  1. Ric's nemesis is pretty obviously Ricky Steamboat, the Bird to his Magic. Archenemy is a bit tougher, because there's Hogan and Dusty who fit the mold. I want to go with Hogan because of what they represent culturally, but Dusty and Ric's rivalry behind the scenes feels important too.
  2. We get a genuine MOTYC in Ibushi-Cedric Alexander. The hot crowd really helped, but that was really dramatic, and the nearfalls towards the end felt earned, not gratuitous. And a really sweet moment post match with Ced weeping while the crowd chanting "Please sign Cedric". HHH coming out to give Ced a hug and raise his hand could have been eye-rolling, but it was a nice moment. Great, great hour of TV by WWE here.
  3. So Metalik-Tajiri was awesome. A lot more mat-based than you'd think, aside from one nutty rope walk-flip plancha from Metalik. Hope the rumors of Tajiri coming back full-time are true, because he can still go.
  4. Can't remember ever hearing this. Do you have a source? (Not calling you out or anything, just curious.)
  5. "Sacred cows in wrestling" is a thread I'd like to see.
  6. Jericho, of all people, had the funniest response to this crap: https://twitter.com/IAmJericho/status/762348547148840960. A rare glimpse of the old Jericho.

    Ryback & WWE part ways

He did damn near save Kalisto's life on a blown dive, which probably counts for something.
  8. Has Russo ever talked about how, and more importantly why, he came up with this? Because I have a probably unoriginal theory: Jim Ross is, of course, a huge fan/friend of Steve Williams, and I'm sure while arguing his case in the booking meetings mentioned his college wrestling background and how legitimately tough he is/was. So Russo came up with Brawl For (It) All as a way to get Doc over, with the side benefit of getting political points on Jim Ross if Doc doesn't win. And since Vince McMahon loves few things for than humiliating Jim Ross, Vince readily agreed.
  9. Really intense, stiff as hell match between Gargano & Ciampa. Sick of the apron spots, but they're in vogue right now. Loved the finish especially.
  10. Fun show so far, better than last week though below the first two weeks' shows. Rich Swann did a standing 450, which I had never seen before. Is that one of his regular moves? Noam Dar had a stinker with the other Bollywood kid - it was a long, long taping so crowd may have been burnt out but it wasn't much of a match. First time seeing Jack Gallagher, and he lived up to the hype and got way over with the crowd and especially Bryan. His opponent was game too, looks like a smaller Cesaro. Gargano-Ciampa next.
  11. Correction -- all gone. Really odd. Clicked on 1981 & 82 and saw a ton of files, went back and now its all empty. I'm still seeing everything. Maybe it's frequency capped?
  12. Listening right now. Well done, fellas - BTS is the best wrestling podcast going and a highlight of my week. Thanks guys, keep up the good work.
  13. Kind of a lifeless show, especially compared with last night. Still feels like a B-show.
  14. He's sounding like Cornette.

Killing the crowd before a Roman Reigns main event...if Dylan posted here anymore I'm sure he'd have an opinion. As for me I'll leave it alone.

I keep going back and forth on this. On one hand it sure looked like a botch, and he didn't sell like a "fake" wrestling injury - he kept throwing rights and trying to shake it off, like he pinched a nerve or something. But on the other Owens went right to work on that arm and Cole kept mentioning his previous shoulder injuries.

I've been rather underwhelmed by Zayn/Owens this year but that was a hell of a match. The brawling section up to the botch was intense, they didn't just start throwing bombs. And the finishing stretch wasn't just finisher spam - I loved Sami's simple rope break on the power bomb, and he didn't even try a pin on the first helluva kick.

That spear off the apron is impressive as hell but something like this was bound to happen. Hope he's okay.

Fast-paced, fun match between Usos & Breeze/Fandango - crowd really got into it. Good start, let's keep it up.
  20. That was a great show. Dorado did a nutty reverse rana that landed poor Ali right on his head, and then Ali did this springboard spanish fly.
  21. TJ Perkins v Da Mack was a lot of fun, TJP with his smooth lucha-y stuff and Mack kinda goofy and fun. Mack is a strange looking dude - his legs are super long compared to the rest of him and it was kinda freaking me out. OTOH, hearing Mauro and Bryan say "Da Mack" was pretty funny.
  22. Tajiri is old as hell but those kicks still look great. The guy he wrestled (Slater?) seemed pretty generic.
  23. I guess I shouldn't have expected anything different, but there's no long-term plan here, right? They just threw this together this morning?
  24. May God have mercy on our souls
  25. This is an amazing project, and I'm glad they're doing it - getting this stuff out to whoever wants it, and for free! But how long until it gets shut down? A lot of this same stuff gets taken down from YouTube regularly, and that is owned by Google too.
