  1. Episode #2 April 11, 1991 WBIR-TV (Channel 10-Knoxville) Opening: Music is playing with a background picture of the mountains while some videos of wrestlers in action are cutting into the frame. We see a top rope knee drop from Rip Rogers, a back body drop by Bob Armstrong, Dirty Dutch Mantel using Shoo Baby on some poor jobber, Steve Keirn laying in some big right hands on The Grappler, Tim Horner rolling someone up for the pin, followed up by Stunning Steve Austin connecting with the Stun Gun and the last picture showed a 6-man tag team match that has gone completely out of control! Les Thatcher: Welcome wrestling fans, from the Civic Auditorium Studio, in Knoxville, Tennessee, welcome to Smoky Mountain Wrestling, the way wrestling used to be and just the way to like. I’m Les Thatcher and on this week’s show you’re going to be seeing “The Tax Man” Irwin R. Schyster facing off against Sweet Brown Sugar. “The Hustler” Rip Rogers will be back in action but this time he has stepped up in competition as “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff makes his Smoky Mountain debut. “Dirty” Dutch takes on Scott Armstrong as Dutch tries to show “Stunning” Steve just how it’s done and in our main event, “the Wild-eyed Southern Boys” Steve Armstrong and Tracy Smothers look for revenge from last week’s deplorable actions by The Russians… Ivan Koloff and Boris Zhukov. We will also be talking to a “Double J” Jeff Jarrett. “The original Knoxville Bad Boy” Ron Wright has once again asked for time this week in hopes of giving his side of the story to last week’s man event between Stan Lane and Ivan Koloff. Also, “Stunning” Steve Austin will join us! And to help me call all the action, here’s none other than “Dirty” Dutch Mantell. The crowd starts with a loud chorus of boos! Dutch Mantell: Whatever … boo all you want… you just don’t know when you’re in the presence of greatness. I will show all you uneducated people and that “big nothing” Steve Austin what a wrestling star looks like. Les Thatcher: Fans, it’s going to be a great hour so stay with us. I can’t wait to see if Dutch can back up everything he says. We’re about ready for action so let’s go to the ring. Match #1: “The Tax Man” Irwin R. Schyster vs Sweet Brown Sugar Again, I.R.S. took time to blame the people of East Tennessee for their own problems of alcoholism and poverty; stating Moonshine is the root of all evil. He reminded them that just like Sweet Brown Sugar, they will all have to pay the Tax Man. As for the match, Sweet Brown Sugar does get in a little offense but when he went to the well once too often with the Missile Drop Kick, I.R.S. swatted him away and then beat him all over the ring with the end coming by way of the Samoan Drop! Commercial Break “Fans if you’d like to raise money for your school, club or civic organization and you’d like to see all the excitement Smoky Mountain Wrestling provides, then this message is for you. Bring the stars of Smoky Mountain Wrestling to your town simply by calling (703) 989-6819 or send your letters to P.O. Box 1279, Morristown, Tennessee. Wrestling the way it used to be and wrestling the way you like it! BE THERE!!” Coming out of break we get some words from Double J, Jeff Jarrett JJ: It’s a pleasure being here in Smoky Mountain Wrestling where I get to wrestle for the fans of the great state and my home state of Tennessee. Two things I know for sure is that the people of Tennessee love their music and love their wrestling. I’m looking forward to being in that Smoky Mountain Tournament in a few weeks were the first Smoky Mountain Champion will be crowned and I’d love your support… GO ROCKY TOP! MATCH #2: “The Hustler” Rip Rogers vs “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff This match starts with both men already in the ring. Hustler, dressed all in pink, gives a few flexes to try and intimidate Paul Orndorff … good luck with that. Orndorff, in a red robe with “Mr. Wonderful” sparkling across the back, seems to have to the support of the fans as we get going. As Orndorff folds his robe, The Hustler attacks. Dutch seems to like this move but Caudle wonders if it was a mistake to make Orndorff angry. Anyway, Orndorff is taking a pretty good beating here in the first minute but that doesn’t last long. Soon, Orndorff is whipping Rogers all around the ring