  1. Can someone who listens to Cornette's podcast summarise what Sullivan said about the Benoit episode and his version of events here? I have heard he held nothing back but I am really in no mood to listen to Corny and Last.
  2. This will blow up in WWE's face and it will not be the least bit surprising. I legit feel like an ass sometimes cuz I criticise WWE so much here but man do they walk willingly into PR disasters just waiting to happen.
  3. I think you were right about Shawn's limitations. I don't think pro wrestling as a genre lends itself to Shawn's idea of apex storytelling. But he was so charismatic and so good later at just being WWE Legend Shawn Michaels, he could get away with it personally.
  4. Bret clearly > Shawn although I think both are overrated. I think the last few years have also shown that Jericho has a good argument to be better than Shawn. Jericho's worst stuff is worse than Shawn's, but the way he has "got" wrestling since 2018 is a huge point in his favour. Shawn was excellent at doing Shawn things to get matches and angles over, but while he could get away with all the drama, that style has made for some of the worst wrestling experiences in the modern era for me.
  5. Fuck Shawn Michaels forever for saying "I'm sorry, I love you" to Flair. I didn't even mind that spot cuz it fit the context but it kickstarted the trend to make wrestling dramatic soap operas starring Performers.
  6. In hindsight, 1998 was so weak on main event heels. If he had won a shoot contest and then gone on to been managed by Vince against Austin, it would probably have done a good one-off buy. But I don't think he would have been a good long-term opponent and the fact that they would spend so much money on someone and then not even protect him in the ring is legitimately head-scratching.

    AEW TV 4/8/2020

Jericho made the Omega tag match watchable for me. There's a place for comedy in wrestling, but bad comedy is what makes WWE so bad in the first place. The match was good whenever they were actually wrestling. I think all the matches and promos on the show today were really good. Esp the Mox-Hager promos. I think if there had been a crowd, Britt might have become a big babyface. As it is, I loved the match and thought both women looked like stars. The way they are building up Cody's quest, it seems he has to win the TV title. I reiterate - Jericho is the best. He made a good show great for me.
  8. This should never have been Roman's call in the first place. I don't think he will get buried, but they might once again hold back on pulling the trigger on him, and by now this has happened way too many times for him to mean anything close to what he could have.
  9. It's funny how Triple H has arguably had the two best wrestlemania matches of the last decade - Bryan and the Ronda tag. As per Meltzer, he was also heavily involved in the layout of the Taker-Styles match. With all the backlash Shawn Michaels's agent work is receiving on wrestling Twitter, Triple H's rep has improved quite a bit. Of course, he also helpfully maintained some balance by having some of the worst matches in the last decade as well. That Lesnar match is terrible.
  10. I liked his match with Bryan
  11. I was honestly thinking of the season six finale of Supernatural when I was watching this. When Sam Winchester had to like conquer different versions of himself while Lucifer lurked in the background. I hope someone gets this reference.
  12. Love Cena, but I thought this sucked. At the very least, I felt it was too long.
  13. I am clearly in the minority on this cuz I think this sucks. It's Cena so it's tolerable to watch because Cena is so charismatic but this just sucks
  14. Man, Wyatt and his creative ideas absolutely suck
  15. My bad, guys regarding Brock lol I love how Cena has STILL not taken off his cap
  16. Brock-Drew main eventing means Drew has to win, right?
  17. I am intrigued by face Sasha chasing heel Bayley
  18. Cena added to his GOAT case just by existing in the last 45 minutes. (I hope I don't jinx his match)
  19. This is exactly how I am feeling right now. There have been other matches with worse action, but every single thing about this match was putrid. Absolutely irredeemable.
  20. Why the fuck is this ref screaming the count when there is no fucking crowd to play to. I hate this.
  21. Orton and the ref talking is the worst moment of wrestling in 2020
  22. Don't be a bad peep bubba
  23. Not to regurgitate smark talking points from 10 years ago, but why would WWF look at E&C in 2000 and decide that Edge is the one to be pushed for any reason other than the fact that he is taller.
  24. Edge reminding us how terrible his facial expressions always have been. Except his first night back on Raw.
  25. This night is basically the inverse of night one
