  1. My dad's 68 Johnny. He doesn't think he's old either.
  2. Not to start an argument, but has anyone watched the 1992 Rumble lately? I saw it last year - lots of good stuff but it drags badly at times in the second half. As far as favourite ppvs, I really liked No mercy 2008 on a recent rewatch.

    Ric Flair

I'm not Matt, but I understand why you're asking. A lot of threads here list the peak years/feuds/matches of the specific wrestlers career. I'm using that as a jumping off point and nothing else. On a different note (and I don't think this contradicts the above), what's the general feeling on Flair's 70s stuff? Really haven't gotten into it a great deal, nor heard much discussion of it so far.
  4. That's good of you..... It's a positive for me in a lot of cases.
  5. Apparently a fan jumped the rail last night, but his intention seems to have been to high-five Cena rather than inflict bodily harm. More seriously, Loss, don't you think those moments highlighted from the past few years touch that kind of heat? Now granted, that's several instances over 2-3 years and you listed 4 from 97 alone, but I think today's fans can still get nicely riled up when their buttons are pushed correctly.
  6. The word polished comes to mind. So do the words top 3 on my ballot.
  7. The Shield vs The Wyatts? Daniel Bryan's face turn in the cage and Mania triumph? Money in the Bank '11 and Lesnar v Punk at SummerSlam last year.

    Sami Zayn

'I saw him live for the first time in 2007 in a small little GAA hall in Ireland' What?! Where?!! Don't get that much in Armagh and Down clubs....
  9. The 'self-conscious epics' of his second run will be a point of division here. Personally, I've no problem with them - they're great big spectacular matches. I'd say he's a top 20 for me presently. Loved almost all of his work from 2007-10, and there's plenty to savour in 2002-06.
  10. Read a few Suckerpunch. It wasn't kayfabed, Rob should be proud of his writing there too.
  11. Doesn't the Flair match go an hour?
  12. The same. Really enjoyed this, and a lovely little peak behind the curtain from 20 years ago. Loved getting Rob's updated tape trader sheets and planning my next 4 or 5 tapes based on his star ratings.
  13. Have to admit, I took a deep breath before championing Kurt Angle.....
  14. You were expecting something as classy as a PBS Doc from WWE? Come on......
  15. Isn't that '85? And yeah, great match. Like Martel a great deal in the AWA set. His stock went way up with me.
  16. Can you recommend so stuff? He hasn't made a big impression on me over the years but I'm open minded.
  17. Dylan, has anyone had their argument enhanced strongly by an ECW run? I haven't seen it used as a positive so far here.
  18. "Bigelow was the second-best big man after Vader" doesn't hold up to scrutiny. PWO is allllll about scrutiny.' Damn right it is. My head will explode before this project is finished.....
  19. How's that, El-P?
  20. Now their careers are junk?! You just don't know when to stop, do you Chad?

    Sting

The fun police! Got a good chuckle outta that. Sting had some good matches in TNA with Angle, Aries and Roode. It exists. Damnit, when will you people realise it exists!
  22. That would be great, Loss. Don't want to derail this, but is it just me or do NJ heavies in the 90s not get enough love lately?
  23. Snap, Matt!
  24. I think his babyface work in 1993 WWF is a nice counterpoint to the criticisms of 1988-91. He seems a more serious performer, and does less bumping, I assume because of the back injury. Liked his matches with Bret, Michaels, Doink and Martel from that run.
  25. Nicely argued. I never had a problem with AJPW Ted, thought he was fine there.