and out on the floor. The fans are loving all of Orndorff’s questionable tactics as they feel what is good for the goose is good for the gander. Well, give Rip some credit as an eye rake gives him back the momentum and he is now all over Mr. Wonderful and this includes a pretty good beating back out on the floor. It seems that Rip is going to get the big win as he locks in the sleeper and the ref has already raised and dropped the arm twice … but on the third drop Orndorff shows some life … he starts running in circles and falls to the ground as The Hustler smashes his own head into the turnbuckle! The two go toe to toe for another minute and it looks like Orndorff is going for the piledriver but something clicked in, reminding him that it was illegal here in SMW so he climbs to the top rope and comes flying off with an elbow drop for the win… Great match for TV as both Thatcher and Dutch were impressed! Commercial Break Stunning Steve is with Les Thatcher and just like all the other babyfaces, he is hyping up the idea of how great a history the Knoxville area has in professional wrestling along with saying there is nothing like seeing professional wrestling in person so when Smoky Mountain Wrestling comes to a town near you, make sure you’re there. He also hypes up the upcoming Smoky Mountain tournament and the fact that he isn’t about to back down from any man and it doesn’t matter if it’s “The Russian Bear, Boris Zhukov or Dirty Dutch Mantel … especially Dirty Dutch! Les Thatcher: “Speaking of Dirty Dutch… his match is coming up next, how about you, stay with me and give your opinions of his match just like he did with your match last week. Match #3: Scott Armstrong vs “Dirty” Dutch Mantell With Scott already in the ring, Dutch comes out to the entrance song, “Rawhide” while wearing his black cowboy hat, poncho and of course, carrying Soo Baby! Scott takes control early with a nice series of technical moves including the hammer locks, arm drag takedowns and side headlocks. Stunning Steve is wondering where all the moves Dutch told him about last week were as Scott is in total control. Finally, we get a hair pull by Dutch and Scott is tossed to the ground. All this seems to do in anger Scott who quickly regains control. Stunning Steve is loving it. A rake of the eyes and a rake of the back gives Dutch the time he needs to recover and now he is connecting with more questionable tactics. Stunning Steve is getting angrier and angrier with each rule break. Even when Dutch uses a wrestling move like an abdominal stretch, he uses the ropes for extra leverage. Dutch’s heel tactics are not only for Armstrong as he berates both the ref and the fans. Stunning Steve wonders where that focus is he talked about last week. Well, this lack of focus cost him as Scott caught Dutch with a drop kick and now it was his turn to fight fire with fire. Stunning Steve was vocally rooting for Scott! As Scott was moved out of the corner by the reg, Dutch grabbed the bullwhip and nailed Scott in the throat with the handles of the whip. The ref immediately calls for the bell and awards the match to Scott but Dutch doesn’t care. He is now like a Wildman; all over Armstrong with a violent attack. The whip cracks 3 times across the back of Scott Armstrong and he is writhing in pain… Here comes the 4th whip … No… It’s Stunning Steve hitting the ring with a long cane to make the save. Dirty Dutch escapes the ring and grabs the mic! Dutch: This whip will stop a 2,000 pound bull right in its tracks. You stick your nose in my business and I’ll whip 75 pounds right off ya! Commercial Break Smoky Mountain Commissioner Bob Armstrong is with Les Thatcher and he is out here to Bob Armstrong: Yes… Dutch Mantel can bring that bullwhip with him to the ring as it is part of his attire but in no way does that give him the right to use it in a match. This is a sport and we have rules. Dutch Mantel … I’m fining you $500! Also… speaking of you Dutch … you seem to have a problem with Stunning Steve Austin. Well in Smoky Mountain we have a way to solve those types of problems…. Next week… right here on TV… it’ll be Dirty Dutch Mantell vs Stunning Steve Austin! Before our main event, we see a replay from last week and the bout between “Southern Boy, Steve Armstrong and the Russian Bear Ivan Koloff that saw Tracy Smothers tell the