  1. Okay finally have some time to catch up on these things. Shingo finishing at 255 is just silly to me. He was my #21 and someone that I could've probably ranked higher. There was a part of me that wanted to put him over Misawa, but that was my bias getting in the way of things. To me, Shingo is perhaps the best offensive wrestler ever. No one makes his stuff look as brutal or intense as him. Wide array of suplexes, slams, and strikes that all look really good. I remember when the Mochizuki match was buzzing, people were criticizing his punches. Whatever. They look like Tenryu's. I like that. His heel work is top notch. One of the best heels in puro history. Just has such an unlikable presence about him that really shows up in his work when he's at his best. Elite peak. I believe that if Parv would've put CIMA through the BIGLAV system then he would've at least come close to ranking for him. I never got around to making a huge case for CIMA because I cut out nearly all Dragon System viewing for the last few months of GWE watching because I felt comfortable with all of the guys I was ranking. CIMA has two peaks. He was a prodigy. By 21 in MPro he had it figured out. Great bumping, selling, offense, and especially facials. That leads into his Toryumon run which I'm a big fan of. Behind Mochizuki as the best worker in Toryumon. Someone that would carry Magnum, Kanda, etc. to really good performances. Then, old man CIMA is the inverse. He keeps things simple and smooth. His 2014 run was awesome and he had a great tag team with Gamma of all people. His December 2015 match was unreal. ****1/2 and one of those matches that I personally think transcends the Dragon System style but who knows. Mochizuki was my #10, glad to see Alan have him even higher. He might have gone up if I would've devoted more time to Toryumon because as soon as GWE ended, I went back to binging on Toryumon and Mochizuki has been outstanding. 2011 was his best year and one of the single best in-ring years I've ever seen. He's constantly in conversation for Most Outstanding. He's an elite worker. Someone who has "intangibles" shooting through the roof. I think for a majority of this site, CIMA has the stronger case because he works a simpler style that I could see some people on here really liking, but Mochizuki is everything I want from a wrestler. Finished ahead of Flair, Misawa, Akiyama, etc. I believe this means no DG wrestler will be in the Top 100. Disappointing, but something that will more than likely change 10 years from now.
  2. Shocked to see anyone vote Shingo higher than me. I had him at #21. I guess if anyone was going to do it, it'd be Alan. The sad thing is this probably means Mochizuki is fast approaching...
  3. The wackiness doesn't bother me because we're still in the 300s. If Alberto Del Rio ends up at like #75 on the big list, then I'll have a problem.
  4. R.I.P Shingo and his ducks. Hello, Genki Horiguchi.
  5. Peeved at the six votes for Reigns. Baffled by B-Boy and Gulak's placements.
  6. As predicted, I'm higher on the DG guys. Horiguchi and Ryo Saito are my two high votes so far. Someone had Milano higher than me and rightfully so. Kicking myself for putting him at 96.
  7. Grimmas, #476 is Yuji Okabayashi. You're missing a few letters in that last name. I tried to cut as much extra Dragon System viewing out of my system for the past six months since that's my area of expertise. Since then I've been watching a lot of 2004 Dragon Gate, right after the Toryumon split, and I'm convinced that me voting Milano at #96 was way too low. I could easily move him up 5-10 spots. He comes across as a total star and every bit as good as CIMA and Mochizuki in that time period. I guess I forgot about that because most of my Milano love comes from T2P.

    Thanks, Grimmas

    The Voter List

I don't see my name on here? Oh man, am I blind or did I fuck something up? I know I didn't want to be anonymous
  10. I was the only vote for Genki. He deserved my #100 spot. Glad he's represented in some fashion.
  11. Gedo is a much better singles worker than Jado. The Devitt match from 2013 is one of the best junior matches of this decade and one of the better matches of the current NJPW era. I don't know who voted for him or if his 90s grimy stuff with WAR and whatnot helped his case, but a lot of people are really high on old-man Gedo and his recent run.
  12. Yoshihito Sasaki is one of my guys and I really wanted to find room for him. He ended up being one of my last cuts. Heartbroken no one voted for Arai. I wouldn't have, he wouldn't even finish in my 150, but I know there were people that showed interest in voting for him.
  13. Is Takada considered a heavy hitter? He's someone that I easily passed on. Didn't give him much thought at all.
  14. Fuchi finished #67 for me. Not sure if that's the high vote or not.
  15. A number of 80s guys that didn't have strong runs in Japan. Didn't watch as much territory stuff as I would've liked but whatever. The only lucha guy I ranked was Casas, so anyone ranked purely off of Mexico work besides him didn't rank for me. No Lawler, no Inoki, no Onita, no Andre.
  16. Jimmy Jacobs has to be in the conversation. Super peak with his feuds with Cabana, Whitmer, and Aries, but man when he's bad, he's unwatchable.
  17. Vader was going to be my pick. Crushed that he and Rey aren't on every ballot.
  18. It's almost entirely the latter. As you know, I always did and still see the project as being much much more about the former, hence BIGLAV and ranking people I don't love. If it was just a purely subjective list motivated only by my personal feelings, that 100 would be my list. Eagle-eyed readers among you might be able to spot Kurt Angle at #80, which should be of interest to Case and others who I argued with about that before. I still like Angle deep down, but I can separate the heart and the head. I don't really care where you rank Angle, I just have an issue with you scoffing at the idea of Angle being a Top 20 contender.
  19. Tanner has Generico in his Top 10 and he never made a post about it. I mean, he was my #23, but there are going to be some guys that place ridiculously high on some people's ballot and their thread might have minimal discussion. I don't know how the votes are being totaled, but I doubt me voting Masaaki Mochizuki at #10 guarantees him a spot in the final 100. I'm an outlier in that sense.
  20. I was actually coming to this thread to say the same thing. I don't even like HARASHIMA but he should've been nominated.
  21. Never made that Generico post. Scum.
  22. Finally, I'm done with this project. Yikes.

    Kurt Angle

    +1 for Matt D

    Kurt Angle

Can you explain what that psychology is? Angle is a jock, an asshole, and at his best, he plays that up. His heat portions are excellent. He stands over his opponents, he bullies them, he suplexes them into oblivion because he's a legitimate athlete. He gets caught doing the same routine, whether that be by Rey, Edge, HBK, or whoever, and begins to pay the price for it. That's what leads into his finishing stretches. The counters, the quickness, the excitement. It all builds.

Psychology is subjective and context matters in every situation, so that's a pretty lofty claim that I don't find to be true whatsoever.
