Well, Seth's Twitter account is apparently gone now, so there may be something to this...

AEW must've really pissed Punk off with their amateurish name-dropping. Unless he's using this to leverage a better deal out of Tony Khan? If Punk is really returning to WWE, my guess is he's justifying it by saying "I work for FOX Sports - not WWE, Vince, Hunter, Steph, or Dunn." Still seems like a weird move though. Maybe he needs the money?

So great that I've already forgotten it. I mean, I'm sure it was a "fine" match, but PWO has this tendency to severely overrate "fine" matches and "fine" wrestlers. Look, I love Sasha - and I certainly like her more than Seth - but I do miss the Sasha of NXT who was the best female wrestler in North America (or at least the WWE corner of North America). With that said, Seth really is the last person who should be delivering that message. (I realize this is all in-character to promote the Becky-Sasha feud, but that doesn't make it any less fun to debate about the merits of each respective person.) P.S. Mauro continues to be the best in the world at what he does, and nothing will ever change my mind. IMO, he should've been the one promoted to RAW, not Dio Maddin or whoever it was. But I assume the only reason that didn't happen is because Mauro is happier in NXT calling that type of product. I still don't understand the announcer shuffle. Shutting out two of the better guys they have - Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton - makes no sense to me. Remember when Kyle Edwards was fired, and his wife called out Tom Phillips on Twitter for "politicking"? Well, how's that working out for Tom these days?
-
When was Sasha's last truly great match though? Not counting the hiatus, it's been a while. She definitely has it in her to be the best of the best - and certainly better than Seth FREAKIN' BURN IT DOWN Rollins - but it feels like it's been at least a year or more since we've gotten that Sasha.
-
I don't know, but if he is, 2K Sports needs to license his likeness and create Maddin '21 next year.
-
Just realized Tom Phillips is missing too. WTH?
-
Wow, didn't even realize Saxton was out of the equation entirely. What the hell is he going to do now? Pre-show talking head bullshit? I would also like to know who the hell Dio Maddin is.

Hennigan is a surprise. Lawler might be a bigger one. Is Vince afraid The King will jump to AEW and reunite with J.R. or something?

Awesome match. "Dark match," my ass...

Actually, right before ECW, Shane Douglas was a WCW World Tag Team Champion with Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat when that still meant something. It was a very good team, and he played it straight as a fiery white meat babyface. No comedy at all. You could've definitely seem him as a credible U.S. or TV Champion during that brief window. So, Paul Heyman's push of Shane Douglas didn't come out of thin air. Douglas had already built some level of credibility beforehand. The idea that Shane went straight from being a "Dynamic Dude" into "The Franchise" is not at all accurate. ("Dean Douglas" was between his two ECW stints, BTW. Throwing down the NWA belt in ECW happened before Dean.)

I assume you're mocking one of my previous posts, but you'll be singing this tune for real NEXT WEEK ON THE SEASON PREMIERE OF RAW when THE KING SLAYER, THE BEAST SLAYER, THE RATINGS SLAYER, THE ARCHITECT, SETH "FREAKIN'" ROLLINS successfully defends the title against Rey Mysterio and BURNS...IT...DOWN... !!!

That kick looked nasty

Between Ric's appearance last week on SD and now this, are we to assume his lawsuit about "The Man" name has been dropped? Wooooo!
-
Agreed, but still not too late.

OC is the worst, most awful, biggest geek act I've seen in years. Like their opponents The Viking Experience Raiders, it started with a truly terrible name and went downhill from there.

He can't be done as something he never was.

It's either now or never with Braun IMO.

Becoming "The Cleaner" again is great. Building a feud against Dominick with no possible payoff is pointless. You can say the same for Shane re: Flair/HBK, but at least that positioned ECW as the edgy, irreverent underdog. The difference was, Shane was punching up by going after Flair/HBK and thus making himself and ECW look like the scrappy little guy. Omega is punching down by going after Dominick and only makes himself and AEW look like bullies. My God, it's the easiest thing in the world to make WWE and NXT look like the "big bad" - they already are in so many real ways - but goofy as fuck Mr. Clean can't even accomplish that much. It's not fun or witty or cool or entertaining. It could be, but it's not, because the approach is entirely off. It's just dumb business. Edit: Also, it's not 1996 anymore. Even if Shane was 100% successful in his approach, it wouldn't work today because times have changed.

Too bad about AEW: Evil Dentist vs. Smiley Kylie wrote itself. But I'm glad she's back.
-
Except, how does this draw money for AEW or build any AEW talent or feuds? Answer: IT DOESN'T! There's a HUGE difference between Omega saying this on Twitter or YouTube and Shane Douglas saying it as his character on a television show designed to make him and ECW look like an edgy alternative. ECW did this right. Omega's bullshit looks like amateur hour. It's terrible.
-
Omega continues to humiliate himself and make AEW look horrible: Unless they're building to an NXT vs. AEW supercard none of us know about (they're not), this is absolutely pointless and doesn't draw a red cent for AEW. All it does it turn off NXT fans who may have been interested in checking out the AEW product. Transcript Credit: https://www.prowrestlingsheet.com/kenny-omega-dominik-dijakovic-being-elite/ Video:

Luckiest fan ever, and future comedy hall of famer for sure. There are also tons of great comments comparing J.R. and Mauro, as well as fans correctly identifying that Mauro makes Takeover feel even more special. As for Cobin, I think people forget how "young" he is in the business. He hasn't quite put the package together yet, but he's inching closer every year. Mauro calling his matches would make the difference, I feel. (Okay, lol, I'm sorry...I couldn't resist!)

Well, that doesn't really mean anything IMO. Women stay in abusive relationships for years - decades even. I'm not saying that Rich Swann is abusive. But I'm also not saying that he isn't.