ref of Ron Wright’s interference. This led to the ref reversing his decision and some in-ring chaos as Tracy Smothers and Boris Zhukov got involved and Smothers being hanged over the top rope with the Russian Chain until Steve Armstrong made the save! Even though it was obvious that Ron Wright had handed something to Ivan Koloff, he maintained his innocence and asked for time on today’s show to explain what really happened. Ron Wright: Let me tell you something Wild-eyed Southern Boys … I don’t know what ya’ll upset about. You’re accusing Ron Wright of going down there and giving Ivan Koloff something. Ron Wright is a crippled man… I’m in a wheelchair. All I’m doing is coming round here looking at the talent Smoky Mountain Wrestling has and oh boy … they got a lot of it. I just hoping to sign some of that talent and earn some money so I can get some of the monies I need to get up out of this wheelchair. And another thing… everyone is this area knows that Ron Wright aint never hurt a hair on any of my opponents in my life. I have too much respect for this great sport. So if you see me at any of the matches, remember two things… I’m looking for a man or two to manage and if you have any money to spare to help a cripple out, I’d really look favorable on ya’ll. Les Thatcher doesn’t seem to buy a word of this. As Ron Wright rolls off, he can be reminding everyone that he is looking for Christian rasslers like himself. Commercial Break Main Event: “The Wild-eyed Southern Boys (Steve Armstrong & Tracy Smothers vs “The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff & Boris Zhukov With the Russians already in the ring, the Southern Boys rush the in and attack before the bell…. the fans with the normal double standard here, cheer on the dirty tactics. The brawl is on and goes back and forth for a long period of time. At about the 8-minute mark, Tracy Smothers, who had been taking the brunt of the attack, finally was able to roll under Ivan Koloff and make the hot tag to Armstrong and he comes in like a house a fire! Drop kick on Ivan. Bodyslam on Boris. Body slam on Ivan. Stiff right hand on Boris. Amrstrong, gets Ivan in a headlock. Boris closes in only to find himself in a headscissors. Armstrong flips them both over and the Russians are wobbly. We now go Bonzo Gonzo as all 4 men are in the ring. Somehow, Ivan knocks Smothers through the middle ropes. The Russians are now double teaming Armstrong. WHAM… Tracy Smothers with a flying cross body block off the top rope on Boris. The cover… 1…2…3! Les Thatcher is hyping up the big win as the Russians are complaining that neither Smothers or Zhukov were the legal men in the ring. Les Thatcher: Thanks for joining us tonight on Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Wrestling the way it used to be and wrestling the way you like it. Make sure you join us next week right here on this station where you’ll see Stunning Steve Austin vs “Dirty” Dutch Mantell.
  2. Ask and you shall receive... using a number generator that order for the 1992 Rookie Draft is as follows: 1. AWA (traded to WCW) 2. Smoky Mountain 3. WCW 4. WWF (traded to PCW) 5. PCW 6. West Virginia -This draft will take place the first weekend in November. -It will be a snake draft -Any writers who join will be added to the end of the drat list as long as they are not on probation. -Draft picks can be traded starting now.
  3. Pretty realistic house shows where the champ owns the main event against some decent names but people you know won't be the WWF champ.
  4. Wow... what a two night event we are going o get in Vegas! That card has something for everyone and much, much more!
  5. Wow... I really enjoyed ctching up on WCW. The Clash was awesome! With all the chaos of Ventura making the controversial ruling in the Henig/Steamboat battle and the Road Warriors accepting the open challenge to face Doom we almost forget the title change with the Rock n Roll Express going over the Freebirds. Love the back and forth between Paul E. and Ventura and then we get the Steiners... WOW... WCW is hot!
  6. Love all the hype for the next round of the AWA Tournament. What is going on behind that door with Makhan SIngh? Really interesting.
  7. Like the Nightmares here. As Kimberly said, they really are a staple of Southern Wrestling and will give any team here a run for their money!
