Rollins will cash in tonight. This sets up Orton on Raw saying that he pinned the champ last night.

Perro Aguayo Jr. (July 23, 1979-March 21, 2015)

And it could have started from a previous injury in another match. There was a boxer back in the day that Max Baer brutally KO'd and during his next fight just a few months later a simple jab killed him. His brain was already nearly detached and one little ding was all it took. But like I said above none of that really matters. I just hope people don't start pointing fingers at Mysterio because I'm sure no one feels worse than him over what happened. -

First of all RIP Aguayo. It's hard to watch anyone get killed or die so I don't think I'll be watching this over and over and over. But I did watch a couple of times trying to figure out what happened. Just to me it looked like that initial dropkick rung his bell or did something to him. He was staggered getting up. Then on the roll he didn't get up quite right before the huricanrana to the floor and he immediately jumps back into the ring on his knees and gets dropkicked again to the ropes. That may have been the final blow but something was wrong before that. The ropes did not cause this from what I could see. Things like this can be tricky. He could have had something going on before the match and just a couple of blows the wrong way was all it took. Regardless, it's a tragedy and I feel for his family and the other workers in the match. That's something that you will take with you regardless of who was at fault for the rest of your life. -
Sadist in Sequins, Merchant of Menace. I loved his gimmick and character. I was a kid in the mid 80s (5 in 1985) but for some reason I always gravitated towards Street. He was different and I enjoyed different. Why he didn't have more of a run in the later 80s in the NWA boggles my mind. He would have been perfect in the lower midcard, even as a TV Title contender. I really enjoy his books. I've read I think 3 of them so far. He goes into so much detail that it's amazing that he could remember all of these things. I can't point to any Street match that would bring someone into the Street corner that wasn't already there but I think he is a polarizing figure in wrestling. Everything in me was programmed to hate the guy growing up but I really loved all of his stuff. I was probably the only 7 year old at the Knoxville Civic Center heckling Wendall Cooley calling him Gwendolyn.

I really dig both of those. Some people amaze me with their Photoshop skills. I paint cars for iRacing for fun and I'm "decent" but then you have guys that are artists. WH would be considered an artist.

BRAINBUSTER! The Pro Wrestling Quiz Show

I enjoyed the show. Hope you all do several more. -
If they wanted to send the Philly crowd home happy the title match would have went on last. Brock is their biggest face.
-
They have to know they just don't give a damn.
-
That's the look of a man who realizes that he's fucked.
-
They are so out of touch with reality it's really completely mind boggling.
-
Trips is looking worried. Not in character but because the crowd doesn't give a shit.
-
Jesus Christ on a cracker fuck you WWE. At least Rusev would have made it interesting. No one cares.Goddamnit
-
When did Rusev get eliminated?
-
And no one gives a flying fuck
-
Well fuck this

Ziggler or Ambrose winning is the only thing that can save the fans from shitting all over the match 2 years in a row at this point.

Bradshaw burying Mascaras is great.

Lesnar retains Rollins kills him dead with a curb stomp on a chair after the match and uses his MITB shot and wins the belt. Lesnar is a surprise entrant in the Rumble and wins turning him face. Probably won't happen but would at least be a change up.

Well, that's the proposed name anyway. This is something that I'm looking to start within the next 4 to 6 weeks. First let me introduce myself. My name is Ricky Whittenburg and I'm from a small town in East Tennessee (which happens to be the biggest county by land mass in the whole state). I'm about 15 minutes from Johnson City where the NWA/WCW ran often at Freedom Hall. Also, about an hour and a half from Knoxville. I've been a wrestling fan my entire life. My dad was always a big fan and I learned to read by having him read PWI's to me basically. He would then have me read to him so those are some of my earliest memories as a wrestling fan. I think everyone thinks they grew up in the golden era of wrestling and I'm no different. I was born in 1980 so I did get to catch the tail end of the territory days and have fond memories of watching NWA, AWA, WWF, WCCW, Continental, Memphis and even some smaller local promotions that would air at 2:00 AM and we would set the VCR to tape them. I am a father of 3 girls, a 5 year old, and twins that will be 2 next month that keep me on my toes. I work as a Special Assets Manager for a regional bank and also have hosted a weekend Oldies radio show for nearly 15 years at our local radio group. I recently just discovered there were podcasts of various forms covering current wrestling as well as old school wrestling and many things in between. I would love to cover Old School NWA but Chad and Parv have done such a tremendous job covering those anything I could do would just be redundant. I know that I've saw some live watches and reviews of various Raw's/Nitro's out there but don't know if there's a show like the one I'm proposing or not. What I'd like to do is to begin with the very first night Monday Nitro and break down the Nitro/Raw from that week. Give out the storylines weekly and the moves happening in and around wrestling. Recap each show and then come up with who the group felt was the best show each week, best wrestlers, etc. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel here. I would just like to have some fun. I'm still very much in the preliminary stages of developing this show but would like to have everything worked out and ready to roll like I originally said in the next 4-6 weeks. Are there any others on this board that may want to jump into this with me? I believe that the Monday Night Wars was my second favorite time as a wrestling fan right behind mid to late 80s. It was very strange to all of a sudden not be labeled a geek for being a fan of wrestling and actually being sought out to explain who people were and why this was happening. When, about a year before, I would have not even dared to admit I still watched. If anyone is interested in possibly being involved in this new show with me please feel free to email me at [email protected] or send a message to me through the boards. I've definitely been inspired to do this show after listening to Where the Big Boys Play, Titans of Wrestling, and Scott & Justin's Place to Be Podcast.

