    AJ Styles

I think those "WTF?!?" reactions were to the way it was booked. He debuted at Invasion Attack to crickets, then beat Okada twice in two underwhelming matches that were plagued by interference.
  2. ^ That's as good of a rundown for Lost as you'll find. I've always enjoyed the guy and stood out to me as probably the best worker of the PWG 6, at least from early PWG, but someone that I can't even begin to find room for on my list. Top 100 indie workers, sure. But not a list this grand.
  3. That list is going to be a big help. I'll check out the podcast, also. Thanks.

    AJ Styles

100% - he had such a TNA stench on him that no one wanted to see how great he was. It was still there when this project started and it plagued him throughout his run in TNA. He's a little crisper and much more motivated now, but it's not like he had a revelation and just decided to be a great worker. He's been great since 2002 but the environment he was in prevented some from seeing it. He's looked at as a star now, which disproves theories about him being a flippy geek that worked in Nashville. The entire outlook on AJ has changed.
  5. Could someone do the same with Flair? That's a serious question and someone like Parv has watched much more Flair than I have. The list GOTNW made for Danielson is outstanding and there are a lot of noticeable names that he left off. Aries, YAMATO, Jimmy Rave, Samoa Joe, Bobby Fish, etc. - all guys that Danielson has worked with in their best match or one of their best matches.
  6. He's certainly better than Davey Richards but he's clearly a step or two behind someone like Roddy. He's done some great things, but him being in TNA for two years has made me realize he's really replaceable. I don't miss him in ROH or PWG for the most part and I have no urge to check out his TNA work, which is just as much because of him as it is me hating TNA. Very good wrestler, but not someone I'd vote for.

    Bobby Fish

Mainly wanted to get Bobby Fish nominated in case Lanza ends up submitting a ballot because I know he'll vote for Fish. Fish has an interesting career. His early run in NOAH was fun. I haven't seen anything besides one six-man with Misawa in 2009 that I would recommend, but he never looked bad. He was somewhat of a charisma void in EVOLVE, but I love his match with Hero from EVOLVE 3. The Danielson match from the next show is just as good. Now that I think about it, his EVOLVE run is pretty under appreciated. I don't know who injected he and Kyle O'Reilly with charisma but I've loved every second of those two teaming together for almost three years now. Obviously there's The Briscoes, but besides maybe the Kings of Wrestling and Aries & Strong, who has had a better tag run in ROH? A lot of that is due to Fish. He is outstanding in his role. Now he's getting more chances to shine as a singles star and he's not disappointing. Doesn't hurt that he's one of the most entertaining guys to watch live. Great at interacting with the crowd. He'll be 95-100 if I vote for him, but I'm really not opposed to doing so. Someone who's skill would convince me, more so than his peak.

    B-Boy

He has a wonderful match with Drake Younger from PWG (Drake's debut in that promotion, actually) and a fun, four minute sprint with Joe in IWA-MS. Other than that, I've never really been a fan of him as a worker. As a person, he seems lovely. Not coming anywhere near my list.
  9. For what it's worth, he's survived on the main roster for longer than I thought he would. There still seems to be at least a small portion of the audience that cares about him and besides Owens, Cena and Cesaro, he's been my favorite main roster worker over the past year. He also benefits from having a 2011 that was out of this world. Ricochet would not be what he is today without working PAC in 2011. There's a huge difference between December 2010 Ricochet and December 2011 Ricochet. I love Neville and I think he's really good in a variety of settings, but he's someone who I can't justify in my Top 100. 105-110, I could buy an argument. He just doesn't click with me enough to call him one of the 100 best workers ever.

  11. I'm not really a deathmatch fan, but Kasai has always had a unique charisma that has makes me check out his matches on occasion. His 2004 match with Marufuji is a blast. That being said, I hate his 2013 match with Masada from Wrestlecon. That's mostly Masada's fault because he's literally the worst, but Kasai wasn't much of a help. Someone who won't make my list, but I'd love to hear someone who likes him pimp him. He's a very interesting wrestler.
  12. I probably like JBL more than I should. His stuff with Rey helps, both the 2004 match that was mentioned above and their 2006 stuff. The Cena and Eddie stuff is wonderful, but he doesn't have any business being near my list. Solid talent at times, but when I think about guys on my bubble, JBL doesn't come close to them.
  13. My thoughts echo GOTNW exactly.

    Big Show

Shocked to see Big Show get as much support as he's getting in this thread and in the thread about active WWE roster members. I think he's actively bad most of the time and I don't get people thinking he's a great worker.
  15. Zayn, Cena, Aries, Joe, Styles, Cesaro, and Brock are locks. Owens is on the bubble.
  16. He's hovering around my #15 right now.
  17. I don't have a problem with voting for anyone in their prime. Okada is making my ballot. Same with YAMATO, Sekimoto, and Akira Tozawa, among others. Someone like Tozawa has done more than enough over the last five years to make me go, "yes, he's one of the 100 greatest wrestlers of all-time". He doesn't have the benefit of hindsight, but in the moment I can clearly see that he's good enough to make my list.
  18. I planned on submitting a tag ballot but life got in the way and I never had time to dive into teams the way I wanted to. That being said, yeah, the lack of Japanese teams being represented is weird to me. There are teams that I like like KENTAFuji, Speed Muscle, & MochiFujii that I don't expect to receive a lot of praise on this site, but Footloose, Jumbo/Tenryu, Hase/Sasaki, etc. deserve much more love.
  19. If we're talking current WWE performers, Shane gets an easy vote over Del Rio, Big Show, Mark Henry, and Randy Orton.
  20. His Open the Freedom Gate run rivals any ROH World Title run besides Danielson's and maybe Joe's. The YAMATO match, the two Tozawa matches, his stuff with Chuck Taylor, the Hero match, and the Shingo match -- it's all great. He's adopted into modern EVOLVE really well, also. He'll be a game time decision. If he finds his way onto my ballot, it'll be at 95-100.
  21. Johnny Gargano http://www.voicesofwrestling.com/2016/01/25/evolve-55-review/ http://www.voicesofwrestling.com/2016/01/25/evolve-54-review/ http://www.voicesofwrestling.com/2016/01/24/evolve-53-january-22-review/
  22. He's been far and away the best worker on ECW on TNN as I've been going through them on the Network. #2 might be Super Crazy, but the gap is huge. Between that and his pre-US run that I've been watching, Tajiri is really adding to his case. I don't think he'll fit in my Top 50, but he'll be close.
  23. Someone who I think is very good and who I think ROH really missed the boat on, but he'd barely make my Top 100 if I was just including active wrestlers. I like him, but I'd be shocked if anyone voted for him.
  24. No chance and I think he's pretty good, but he's been pretty good for what, a year now? Maybe in 10 years he'll find his way onto my list.
  25. There are people much worse that have been nominated, but no, Shane won't finish in my Top 100.