  8. Sorry for falling behind but I am really enjoying how you are running WWF. We get house shows, huge prime time events and even somebehind the scenes info of who is coming and going. I can't wait for SNME!! Also, enjoying all the chaos! The Z-Man turning heel... the Warlord a babyface.... Flair-Jake-Andrea-Tito ... Wow... also what is going on with the Ultimate Warriors. I agree with Lord Alfred.... unsettling! Also.... Kudos on the Ric Flair promos and the Poffo poems. Really good. Thanks for all the hard work you've put in. Also... how do you do the magazine covers. It was cool. You and Laststop have so much more technology skills then me. I'm so happy I did not do WWF as you are so much more equipped then me! Great start
  9. Episode #1 April 4, 1991 Knoxville Civic Auditorium Studio (Holds about 500) WBIR-TV (channel 10) Opening: Some techno music is playing with a background picture of the mountains while some videos of wrestlers in action are cutting into the frame. The screen opens to Les Thatcher standing with Dutch Mantel. Thatcher is in a very colorful Hawaiian shirt while Dutch is in a black cowboy hat, sunglasses, a colorful poncho and has Ol Betsy wrapped up under his arm. Les: Welcome wrestling fans, from the Knoxville Civic Auditorium Studio, welcome to the return of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. I guarantee you this will be an action-packed hour of professional wrestling, the way wrestling used to be and just the way to like. I’m Les Thatcher and on this week’s show you’re going to be seeing “White Lightening” Tim Horner. Jeff Jarrett will be here as will be “Stunning” Steve Austin. The mysterious Killer Kyle will be in action as will be Irwin R. Schyster. We will also be talking to a pretty infamous man in Knoxville wrestling history who has signed on to be a manager here in Smoky Mountain Wrestling… the original bad boy in Knoxville, Ron Wright. We will also be talking to Smoky Mountain Wrestling Commissioner Bob Armstrong! All of that plus our big main event… one half of the Wild-eyed Southern Boys, Steve Armstrong vs “The Big Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff! And to help me call all the action, here’s none other than “Dirty” Dutch Mantell. The crowd starts with a loud chorus of boos! Dutch: Now hold on just a minute… (the boos get louder) I mean have you ever … people you are in the presence of wrestling greatness and this is how you act? … whatever… I’m not here for you people. I’m here to see Ivan Koloff lock horns with Steve Armstrong! I’m also interested in this guy they call “Stunning” Steve Austin. I’ve heard such great things about him and today I’m going to get my first look at him. I hope he can live up to the hype. Les: Fans, it’s going to be a great hour so stay with us. We’re about ready for action so let’s go to the ring. Match #1: Killer Kyle vs “White Lightening” Tim Horner Killer Kyle comes to the ring wearing a suit, tie and large black hat. He is carrying a mysterious black case. He is announced as “weighing in at 280 pounds and hailing from Hell’s Kitchen, NY. His slow walk and shady appearance has people wondering what he’s all about. Bob Caudle doesn’t help with the mystery as he says he has heard that Killer Kyle has been rumored to be a member of one of those large organized crime families up there in NY but he has not been able to confirm this. Tim Horner comes jogging out, high-fiving all the fans on his way to the ring while George Jones, “White Lightening” plays in the background. As for the match, the first thing you notice is that Killer Kyle is a pretty good combination of speed and power as he hits the ropes well and nails Horner with a couple of big shoulder blocks. Horner, hops up quickly each time and hits a few hip tosses as effective counters but Killer Kyle is just too big and takes control of the match. Bodyslams, bodyblocks, and big forearms by Kyle have Horner in trouble. Horner, being a good babyface is bumping and selling all over the place until the finish…. Killer Kyle whips Horner hard to the corner and rushes in behind for a big squash but Horner jumps up and Kyle hits the ring post. Horner uses the middle rope to help him with a sunset flip and rolls up Killer Kyle for the first win in Smoky Mountain Wrestling history! BE THERE!! Promo by Steve Armstrong on his main event match with Ivan Koloff “Ivan Koloff… The Russian Bear… we have a few battles all over this country and I can’t wait for tonight. I’m honored to be in the first main event in Smoky Mountain history and I don’t care how rough and tough you are. I’m ready to fight fire with fire. I’m ready to take everything you got and then some as I plan on coming out on top and giving these fans what they deserve and that’s see you, the Russian Bear, go down in defeat.” Next, we see Les Thatcher talk about his recent interview with Bob Armstrong by hyping up what a great commissioner he is going to be while Dirty Dutch looks at Thatcher like he is out of his mind. VTR Interview: Thatcher: And here is wrestling legend, “Bullet” Bob Armstrong, the new commissioner of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Bob, what can we expect from you as commissioner.” Bob Armstrong: Well Bob, I’ve had over 30 years of experience and I’ve had every trick in the book played on me and I believe that I have met each of those situations in an honorable way… in a way that myself and my family could be proud of. I will admit that our sport seems to have fallen off the rails in the last few years and as commissioner, it is my job to get it back on the right track. So Smoky Mountain Wrestling will be wrestling the