  1. Ah, great timing. I'm listening to Exile On Bad Street and Parv has just mentioned Martel as a potential WWF champion. Look forward to the above with much discussion on Martel. He and Steamboat, for me, are the two smoothest guys to ever step in the ring.
  2. Marty, I have 3-4 Strike Force/Islanders matches, and yeah, good stuff. Also have some singles stuff of Martel vs Haku and Tama. Here's the Hogan tag match from above. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xgrknd_hulk-hogan-koko-b-ware-vs-honky-tonk-man-kamala_sport
  3. A labour of love, it's clear it's exactly that in the way you guys deliver the show. As long as you guys keep pumping out TTBA, I'll keep listening. I look forward to your 87 show. Stundy and Sholkoff came from texting a friend, who also loves the 80s WWF. I got sick of typing Bundy and Studd, and also Shiek and Volkoff anytime I watched their matches, so I came up with a shorter form of the names. On You Tube, there is an uploader named Monsoon Classic that you've probably run across in your research of your show. Many matches from the WWF 80s tag teams there.
  4. Heard Marty talking his man love of Studd's Bodyslam Challenge. I hadn't seen this clip before and I was't aware that Studd was doing this angle as early as February 19, 1983. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLpaDeqxwyE
  5. Excellent match. As Sarge continued to pound on Backlund, the title was in real danger and the fans knew it. So they rallied for Backlund, and the champ fought hard for them. Over 30 years later, and this match still stands up very well.
  6. If I could watch only one time period and one type of match, it would be the 80s WWF tag team scene. Thank you guys for covering it in such depth, really enjoying re living all these matches. Have some recommendations for you, if you haven't covered them yet. 1984 Andre/Hillbilly vs Stundy Andre/Snuka vs Piper/Schutlz Andre/Sarge vs Sholkoff 1985 Hogan/Hillbilly vs Stundy Tonga/Afi vs Stundy Harts squash matches are good from 85 and 86 as you can see them developing as a team. Hogan/Snuka vs Orton/Muraco Andre/JYD/Snuka vs Jesse/Patera/Studd 1986 Bulldogs vs Dream Team where DT wins after a headclash and Valentine gets a lucky cover as he falls over. US Express vs Harts Dream Team vs Hillbillies Dec 30th 1987 Hogan/Koko vs Kamala/Honky Martel/JYD vs Harts Davey/JYD vs Harts Islanders vs Bees Steamboat/Hogan vs Savage/Honky Three Elimination matches from 1987 - Steamboat/JYD/Piper vs Savage/Race/Adonis, Hogan/Haynes/Piper vs Herc/Adonis/Orndorff, Tito/Jake/Bruno vs Harts/Honky 1988 Steamboat/Savage vs Harts Feb 07th Demos vs Strikeforce when Martel does the injury angle 1989 Rockers vs Harts Dec 12th Rockers vs Rougeaus from London. Goes near half an hour. I feel if this happened on PPV or at least in the US, it would be talked about in glowing terms to this day.
  7. Totally enjoyed this thank you, good mix of historical content and having fun with the craziness that wrestling brings at times. The comment of Andre's jealously of Hulk Machine leading to WM3 cracked me up
  8. Excellent run as heels, honing their craft through 1985-86. Quality outings with the British Bulldogs, Killer Bees, The Rougeaus, Islanders and even their squash matches, which I went back and watched a truckload of, were a good watch. They won the Tags at the right time, as they really understood their heel role well, with subtle cheating moments and Jimmy Hart being an annoying mosquito buzzing around ringside. Yet more great matches ensued during the Tag run, but also after losing the belts. Being faces didn't hurt them at all either, which is a huge plus from me. Taking on the now Fabulous Rougeaus, Demolition, Brain Busters, Power And Glory, The Rockers and a one time only encounter with the Legion Of Doom, I continued to enjoy their stuff. Heel, face, challengers or champions, in a huge 6 year run as a team, they always stood out on any card they were on. For me, they are the best I've seen in my time as a fan.
  9. I would very much like to see the Rougeaus/Garvins matches. In a shoot, Jacques talked about the angle where the Garvins attacked the Dad of he and Raymond and the mayhem that ensued. Sounds like essential viewing.
  10. As a fan from Australia, I didn't get to see much of the Fabs. I'd be interested in a comp though, depending on what is on it.
  11. I think it was a strange duo to put together but they made it work. While Valentine was the workhorse, no one would ever argue that, I feel Beefcake improved as time went on and held up his end quite well. Nearly 30 years on, The Dream Teams matches against name teams like the Bulldogs, Rougeaus, Islanders, Bees and US Express, are still quality in my eyes. Even matches against the Hillbillies, Tito/Pedro, and maybe a few other throw together tag teams, still hold up well.
