  1. What are the little things that a wrestler does or says that really appeal to you? Things that may be small, fun or serious, but it makes the character, match, feud, angle or such, so much better? A few to start; Rick Martel wearing the badge Ýes, I am a model' always made me smile. Iron Shieks pointed boots. Sgt Slaughters bump over the turnbuckles to crack his head open on the top of the ringpost. Bret Hart hitting the turnbuckles chest first off an Irish whip reversal. When Flair would walk to the ring, and whether the champ or not, would fan his arms out so his robe can be seen in all it's glory. Then, he would slowly do a 360 to show every fan in the arena, that he was every bit The Man. When Stan Lane would introduce Jim Cornette as Your friend and mine, the man who stone Ivana from Donald, Mrrrrr Jiiiim Corrrrnette. Gavin Loudspeakers hair in Chikara. When The Addiction insist on being announced as the World Tag Team Champions of the World in ROH.
  2. I've heard on a few different pods the question Which wrestlers would you have in a modern day Four Horsemen? How about who would you have as an old school Four Horsemen? 4 guys in the group, who's prime was before the formation of the original group? Be interested to see who you both put in your groups. And choose a manager who also had his hey day before JJ Dillon led the 4H.
  3. Thanks for the reply guys. Glad to know everyone's ideas are taken on board and may get the Dangerous Alliance treatment at some point.
  4. JT and Will, I looked back through every page here and many great ideas have not been used yet. I hope you guys read through and form some new games. I always enjoy hearing the opening to the show and wondering where the games are gonna go.
  5. Hart Foundation vs British Bulldogs, 4/28 SNME The New Dream Team vs Rougeau Brothers 5/9 Philly Demolition vs Killer Bees 5/18 MSG Hart Foundation vs Can Am Connection 6/3 Rochester Demolition vs Can Am Connection 6/6 Boston Brutus Beefcake, Rougeau Brothers vs The New Dream Team, Johnny V 6/23 Indianapolis Hart Foundation vs British Bulldogs 7/25 MSG A lot of quality matches in this ep, with Harts/Can Ams being my fave of the bunch. I had not seen the Harts/Bulldogs from 07/25/87. Was a touch on the short side, but intense and physical. By this time, Bret was already a superstar in the making, where everything he did, had snap to it. Very much looking forward to the Strike Force/Islanders special. And glad to know you are including the singles matches from those teams. I will be watching the matches I have from this feud before listening to you guys break it down; Martel vs Tama 07/25 Martel vs Haku 08/22 Tito vs Haku 10/06 Martel and JYD vs Islanders. Unsure if my date of 10/07 is correct. and 3 SF vs Islanders matches.
  6. Always look forward to a new one from Chad and Parv. I like that they actually listen to each other, not talk over each other or hammer their point home at the expense of the show going off course.
  7. Martel is my man crush so very much looking forward to discussion of hot tags, babyface fire and loopy bootlaces.
  8. Thanks guys. Can Ams vs Harts, wow, whatta super match with a hot crowd. A Rick Martel hot tag is one of the prime reasons I am in love with 80s tag wrestling. At about the 11 minute mark, Bret scurries from the ring, with Zenk in pursuit. It looks like Bret legit mows Jimmy Hart down, it didn't look a spot. I would have liked Zenk to stick around, even a few more months, to get more from these two teams.
  9. Have not watched this yet but was only posted 3 days ago on YT. Has French commentary but still a good find I hope. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEq3OXBKW2w
  10. No problem. When TTBA drops, it always shoots to the top of my Must Listen pile. Good to find others with such love for 80s tag wrestling.

  12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htfoU56Kjyk How about this one I just found on YT? Good match. I never knew these teams went against each other.
