    Kurt Angle

I'm paraphrasing, but someone mentioned that KENTA only has one speed, but it's a good speed. Feel the same with Angle. He's not a darling around here, but I enjoy his matches, flaws and all. I also think TNA seems to be a blind spot with a lot of posters, and would recommend his matches v McGuinness, Kennedy, Hardy, Storm, Aries and Roode. Just to get you started
  2. I don't hate Brody. Liked a lot of his tags with Hansen and his matches with Terry and Dory, Blackwell, Abby, Flair. He's by no means a top 100 lock, but I don't spit every time I utter his name either

    Triple H

Wow! Now we're talkin'! I don't want to rehash all the politics etc from early on. In his favour - 08 feuds with Hardy and Orton, matches with legacy in 09, Undertaker at the 2 Manias (hey, I liked them), 2 good Lesnar matches, Bryan at Mania and the 2 Shield matches after that.
  4. That - the metric shit ton of fresh footage since 2006 - sounds like a lovely podcast idea for you Dylan.
  5. That's the funny thing about Jake - he's incredibly watchable but never quite puts together fantastic matches. It's like the Arn discussion going on, except he's another rung down that ladder.

    Undertaker

His 1997, 2002 and 2003 are really solid full years. I think the Mania streak 2007-14 could be a big bone of contention on how he's rated.
  7. I'm going through a Raws and PPVs from 93 and 94 at the moment. Plenty of nice solid work with Bret, Jannetty, Razor, Tatanka and the HeadShrinkers. I agree that he's been torn down for so long here that he's underrated. I think that's happened with a few guys.

Ah, the anti-TNA bias are back! The conversation about their better stuff starts up around here.... http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/4730-is-tna-the-worst-wrestling-promotion-in-history/page-35

His TNA stuff has stacks of gems.
  11. Oh, I'm up for that. Just letting you know the lay of the land going in.....
  12. Fair enough.
  13. At the minute, I could see Angle and HHH making my 100. I'm wondering how much abuse I'll get for that if I haven't had that PWO-ised out of my system in 2 years.....
  14. Really? I didn't find it that objectionable. Although that could be just letting WWE's slant wash over me. What annoyed you most?
  15. Thanks. I'll turn the volume down.
  16. What date was the Arn v Big Josh match on WCW Saturday Night in 1992?
  17. Yeah, I thought Chris sounded good on this. Trying to explain something to Russo.....ugh, no thanks.
  18. Are we going to nominate anyone who ever had a half decent match? Considering the scope and intent of the project, I think it's necessary for the project's credibility that any and all notable names are given their due process of consideration (even if it's a tough sell for them to make anyone's final list). Yeah, depending on how many people vote, it will be interesting to see how many names come up. Hopefully it would be 100 wrestlers all jumbled into various positions.....
  19. Yeah, I think this was your best so far. Really interesting discussion.
  20. This one was really good. Liked his explanation of half truths and vague comments, suggestions, appraisals made to underneath talent by management - what a mindf*ck!
  21. Just when you mention that, what are regarded as the best SMW matches? I've never seen a list put out, would like to give it a look through sometime....
  22. Your name was mentioned too, Bill.......
  23. Reading the stuff that come out - in less than a week on this - has been really good. The sophistication of argument here is sky high. It has me thinking that podcasts commentating on specific matches would really help illustrate the points being argued. And would be a great incentive for me to rewatch a lot of Japanese/Mexican product with someone knowledgable holding my hand to get me through it. Just so far, I'm thinking Loss, Dawho, Bill Thompson, Matt D and loads of others would be really good at this. Please...... ;-)
  24. That's ok - it's a great read!
  25. as opposed to non-cantankerous moments with Bill Watts. So, if Watts just steamrolls over the usual JR schtick, the interview will be better, right? I'd have no problem with that at all......