way it used to be and the way we like it to be. I will make it affordable for the entire family to enjoy. We want to grow this thing from the ground up and that starts with the fans. This is the oldest sport known to man and it is going to be treated as a sport. Fines, heavy in nature, will be levied for any infractions of the rules. If you toss your opponent over the top rope, you will be disqualified. This is wrestling and should be competed in the ring! There will be no foreign objects… you will not touch a referee. We want this to be a community project. If you, the fans want something, send us your cards and letters. Smoky Mountain Wrestling will be the best wrestling program the people of this area have ever seen. Match # 2: “Gentlemen” Ken Timbs vs “Double J” Jeff Jarrett Timbs comes strutting to the ring first. His attire is rather strange as he has a ruffled, fancy white shirt with a gold a black blazer over it while wearing tie-dye spandex pants. He is making his way to the ring waving an elegant cane in the air. Timbs grabs the microphone, “I just want to let all you good people know that I am here as an ambassador of good will…and please understand that what I am telling you is only meant to help you. Look at me …. Gentlemen Ken Timbs and unlike all of you, I come from a good upbringing. I am educated… I am wealthy … I am clean… I understand you people can’t help it… trailer park living and all …but …. at least speak English and not Hillbilly! I mean is there any difference between a diploma from the University of Tennessee right here in Knoxville and a roll of toilet paper… well other than the cost …. not really. Upset, the ring announcer rips back the house microphone and announces, “right here from the great state of Tennessee, Double J, Jeff Jarrett rushes to the ring with the entrance song “Rocky Top” playing in the background. He is fuming at Ken Timbs and gets right in his face. The ref separates them and calls for the bell. Timbs, with a knee to the gut, takes the early advantage but Jarrett makes the comeback and he is on fire getting the win with a top rope missile drop kick! Commercial Break Match #3: Stunning Steve Austin vs “Bad Boy” Billy Black Billy Black does a good job of getting some heat as he comes out wearing a black jacket over a black singlet with a black hat antagonizing the fans every step of the way. This was made to help get Stunning Steve over to this new audience. Stunning Steve, running out to “Born to be Wild, hops up on the apron, right to the top rope and leaps off. He is fired up and ready to go but makes the mistake of turning his back on Billie Black who attacks before the bell. This early questionable tactic plays into the idea to get Austin over and the fans completely buy into his comeback. The end comes rather quickly with the Stun Gun on Black! During the match, Dutch Mantel makes sure the fans know that he wasn’t really impressed with Austin and points out that Austin is lucky that it was Billie Black in there and not him as he never would have given the momentum back after the awful start by Austin. Thatcher reminds Dirty Dutch that it was Billie Black that attacked before the bell and Dutch is quick to point out that it was Austin who was unprepared and allowed it to happen. Next, we go to a VTR of one of the managers in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, Ron Wright. Ron Wright doesn’t appear as violent as some of the old-time wrestling fans in Knoxville remember him to be as he is in a wheelchair and appears pretty old. “It certainly is nice to be here in Smoky Mountain Wrestling as things have not been going so well for me of late. As you know, I’ve gone out of my way for decades in the wrestling business to stop all those non-Christian wrestlers who did their best to hurt the sport of professional rassling. Now I’m stuck in this wheelchair until I get a hip implant and a knee implant but the only problem is I can’t afford it right now. Well, I’ve come down here today as a manager and I’m a scouting all these great Smoky Mountain raslers hoping to sign one or two so I can make some money and get back on my feet. I know, with all my expertise, I can help these great fellas get over the top … but again … I want only good Christian wrestlers. Before we go to break, Dirty Dutch puts over the idea the Ron Wright is such a high quality human being … the kind they don’t make anymore! Les Thatcher isn’t buying any of it. Commercial Break Match #4: “Irwin R. Schyster vs Joey Maggs IRS comes to the ring wearing a white shirt, red tie, red suspenders and dress pants. He rips the mic from the ring announcer and rips into the fans. “I have never been to such a dismal place in all my life. The poverty here is just sickening and all I hear around here is the government has to do something with it. Well, guess what people… your situation is all your fault. If you people would stop making your moonshine it would do two things. First of all, you people would stop showing up to work drunk and getting fired and also, you people would stop cheating on your taxes as your money would be earned in a legit way. I’m Irwin R. Schyster, I.R.S for short, and I am going to collect on your debts one wrestler at a time. The pain Joey Maggs is about to feel is your fault. Time to pay the taxman!! I.R.S beats Joey Maggs from pillar to post. He hits him with elbow drops, right hands, kicks, leg drops and most of all… straight right hands. The end mercifully comes with the Samoan Drop. Bob Caudle really is disgusted by I.R.S while Dutch wonders why we haven’t had someone like I.R.S. here a long time ago to stop all the Knoxville