The returning Balor would be an easy feud to run for a couple of months. They can do a match with Finn fighting valiantly and losing then a second where he does his dress-up BS. Vince would be all over that shit. Though I don't think doing quasi comedy matches with both men practically in drag would help Finn become the top babyface Raw so desperately needs. Fuck it, just have Goldberg squash him at Mania.

If I was in charge, Wyatt squashes him in five minutes and then Rollins is off TV for at least a month. Obviously that won't happen because he's already booked for Blood Money Mania but he needs a break from TV because he's so overexposed.

Meltzer has been reporting that Seth Rollins segments have been the lowest rated on Raw for the last number of weeks. Surely they've got to stop pushing this guy and Sunday should really be the end of the road for him as a main event championship wrestler. He was a disaster on top as a heel in 2015 and he's been a disaster on top as a face in 2019. The sort of wrestler people get excited about the idea of and then quickly get bored by the reality.

My hunch on this is that they were going to be a surprise for TV and PAC was going to be the surprise for All Out, but when Moxley had to pull out and PAC was announced ahead of time, they through LAX on All Out to still have a surprise debut.

NXT doing a 15 minute overrun tomorrow to cut into the AEW replay is hilarious to me. Vince is really hotshotting the fuck out of everything and I hope it blows up in his face.

It really does feel to me like the old story of NXT was that guys told their story and moved on while now it feels like Gargano, Ciampa, Undisputed Era etc. have all been done to death without being called up and making space for the next wave. And now that they're on TV and in a war, those guys are going to be kept around as the established stars and the logjam issue isn't going to be resolved.

The last time NXT was truly compelling to me in terms of actual storytelling was Sami Zayn's rise and Kevin Owens' debut and turn from 2013-14. The women's stuff with Bayley's rise was great too, but not as much as Zayn for me. Did Dusty still have power then? Since then, it was bland superindy with Balor, Joe, Roode and Nakamura on top and nothing happening angle wise. That's when they really lost me. The storyline stuff since has been way too melodramatic and I'm 100% willing to blame Shawn for Emo Gargano and staring at his hands. I don't really care for Gargano and Cole doing overblown PWG matches either. I'm not sure if HHH is a good or bad booker but really, if my comments on Dusty's and Shawn's influence are correct, his stuff just doesn't have that much of an identity of its own.

Rusev has all the tools to be a star. Good look, good work, great charisma and offers something different to most of the people they push. The fact he has a hot wife who works well as a manager should be an asset to his career, not something they keep using against him. Still, if they get out of their own way, Lashley vs Rusev could be great. And I guess they can explain away the angle by making out like Lana thought Rusev got Maria pregnant.

Rusev really ought to get out of there.

I was actually somewhat interested in what Rey could get out of Rollins. But Jesus Christ, Brock should be arrested for murder after that angle.

They're doing a countdown show tomorrow where it looks like the partners for Jericho Vs The Elite will be revealed. Cody vs Sammy Guevara and PAC Vs Hangman Page are also booked for Wednesday. I can't lie, this is the most excited I've been about wrestling in a long time. I'm really trying to manage my expectations but I hope this show is a home run.

Maybe it's depressing because Punk could be a difference maker for AEW while WWE has such a track record of turning potential difference makers into nothing that he'll not feel special for very long if he goes back. And really, as a fan, him going to the other side and stoking the flames of the war is way more exciting.
