Many congratulations! Oh yeah and Dynamite will be good. Wish it would have more Starks on it.

I would be interested in reading your posts regarding these items

That Swerve segment was very stupid
-
Renee is awesome. Best in the world at what she does, really the best in that role since Gene Okerlund. I think the MJF thing is a swerve. I think he teases going face, but then doubles down on his heel shtick. Not to draw the Rock comparisons into the ground, but that would be very appropriate, like Rock in 1998 during the brief time he was teased to be turning face, only to become the corporate champion. MJF's face run is inevitable, but he has a lot of juice left in his heel run yet. Once he turns face, it will be very difficult for him to turn back again I feel.

If all reports are true, then I don't see how Punk's position is tenable at all tbh. Double standards for your biggest star is one thing, completely losing the respect of your peers is another. As a fan, I am gutted. Punk's stuff on TV was almost always the best thing ongoing on wrestling TV, his angles were almost always the hottest, he was the most compelling character in all of wrestling for the one year he was back. If only he had not got in his own way.

Willow is THE One, yeah agreed
-
Really happy and relieved that Page is doing okay. Also, Punk's biggest legacy might just be elevating MJF as a performer; the latter got visibly better every week he feuded with Punk. He is finally beginning to find his identity as a worker.
-
Yeah, I think we all need to realize, regardless of our personal feelings about their work, that Jericho, Danielson and Moxley are literally the main reasons why the ship did not sink after Punk and the Elite got suspended. They are fundamental to AEW's existence, they are why AEW thrives. Tony Khan would be the biggest idiot in the world if he does not get back all three of them. They have been there when AEW strongly needed a strong ancher, a solid rower to trammel past the troubled waters. Much as we might hate to admit it (each of us in respect of different people amongst those three), they really are the heart and soul of AEW.

Love Mox, love Hangman, I am hyped as fuck for their match. Also, some backstage news -
-
I thought Hangman's promo was excellent. He has quietly stepped up his game after All Out. I think I would preferMJF as a face tbh. Fans clearly want to cheer for him, and being a face would mean not aiming for cheap heat as much as he does. After all, Piper was a face for far longer in his career than he was a heel. He is winning the title at Full Gear, let's see how he does once he gets the ball

This was not the week to put Sammy and Jericho over. It left a bad taste in the mouth, especially because, given how loudly fans were booing Sammy, fans knew what had happened backstage. Jericho has also been accumulating a shit-load of "heat" since he turned back heel, and so far has not put over anyone who would actually get elevated by it - tapping out to Mox and Danielson doesn't do much, they are already above him in the pecking order.

We all know that wrestlers have very little leverage when it comes to negotiating contracts. It's true for MMA as well. One reason Dana White always resented GSP was because GSP used a professional agency to negotiate with the UFC on his behalf, and it meant they couldn't just walk all over him. But not everyone can afford that.

Meltz says Andrade is clearly looking to get fired, he and a couple of former NXT guys want to go back to WWE. I think if someone really wants to leave your organisation, they should be allowed to do so. It's unethical to keep people employed against their will. We shit on WWE for this all the time, AEW should not be doing this either

That was the greatest bit of sports entertainment I have seen in several years. Rock and Mick Foley, eat your heart out
-
Hahaha this is great, Bowens is fantastic
-
That was an excellent match, and the crowd was hot throughout. Jamie Hayter and Willow Nightingale are THE women
-
That was tremendous fun. A hoss spotfest in the best possible way
-
It's a very corny indyriffic gimmick. Like, we can google "Prince of Ghana"
-
Probably not the best idea to do a chain rollup spot two matches in a row. Arn is still around, right? Can't TK ask him to agent and weed out shit like this
-
Crowd is so hot when Darby is on offence but quiet when Lethal is. Almost as if one is a potential main eventer while the other is a perennial midcarder
-
Was that announced? I missed that. Sammy got roundly booed, far more than Jericho or 2.0 - 2.0 Cocaine is going to get massively cheered the day he turns anyway. it's a different world today, but if Sammy manages to get his head straight, he can be a true proper heel with nuclear heat. The 1996-98 Shawn Michaels comparison isn't too far off.
-
They just advertised the main event and it was still the same? I'm confused

Really hard to argue that the Yuta push hasn't worked and should be stopped when fans are popping loudly and chanting his name
-
Yuta is perfect where he is, cuz someone needs to lose to MJF to build up his title shot, and the champ's stablemate is the perfect fit. I'd put Hobbs against either Hangman or Wardlow, since he can afford to lose a competitive match against one of the top stars, but Cage works as a one-off challenger too. The women's match is perfectly fine and features their most organically over star. Same with the Acclaimed segment; it would be crazy to not milk their hot run for every drop of it's worth. I'd have Darby v. Miro, and I don't think a loss would hurt either of them, especially since Miro beat Darby for the title. Luchasaurus is also fine, since it leads to a feud with Jungle Boy, and I think JB has been great, has improved a hell of a lot on promos, and should start getting big wins. But a Ricky Starks segment or a live promo could have replaced it, or maybe both: let Ricky continue to cut great promos while squashing jobbers, since he excels at cutting promos. Maybe Starks v. Nese where Starks gets a quick win. (Hire me, Coach Tony K, we are South Asian bros after all)
