  1. I'm certain that's what they did. In fact, I was one of the people who was watching the game and tuned in to the PPV after I found out it was still going on. I saw somewhere on Twitter that they told cable companies they'd be running long tonight. Who knows if that's true but it seems logical.
  2. What a day for Ohio, first the Cavs win and now Ambrose cashes in! Except that Dean is from Cincinnati and we don't care about the NBA.
  3. What?! His gear's awesome. It's Roman's that looks ugly and bland. IDK, something about that grey and black isn't doing it for me. Roman's is okay, a nod to his Shield days while still evolving.
  4. I said it last month, I'll say it again: Roman's Black Tiger bomb is amazing. Dump that spear, buddy. And good god Seth is totally, hilariously a babyface here. Except for that ugly-ass ring gear he's wearing.
  5. Goddamn, not only does Rusev essentially squash Titus in front of his kids on Father's Day, they have him taunt said kids on the house mic after the match. Never piss Vince off, guys.
  6. Shout out to JBL for being particularly awful tonight. Just yelling on and on at the end of AJ/Cena about Gallows/Anderson ruining the dream match, now shouting about how much of a shame it is that Ambrose won. Ladder match was fine but I feel like I've seen way too many of these multi-man ladder matches for a new one to make much of an impact. Crowd seemed to be really into it though, so what do I know.
  7. Eh, I didn't mind - it's the start of a feud that presumably is going to carry Smackdown for the rest of the summer. Heck of a match though - AJ has been in probably the top four or five WWE matches this year?
  8. I don't think the business model needs change - they're making plenty of money. But with 5 hours of live TV a week and three touring brands out every weekend, they do need bodies. I don't think MVP or Kennedy or Stevie Richards are going to make one iota of difference at the box office or ratings, but I doubt they're coming in to headline, just fill out the lower card.
  9. IIRC, Rey is under contract to Lucha Underground, so he's out. And I would think Drew Galloway is under contract to TNA?
  10. Dave with this cryptic tweet about the brand split: He rarely breaks news (or whatever this is) via Twitter so this is a surprise. Who is floating around out there that would be available and who they'd use? RVD? MVP? Someone else solely defined by his initials?
  11. Great show as usual fellas. Appreciated the Night Court shout out - was one of my favorite shows as a kid. Fun fact you probably already knew - Night Court and Barney Miller having similar theme songs by the same composer isn't a coincidence, Night Court's creator was Reinhold Weege, who was a writer/producer on Barney Miller. Night Court was way wackier, but they're pretty setting, with a diverse group of people working together in a grungy New York justice system.
  12. God knows what they have mouldering away in their vault, and this is their focus. It's probably too much to hope that HHH got some tips on how present classic content in his meeting with Bruce this week.
  13. Evolve 62 is going right now. Matt Riddle and Cedric Alexander had a heck of a match. Everyone has said it but it's true, Riddle is just amazing. I'm not much of a ROH guy so I'm unfamiliar with Cedric but he looked great too.
  14. Those guys worked their asses off but something just didn't connect for me. Oh well, great show - two hours is perfect.
  15. No, that's completely fair, just taking a gratuitous shot. Like I said, they probably were chanting at those two dudes, one of whom looks remarkably like D-Lo Brown.
  16. The crowd was good during the match but the "who are you" chants at Ellering were very Full Sail. Though you could give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was for the two large guys, who DM says are Selwani and Dhinsa.
  17. Oh man, Jordan's hot tag was great. And a capture suplex! Don't see that move nearly as much as I would like.
  18. They called Andrade's finisher a "double knee" but it looked more like running crotch to the face. Needs some work IMO. They both looked great though, loved Andrade's pose on ropes.
  19. Now up to the Portland section. Uncle Milt's pizza looks to be a huge place, with a pipe organ and movie screen. Here's some pics: http://www.pstos.org/instruments/wa/vancouver/milts.htm.
  20. I'm about 45 minutes in and the Sid-Visine-piss test discussion is fascinating, and it only adds to the legend of Sid Eudy. A quick google confirms that this is (or at least was) a real thing, as the there's a bunch of discussion on weed forums. Here's a good one that quotes a scholarly article: http://www.marijuana.com/community/threads/visine-how-and-why-it-works.248974/. Note that the thread is 7 years old so do some more research before giving it a shot.
  21. This is certainly good for Brock and UFC, but I'm not sure how it is 100% good for WWE, especially if Brock loses. Even if he wins, that's more incentive for Brock to hold out for more money from WWE since he'll have more UFC fights on the horizon. Plus, we don't know if they're getting a Rousey appearance in return, that's just speculation at this point. It's pretty much all downside for WWE.
  22. http://www.wwe.com/article/brock-lesnar-compete-ufc-200-prior-return-major-wwe-event?sf27995709=1 With WWE's blessing, apparently. 2016 is the weirdest goddamn year ever.
  23. "AWA Super Sunday" from 4/23/1983 was just put up according to the invaluable WWE Network Updates bot.
  24. I'm sure all of Vince's interviews contain insane amounts of exaggeration and outright lies, what is special about the Playboy interview?
  25. Yeah, he's not very interesting. I imagine Simmons will eventually change his mind on him. He was with Grantland from almost the start, and he has an "Art Director, The Ringer" byline, so I'm sure we'll continue to hear from him on a semi-regular basis.