  13. Going through my match listings, found some from mid 1987 you may be able to track down if you have not seen them; Bulldogs/Haynes vs Harts/Davis 14 June 1987 Hogan/Patera vs Herc/Race 26 June 1987 Tito/Jake/Bruno vs Harts/Honky 15 August 1987 JYD/Steele vs Demolition 22 August 1987
  14. Listening right now where Kelly is talking re the memorable magazine cover. As soon as he said those words, I knew the one he was talking about. The Steamboat/Piper/JYD vs Savage/Adonis/Race match, that is so much fun to watch. A lot of star power and I like too that it had a different flavour from everything else of the time. I watch that match about once a year. And yeah, Slick is funny on commentary. Hogan/Piper/Haynes vs Orndorff/Herc/Adonis while not as good a match was still a fun watch. Agree with Kelly where he said the Hogan/Kamala singles matches were a good watch. If one of those had been on PPV or SNME, they'd be a lot more talked about. Hogans magnetism was phenomenal, as mentioned by Marty. Special Bee-livery Jones, an honorary Bee. Not really much honor there. Great topic bringing up masked confusion between Blair and Jones Hogan/Koko vs Kamala/Honky, the commentator you couldn't place was Craig De George. I remember him most for being the man holding the mic when DiBiase first stated he was going to buy the WWF World title. One fun thing I like with Hogan is how he plays well with his tag partner in taking on their mannerisms, such as Koko's bird flapping arms, JYDs dance, etc. Thanks for the shout out re the match recommendations. Any others I see that I think could do with the TTBA treatment, I will post them up here. Great listen guys, thanks for covering the tag team facet of wrestling so well. Many memories bought up every ep. Always look forward to your next show.
  15. Really enjoyed this thanks guys. Good mix of the known WM stuff with the more obscure matches. Good to see your new ep up quickly as well. Will be starting that one right now.
  16. Marty, were you an angry man on this episode? You must have dropped at least 20 F bombs in a 2 hour span. I usually very much enjoy your analysis of the matches, but thought it took away from the flow of what you were trying to say.
  17. Listening right now, thanks for putting in one of my suggestions in Davey/JYD vs Harts. Not an essential match on anyone's list but good fun for sure. That Can Ams/Dream Team match was superb, thanks for putting me onto it.

  19. Parv, I found it interesting where you were talking about how you viewed wrestling through the years, seeing as you are from England. I am an Australian, and we had a similar thing happen with wrestling being on tv at ridiculous hours of the early morning. At times, it'd be shown at the more fan friendly time of midnight, so I would stay up for my weekly dose of WWF squash matches on a Friday night, but sometimes it would be bumped for the golf or tennis. I was not a happy boy on those occasions. No announcement was ever made the week before and no explanation was ever given either. As for hiring VHS tapes, 6 months after the show happened, seemed to be about the mark for Australian fans seeing a show. And if you didn't get a copy the day of release, you would sometimes have to wait a few more days while other fans had their way with the tape. The bastards.
  20. I have just put that match on my phone. When is the next ep of TTBA dropping?
  21. Idea for a new game Defend Your Corner. Justin at one point said he liked Honky Tonk Man, Will said he had no time for him at all (I'm with Will here as Steamboat was also my childhood idol). Will has love for El Dandy, while I don't think Justin has really every seen his stuff (neither have I, just using these two wrestlers as an example). So from there, Justin and Will have to fight for their guy, taking it in turns to make a point, as to who contributed more to the wrestling business.
  22. Really enjoyed the debate over Road Warriors and Demolition, where it turned into Generation or Region, as to how that influenced your thought process of those two teams. Maybe Generation or Region could be a new game. There doesn't even need to be a defining answer, as both your generation and the region you grew up in, would both have influence over your views. And each wrestler, tag team, angle, feud, etc would be seen differently based on those variables. Take a topic, debate Generation or Region, and let the sparks fly.
  23. Thanks to the Exile On Bad Street podcast, I've been watching Mid South stuff of Tommy Rich, Dutch Mantell, Koko Ware and others. Really enjoying the various guys that float in and out of Memphis, and how they add to the mix.
  24. Outstanding show. So many little stories about many of the names mentioned. So many credible guys who could have had a run with the title, be it transitional or mid or long term. Top 3 for me would be Sarge, Valentine or Masked Superstar. I now look forward to hearing EBS on the UWF, and also the one on The Freebirds.
