest in Kross, not cuz of the result. I get the point about overreaction, but there's imo a difference between saying fans are overreacting and saying fans are disrespectful. The latter strongly implies that if fans are not accepting a booking decision, then the fault lies with them, not with bad booking. If it is disrespectful to walk out when someone you don't like is pushed, but it's also disrespectful to not walk out but chant snarky shit in the arena, then what is the appropriate way to express dissatisfaction with booking choices?
  6. Vince McMahon's greatest achievement as a promoter is to develop a creepy fanbase with unhealthy parasocial relationships to WWE, who happily blame themselves in case a wrestler or an angle doesn't get better. "We're so bad and shameless, we are not reacting like we should!! We are being disrespectful!!" Genuinely pathetic. No wonder WWE never improves. They don't need to. Not with fans willing and eager to take the blame for anything not working. Just a staggering tweet
  7. Brock doesn't look nearly as purple and scary here as he was a few years back in his matches when he looked like the giant squid emerging from the ocean to eat human beings, only purple. He started looking better by the time he finally dropped the title to Reigns and then when he won again
  8. The house that the Main Event drew in Toronto in 1986 might be even more impressive than WM 3 in Detroit. WM 3 was built for months and was genuinely a once-in-a-lifetime event. Hogan-Orndorff on the other hand was just a normal house show and they were hoping to sell some 15k-20k tickets, and ended up selling 55k cuz Hogan was arguably at his peak and Orndorff was the perfect opponent for him. A seriously underrated run. They destroyed box office records for every kind of house show run right there RIP to a legend. The fact that so many old wrestlers are suffering from and dying of dementia is terrifying and probably the scariest part of being a wrestling fan. I lost a close family friend to dementia after she suffered from it for 10 years. That shit is brutal to watch. It's like seeing someone die in front of you every single day. It shatters your heart
  9. The man is somehow becoming better looking and more charismatic with age. It's a pity he only agrees to do like 5 dates a year
  10. I get what you are trying to say. As someone who frequently indulges in such conversations in weekly threads, this is all I have to say on this matter. The site was named ProWrestlingOnly because when the old NMB and DVDVR posters started sharing their political beliefs, the situation became so volatile that wrestling discussion became untenable. When PWO was subsequently founded, the rule was intended to keep political discussions out of wrestling. It was never meant to end all off-topic banter, because that has never been the way forum boards operate. On this very board, I have read basketball treatises, extended soccer analogies, and exactly when and how Happy Days jumped the shark. This "it's ProWrestlingOnly, checkmate!!" is a completely fail attempt at a gotcha, cuz it ignores the history of this very board. I am sure the international posters here don't often understand all the American football analogies and posts. They don't start whining about it though. The point about nastiness is easily explained with the vile, staggeringly racist behaviour of England fans, and the simple concept of a heel getting their comeuppance, but that's another discussion. Regardless, if the community decides to ban the sports banter, then it's completely fine with me
  11. Yeah, how dare long time community members shoot shit about some harmless sports topics - while still doing wrestling analogies - in a weekly TV thread instead of previewing the most soul-crushing TV show in wrestling. Fuck off with this shit. It's 5 comments in a thread that starts before Raw and covers all of WWE's weekly TV. I'm sure you will survive some off-topic talk in the beginning.
  12. As long as I am talking about that SD period - after the much hyped SD Six 2002 year - there's an Eddy v. Cena parking lot brawl in 2003 which is tons of fun and one of the highlights of early career Cena
  13. There's also a 2003 Rey-Matt Hardy match where Rey wins the cruiserweight title which is one of my favourite matches of that year
  14. I believe he likes reading comic books and I think drawing/sketching
  15. The guy basically said on Twitter weeks back that he was going to do this shit. He is clearly insane. And I am actually kind of surprised no one has ever tried to actively harm Russo. This guy might be clearly insane, but he is far from the only wrestling fans over the years who has been clearly insane
  16. Speaking of Corny.... This is the guy that jumped the rail during the Jericho-MJF segment. Setting aside the fact that the biggest smarks are the marks who think getting dragged on their ass out of the building on live TV is Good Actually, the dude is also a hardcore Russo fan. Corny will be disappointed at that, but his grift was always going to ultimately end up with him getting lumped with Russo by the new additions to his beloved cult of Cornette
  17. Yeah Heenan apparently pitched quite hard to be brought back, but they chose to only bring him for sporadic appearances. It's why IIRC by the time he inducted Bock in the HoF, he didn't even put much effort into his speech, even though he had completely stolen the show when he was inducted in 2004
  18. Bruno was built like a powerlifter/strongman though, not a bodybuilder, even though I think he did participate in some bodybuilding contests early in his career. The powerlifter/strongman look was prevalent in wrestling until about the mid-70s. I am not sure how standards in bodybuilding evolved, but I was listening to a John Cena eYada interview with Meltzer from 2001 where he was talking about how the fed felt that big 80s guys didn't have good bodies by current standards because they were not as careful with their diet and therefore were not very cut or proportionate. Hogan exemplifies that more than anyone; he arguably actually had a better body in some of his later WCW years. He wasn't as massive and didn't look like a Krypton citizen, but he was more shredded and his muscles were more prominent
  19. FWIW, Tony Khan did talk about the explosion in more detail a few days back. He did not exactly take responsibility though; he basically said his mistake was asking non-wrestling people to do the explosion, and that he is going to do it again when the time comes, and this time he won't repeat that mistake. It was funny cuz his answer was almost from a corporate interview: "My mistake was that I was *too* cautious." It's wall street carny
  20. The main was good before all the interference crap. I am really so over the fucking Good Brothers. Excellent overall episode though. The matches by themselves were not blowaway, but the promos and segments were excellent, especially the main ones which needed to hit home. I wonder who challenges Omega for the title at Fight for the Fallen. They have to be saving Hangman for All Out, they cannot possibly have him challenge at Fight for the Fallen
  21. Dan Lambert is a fantastic promo. Should have given that idiot Colby Covington some promo lessons when the latter was at ATT
  22. Find somebody who loves you the way JR loves talking about rules and referees
  23. Malaichi Black is a terrible terrible name.
  24. Hahaha Britt got the Saudi dig in
  25. I love futbol crowds usually but these England fans have been insufferable throughout