Where the Big Boys Play #69 - Starrcade 91
DownNDirtyTN replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I was an 11 year old kid watching this show and have some fondness of it. I have pretty much every single NWA/WCW and WWF Pay Per View on VHS tapes from 87 onwards and this was one I watched quite a bit growing up. There was something about the Lethal Lottery format that really got me pumped up to see who may face off against one another. Now, looking back as a 34 year old guy, I can see many holes in this broadcast. And why in the world do you gimmick up your flagship show? It's not like the WWE has an Elimination Chamber at Wrestlemania. This show should have been a PPV showcasing the best wrestlers in WCW with the titles on the line. Everything changes with hindsight but I don't know why they didn't use this gimmick for a Clash show or even Superbrawl in February. If I were to be able to go back there and just rebook things leading up to Starrcade I would have had Rick Rude brutalize Sting after getting DQ'd allowing Sting to remain US champion at the Clash. Rude would drop Sting with several Rude Awakenings after the match and be getting interviewed as Sting is stretchered out as the Main Event is about to take place. Luger would be walking down the aisle and looking like he was worried about his old friend showing some signs of compassion. Luger would look at Rude a bit disgusted and Rude would shoot Luger a "what you gonna do about it" stare and Luger would go on for his match against Rick Steiner. That match would be similar to how it went down except at the very end Rude would come down and waffle Luger with a chair after the match as the Steiners and Race/Hughes would brawl down the aisle and away from the ring. Rude would hit the Rude Awakening on Luger taking him out also and telling Luger he should have just stayed out of this situation. This leads up to Starrcade where Luger will defend the title against Rude in the cage. Luger will be a bit of a tweener, and I know having him flip flop so shortly after turning at the Bash isn't the ideal situation but Luger would be fighting for his friend Sting as Rude went over the line. Sting would sell the injury through Starrcade and not participate with Luger carrying the banner for Sting who may have to retire due to the injuries to his neck from the Rude Awakenings he took. In the match I'd have Rude get the upper hand and drop Luger with back to back Rude Awakenings. Sting will come down with a neck brace on and after Luger continues to be decimated he will throw in the towel for his old friend handing Rude the title in shocking fashion. This would carry over to TV and over the following couple of weeks. Sting would be interviewed and asked why he done it and he would be giving a heartfelt promo about not wanting Lex to wind up like him. Sting will say thankfully he will be cleared to wrestle by Superbrawl but the Rude Awakenings could have ended his career and not wanting his best friend Lex to face a similar situation so he stopped the match and the damage to Luger. Lex would come out and be teary eyed himself. He would hug Sting and tell him that he loves him. Sting would raise Luger's hand and say that the Total Package will get a shot at Rude at Superbrawl. Luger will grab the microphone and say well that's not possible. Sting will of course question Luger and say why not. Luger will then give Sting a vicious clothesline. He'll pick him up and Rack Sting until he's unconscious. Luger will say that's for costing him the thing he loved the most. He will say that Sting may have been his best friend but Luger will say he realized that his very best friend in the world is the color green and Sting cost him a lot of money when he threw in the towel. This will lead to Sting signing up to face Luger at Superbrawl in a retirement match. This will allow Lex to job clean and leave WCW - still losing to Sting but with a much different twist. For the rest of my fantasy Starrcade card it would go something like this: Brian Pillman vs The Tailor Made Man Terry Taylor for the Light Heavyweight Title Firebreaker Chip/Todd Champion/Tom Zenk vs The Freebirds & Diamond Studd PN News vs Cactus Jack Vader/Mr. Hughes vs The Steiner Brothers Marcus Bagwell vs Bobby Eaton Stunning Steve Austin vs Van Hammer for the Television Title Dustin Rhodes and Ricky Steamboat vs The Enforcers for the World Tag Team Titles - best of 3 falls Lex Luger vs Rick Rude for the World Heavyweight Title.