degenerates from cheating their way through life! Next, Les Thatcher interviews Stunning Steve Austin… Les: Steve…. Welcome to Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Steve Austin: Thanks Bob… I just want to say thanks to all these fans for welcoming me in tonight. I also want to let everyone know that in just a few weeks, there’s going to be a tournament to crown the first ever Smoky Mountain Champion and I would love your support as I would love to wear the gold! Suddenly Dirty Dutch comes on the screen and interrupts the interview… Dutch: Excuse just one minute. I know it’s not my time but I just want to give you some helpful advice as you go for that title you talked about. First of all, you made some pretty big mistakes tonight against Billie Black. I mean you let him get that jump on ya and then he nailed you with a pretty big clothesline. That would never have happened to me. I make sure I’m prepared for everything. Again, just a little friendly advice… you were not prepared tonight. Then we you luckily got the advantage back… you still used that armbar incorrectly. Come to think of it… I would have done everything different then you did. I mean I understand your still young but if you don’t want to flounder around the bottom here in Smoky Mountain, I think you better listen to me. Steve: You’re right Dutch... you would have wrestled that match completely differently…. You would have lost! Now I heard you were pretty good in your day but this is my time and you’re not ready for Stunning Steve Austin. As Steve walks off, Dutch says to Les, “that just goes to show you, today’s youngsters can’t take constructive criticism. Commercial Break Main Event: “The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff vs “Wild-eyed Southern Boy” Steve Armstrong With the Russian Bear already waiting in the ring, “The South’s Gonna to It Again” starts to blare from the speakers as Steve Armstrong comes jogging out in his grey Confederate hat and jacket, wearing grey tights and carrying the Confederate flag, giving some love to all the fans. The match starts out with a little chain wrestling in-screen picture in picture pops up of Ivan Koloff… Ivan Koloff: Ivan Koloff is very happy to be here in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Unfortunately, Steve Arnstrong… you are not going to be happy today. You made the mistake of getting in the ring with The Russian Bear. Today… I’m going to embarrass you… humiliate you… show you how inferior American wrestlers are to Russian wrestlers. I will make you suffer today! As the match continues, we see a few momentum changes but Dutch Mantel can’t seem to focus on anything except the “brazen” Steve Austin. Dutch lets everyone know that he is going to wrestle next week on Smoky Mountain Wrestling and he hopes Steve Austin is watching so he sees what a real wrestler looks like. Thatcher seems to try to refocus Dutch as he brings up the fact the Ivan Koloff is a former WWF champion as he beat the legendary Bruno Sammartino. Thatcher also lets us know that Ivan has come to Tennessee with his cousin Boris Zhukov who is a multiple time champion in his own right. Next, we see “the original bad boy” Ron Wright roll out to ringside and Dutch now seems happy as Mr. Wright is certain to bring some class to the show. Dutch reminds us all of Ron Wright’s current health and money situation and how he hopes Mr. Wright finds what he is looking for to help out during his hard times. Dutch reminds us all that he, just like Ron, are both sympathetic by nature and hope the other people here in Knoxville lend a helping hand to Ron to help with his surgeries. As the action spilled outside, we find out that this is where Koloff excels. He shoves Armstrong into the ring post and then nails him with a chair! When the action heads back onto the ring. Steve once again regains the momentum and hits the Russian Bear with a few big forearm smashes. Koloff is left draped over the bottom rope as the ref pushes the Southern Boy back. We now see Ron Wright roll over to Koloff and shake his hand! WHAM… Koloff catches Armstrong with a big right hand and Keirn is down and out!!! 1…2…3! Here comes Tracy Smothers, the other Wild-eyed Southern Boy, rushing into the ring and is claiming that Ron Wright gave Koloff some sort of foreign object! The ref believes Tracy and reverses the decision. Koloff, Ron Wright and even Dirty Dutch are fuming at Smothers’ dishonesty. Koloff comes towards Smothers but Smothers attacks first and he has Ivan reeling. Suddenly another wrestler in a red singlet with the hammer and sickle engraved across it rushes in and attacks Tracy Smothers … Les Thatcher informs us “that’s Boris Zhukov.” The situation turns scary as Ivan and Boris hang Tracy Smothers over the top rope with that big Russian chain. They appear to be trying to strangle him! Rushing over to is Steve Armstrong. He is like a wild animal seeing what the Russians are doing to his tag team partner. Armstrong single-handedly clears the ring as Jeff Jarrett and Steve Austin rush down for extra help as the Russians hightail it to the back. The fans are eating all of this up! The show ends with Commissioner Bob Armstrong coming out with rules in hand. He fines Ivan Koloff $500 for using a foreign object and also announces that next week it will be the Ivan Koloff and Boris Zhukov vs The Wild-eyed Southern Boys in the main event! Les Thatcher: Thanks for joining us tonight on Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Wrestling the way it used to be and wrestling the way you like it. Make sure you join us next week right here on this station. So long from Knoxville.
