  1. There's also a 2003 Rey-Matt Hardy match where Rey wins the cruiserweight title which is one of my favourite matches of that year
  2. I believe he likes reading comic books and I think drawing/sketching
  3. The guy basically said on Twitter weeks back that he was going to do this shit. He is clearly insane. And I am actually kind of surprised no one has ever tried to actively harm Russo. This guy might be clearly insane, but he is far from the only wrestling fans over the years who has been clearly insane
  4. Speaking of Corny.... This is the guy that jumped the rail during the Jericho-MJF segment. Setting aside the fact that the biggest smarks are the marks who think getting dragged on their ass out of the building on live TV is Good Actually, the dude is also a hardcore Russo fan. Corny will be disappointed at that, but his grift was always going to ultimately end up with him getting lumped with Russo by the new additions to his beloved cult of Cornette
  5. Yeah Heenan apparently pitched quite hard to be brought back, but they chose to only bring him for sporadic appearances. It's why IIRC by the time he inducted Bock in the HoF, he didn't even put much effort into his speech, even though he had completely stolen the show when he was inducted in 2004
  6. Bruno was built like a powerlifter/strongman though, not a bodybuilder, even though I think he did participate in some bodybuilding contests early in his career. The powerlifter/strongman look was prevalent in wrestling until about the mid-70s. I am not sure how standards in bodybuilding evolved, but I was listening to a John Cena eYada interview with Meltzer from 2001 where he was talking about how the fed felt that big 80s guys didn't have good bodies by current standards because they were not as careful with their diet and therefore were not very cut or proportionate. Hogan exemplifies that more than anyone; he arguably actually had a better body in some of his later WCW years. He wasn't as massive and didn't look like a Krypton citizen, but he was more shredded and his muscles were more prominent
  7. FWIW, Tony Khan did talk about the explosion in more detail a few days back. He did not exactly take responsibility though; he basically said his mistake was asking non-wrestling people to do the explosion, and that he is going to do it again when the time comes, and this time he won't repeat that mistake. It was funny cuz his answer was almost from a corporate interview: "My mistake was that I was *too* cautious." It's wall street carny
  8. The main was good before all the interference crap. I am really so over the fucking Good Brothers. Excellent overall episode though. The matches by themselves were not blowaway, but the promos and segments were excellent, especially the main ones which needed to hit home. I wonder who challenges Omega for the title at Fight for the Fallen. They have to be saving Hangman for All Out, they cannot possibly have him challenge at Fight for the Fallen
  9. Dan Lambert is a fantastic promo. Should have given that idiot Colby Covington some promo lessons when the latter was at ATT
  10. Find somebody who loves you the way JR loves talking about rules and referees
  11. Malaichi Black is a terrible terrible name.
  12. Hahaha Britt got the Saudi dig in
  13. I love futbol crowds usually but these England fans have been insufferable throughout
  14. HAHAHAHAHA That said, the I'll even have sex with your mom... again line did make me laugh
  15. In contrast, both Mox and Cody seem to have already started on their dad bods
  16. Hangman is over like a God. I don't care about whatever long-term chase they might be thinking ala Omega himself in NJPW; American wrestling with its weekly primetime television works differently. It's time to put the belt on him at All Out
  17. This strap match was plodding and boring, and the fiery finish felt unearned to me
  18. LMAO QT got the jobber in the ring treatment
  19. Rick Knox has a long running BTE gag about it, but if anything that makes it worse for me, because it means they get that this is noticeable, but instead of explaining it on their TV, they do so on their cute little YouTube show
  20. Whataboutery isn't a relevant argument imo. Dave's comments about women had no bearing here, because he was not discussing her looks at all. She brought it up deliberately to try and deflect the attention away from the fact that she was complaining about the "dirtsheets" for absolutely no reason other than to suck up to management. If she had a legit grievance, she could have easily mentioned the specifics, like Miro did when he was doing his post-WWE interview tour. It is not Zelina's burden to spearhead the unionization effort. No individual even has a hope, unless the individual has fuck you money like John Cena. I also don't mind the fact that she deleted her old tweet. Like, what is she supposed to do here? Of course no unionization is happening anytime soon. Her tweet would just be used by fans and toxic Twitter users to dunk on her and troll her every time she'd say anything on Twitter. All the "This You??" tweets would get really tiresome for her, and also would not help any unionization effort. If anything, it would probably get wrestlers to decide against speaking out about unionization. However, it would have been easy for her to stick up for herself without trying to find a new target to deflect all the heat towards. Her dirtsheet comments was clearly for a very specific crowd. Which is great if that helps her career, but that means she has no moral high ground either. Using other women to get around the fact that her dirtsheet rant was nonsensical and that she rightly got criticised for it is pretty weak. There's a reason her deflection didn't work this time, and no one apart from the hardcore anti-Dave trolls went after Dave this time. She was objectively incorrect about the evil dirtsheets reporting false things. There wasn't much to get mad about
  21. Thanks much, this is incredible! The guest list in 2000 is filled with heavyweight wrestling personalities too. He even got an interview with Jim Herd
  22. Meltzer responded and his response was more than fair. Zelina is obviously doing what she can now to get support with management and fans, and one of the best ways to get in the good books of WWE and a creepy subsection of its fans is to shit on da dirtsheets in general and Dave in particular. I thought the eYada discussion would be a more fun one. Meltzer's story about Cena telling him he would never forget what Dave has done for him, and then not speaking to him for 10 years lol
  23. The recent radio show Dave did reminiscing about his eYada shows was excellent. Also got @Loss and others reminiscing on Twitter about all the times someone would prank call Dave, which was fun. I didn't know Cena used to come on Dave's show all the time. It does make sense why Dave was always defending Cena even at the peak of Cena hatred. It would be nice to listen to whatever shows have survived the internet. I believe I have seen a YouTube video where a teenage Bix called to ask Eric Bischoff a question which got Bischoff mad, but I don't recall if it was on eYada or normal Observer radio
  24. Snarky Meltz makes a brief comeback
  25. I mentioned it as an aside at the end of a long paragraph. It is consistent with the pattern of Jericho generally dragging this angle down. I hope he loses clean to MJF with no interference
