Yeah, it would be great if they could replicate that Nitro feeling of having a couple of WTF matches on TV every week. Taurus vs Luchasaurus, Tanahashi vs Dustin, get those alliances working and inject this shit into my veins.
-
Surely they'd love to do Omega vs Kota at Dominion or something next year. Make it happen, get Sammy Guevara into the Super Juniors and give us Juice and Archer on Wednesday nights. I wonder if the AAA-AEW alliance would make it difficult as well? It just seems like it makes too much sense to let these smaller concerns get in the way though. New Japan can easily call the shots with any of their current partners.

We've tried our level best to tank the wrestling business in America, now time to suffocate the rest of the world with our ever-extending blanket of mediocrity. AEW and New Japan really need to grow up and start working together.

All I could think of reading this post is that Tom Selleck is getting the belt at the next Saudi Blood Money show.

This company is such a mess. I know Seth's tweets are old news now but this tickled me. I don't know if this meme got big outside of UK/Ireland but it's perfect: https://twitter.com/GlobalForceGold/status/1184170573640994819?s=19

Tbf, I feel like Taichi vs Naito was a last minute substitute because ZSJ couldn't travel. But yeah, they need some fresh matches on top and I think that'll ultimately mean cycling Okada out of the title picture for 2020. Whether Gedo can stick to this is a different matter. Ibushi or Naito carrying things could at least give us some new main events. Hopefully G1 being in the autumn next year means we can cut down on the formality briefcase matches and just go straight into the January 4th main event. In fairness, I haven't got to watch the actual show properly yet but I felt some of your booking concerns just looking at the card before it even happened.

Lol I got the dentist joke but I didn't want to jump in and explain it haha. You're like the Meltzer twitter of PWO.

Fox really got the raw end of the deal on the rosters too. I wonder if anyone over there is having buyers remorse.
-
Lol they pulled out the shitty Orton angle that killed off Smackdown all over again.
-
Charlotte was all over the Fox promotion for Smackdown and now she's not even on the show. They must've promised them Ronda or something in return. HHH was implying that she was on her way back.

Gotta get to that big 16 in time for Mania so we can watch Ric cry again

Modric as Rollins is a good one. Everyone was clamouring for them to get the top prize in 2018 but the 2019 drop-off has been dramatic.

Oh Neymar is a prick. But in about 2014/15 or so, it felt like there was a concerted marketing push to put him on the level of Messi and Ronaldo which hasn't really stuck. There were a couple of seasons where he was great at Barcelona but now he's just another player who's probably top twenty in the world but not threatening being number one. Also, famous for his work in a trio (with Messi and Suarez at Barcelona). I feel like there are some Roman Reigns parallels there.

Bennett pretty much sucks imo but Maria would make a good throwback valet for NWA. The only issue there is that her pregnancy is going to have her out for a bit and he'll have to go it alone for a bit.
-
Has she though? Because after every big carny thing she thought she was pulling off she was left with less and less.
-
On this sporting analogy point, is Roman Reigns the Neymar of WWE?
-
Okada is Okada and he'll always be pushed hard but I feel like I can't wait for them to change the belt at Wrestlekingdom just to get some fresh matches on top.
-
That does suck! Happy for Archer to be getting his shot though and I hope they can get Mox for the Dome as a make good.
-
This shit needs to air on the television. They might actually have a star on their hands with Darby. There's a bit of a Jeff Hardy energy with him, but with a bit more edge.
-
That's a good comparison actually. I've never been a comic person. I had a few when I was like 8-10 years old but it was never a serious hobby. Sometimes I've thought it would be a cool thing to get into but it just seems like there are so many timeline and dimensions and versions of the same character and spin-off series etc. that it's completely impenetrable for a newcomer to get their head around. WWE is similar in that way. So many titles, hours of TV, WWE jargon language quirks and unexplained characters etc. that I don't know how anyone could start following it from scratch.

Even if you take the Blood Money stuff out of it, look at the main matches advertised for Raw and Smackdown shows so far in the New Boom Era LOL. Raw last week: Mysterio vs Rollins for the title never happens Smackdown last week: Brock vs Kofi lasts seven seconds. No Austin, Taker or Sting. Raw this week: nothing happening show but there was the Fury brawl Smackdown this week: Reigns vs Rollins has no finish because of the Spooky Murder Clown Two weeks into this thing and they can barely even deliver what they've advertised.

I would love someone to do a survey into those 50+ year olds who are watching WWE because the company thinks it's catering to young people and so much of the in-ring style has shifted in the wake of what indies were doing in the last 15 years or so, which you'd expect to cater to your 20-35 year old smark. So I'd love to know who these 50+ year old fans are, who they see as stars, what they like about WWE etc.

Bryan Alvarez made a good point on Observer Radio earlier (even with Dave talking over him and not really taking on board what he was saying). If you were a new viewer watching the advertised Reigns vs Rollins match, how the fuck would you respond to the ending being a weird fat guy in a clown mask pulling one of the wrestlers under the ring? You'd turn the channel and never look back because it's embarrassing shit and makes absolutely no sense.