  10. PIP in some trouble! Just like most heel stables... they are entertaining when things are going well and really, really entertaining when things are going badly!
  11. Really enjoying the tournament to crown a new champ. I think the Hogan contract saga, when it is all said and done, will have a huge impact on who is the next AWA champ!
  12. And a new era in WWF has begun. Nice work getting us all set up on your take on the roster and everything else going on in the WWF. Enjoy reading thr house show format as itis very realistic. Looking forwad to what you do with Ric Flai.
  13. Some really fun shows over the last fee weeks. The cracks in the foundation for PIP make me excited for what is next. Awesome job writing the battle royal. I find them hard to do.
  14. Wrestlemania was awesome and you put in some serious work and i thank you for that. More importantly, we are losing someone who has meant so much to this project. know that i will always support what you do and that you will always be welcome here. It is funny, but we have never met but i feel like we are all losing a close friend. it is strange what this game and hobby does for me. Thanks for always being there! Good luck

  19. Eddie Guerrero and Rick Martel would be a fun match... wish they were both in their prime sometime in history as these two were awesome and both were two of my favorites. Bigelow vs Dean Malenko... what a contrast in styles... again really liked both of these guys. Nice balance to your shows!
  20. Everything is moving nicely towards Wrestlemania! Funk attacking Tito at SNME with the branding iron is sure-fire heat!! This one is going to be fun. These were always two of my favorites! Nasty Boys vs Fantastics... tough choice... the old toy vs the new toy... can't go wrong with either one. Snake vs Warrior!!! I know who I'm rooting for. The brain vs the braun... another 50-50 match that is going to be real exciting. Great work as always.
  21. Great job with WarGames. I enjoyed the creativity of the early matches. While they weren't such big names, you had built it up nicely. All the matches towards the end of the night really delivered and gave us a look at the future of WCW. Rude and Nikita might need another go round, awesome match with Steamboat and Hennig and what a tag match with Demolition and Doom! Doom is now the gold standard in WCW tag team wrestling... who can be next to challenge them. Love the chaos of WarGames! What a monster SId is! I do have a question on the rules of WarGames as I am not familiar with it... at the end you said Sting, Davey Boy and Avil won. Didn't Owen also win?
  22. Again, so well done. While we always get a cartoon type match to entertain us, it is Pretty n Pink, namely Tasha that steels the show. Can't wait to see what happens at the Armory.
  23. What an angle!!!! Love it. Morrow and his money have the nerve to come back to the AWA and then all Hell breaks loose. That was truly a great read! Also, can't wait for the AWA Title Tourny! Wildfire is back!!!
  24. FEB 26-MARCH 2, 1991 USWA WRESTLING NEWS This week we are informed on both USWA Dallas and USWA Memphis that USWA Wrestling will be entering a new era in television next week with a 2-hour program known as TNT will be airing in all USWA markets. TNT stands for Texas n Tennessee where the best in USWA Wrestling takes place each and every week. We are informed that the show will alternate weeks with one week coming from Texas and the next coming from Tennessee. Next week’s huge inaugural show will take place in the Sportatorium in downtown Dallas, Texas. On that show we will see the USWA World Tag Team Champions, Soul-les (Vader & Cactus Jack) and Kevin Sullivan take on the Steiner Brothers and a mystery partner, Jerry “The King” Lawler take on “Wild” Bill Irwin for the USWA Texas Heavyweight Title and Randy “Macho Man” Savage with Miss. Elizabeth will defend the USWA World Title against Michael Wallstreet and Miss Alexandria York! These great matches and so, so much more on the first every episode as USWA Wrestling presents TNT…. BANG!!! On both shows we get some fiery promos!! Soul-less: Kevin Sullivan: “It’s a funny thing… for the first time in my life… I feel something. I’ve never felt sad for all those wrestlers I left laying there in pile of their own blood. I’ve never felt angry at all those wrestlers who tried to cheat me out of what I deserved… I never felt anything for the mother’s whose sons ended their careers… Nothing… that is until now… and that feeling is … one of satisfaction as I know myself, along with Vader and Cactus Jack are about to end the careers … if you can call it that of the Steiner Brothers.” Cactus Jack: Somewhere deep in my demented mind… I have a soft spot not for the Steiners but a soft spot for all that I have accomplished… a soft spot for all the people I’ve hurt… A soft spot for how I will be remembered in wrestling history… a soft spot for my ability to block and pain …and a soft spot for what I will do to you two next week on a show that seems to be made for me…TNT…. BANG BANG!! Vader: Rick… Scott… I just want to remind you what you’ve done. Because you two have felt the Wrath of Vader … Cactus Jack … and our leader… Kevin Sullivan… you two should be ashamed of yourselves. Instead of just putting your tail between your legs and high tailing it out of the USWA, you are set to bring in another man… a mystery man… to suffer at the hands of Soul-less! You two and you two alone are responsible for what we are about to do to your mystery partner!” Rick Steiner: “Soul-less…. Scott and myself know that we are the two best wrestlers in the U.S. today … it doesn’t matter if it’s singles or tag team… we will take on anyone and we feel confident about the outcome. The problem is Soul-less, its never one against one, or two against two. They always need to outnumber you or bring weapons into the match… well not this time… the man we got coming next week is going to fight, yes fight, like a wild animal!” Scott Steiner: “Kevin Sullivan… oh Kevin Sullivan… you don’t know what your ready for. You talk about doing that needs to be done to get the job done. You take about biting your opponents, you talk about stomping them, you talk about hitting them with chairs, you talk about your Golden Spike… well let met tell you this… you better be ready for a rabies shot after next week because you are about to have a fight with a back of wolves!! “Wild” Bill Irwin: The King of Memphis is coming to Texas for my title. What a joke! The King of Memphis is like the Princess of Dallas. People growing up in Tennessee grow up drunk because they can’t stomach to look at each other. Were Texas Tough here and your Tennessee soft Lawler. Come down to Texas if you dare and we’ll teach you some Southern Justice.” Jerry Lawler: Wild Bill… I heard your comments about the King of Memphis would be like the Princess of Texas. I thought that was pretty good from a state where education is still optional. You know what the average Texas student gets on his SAT’s… Drool! Wild Bill…you talk about Southern Justice… there’s any justice is Texas. I mean the only thing going up in Dallas is the unsolved murder rate… that might be because everyone has the same DNA in Dallas… can you say inbreeds! Jokes aside… I’m really excited about how the USWA is expanding and the first episode of TNT is going to be great! …The match is between me and you Bill ….and just letting you know… the King is about to increase his empire. Michael Wallstreet: (Holding the computer printout of the scouting report on Macho Man Randy Savage) “It is now apparent that money can buy everything… My wealth and Miss. Yorks computer skills have come up with a fool prove plan to beat you next week on TNT! Randy “Macho Man” Savage: Oh yeah… this is from the Macho Man and its to you Michael Wallstreet and the York Foundation. Your money cannd buy all these computers… your money can hire that secretary of yours to do all your scouting for you….oh yeah… that money of yours can buy you the best workout equipment… the best sparring partners and even a USWA World Title shot oh yeah…. But I know people like you and in your simple minds, you never have enough money… so I’m going to give you a dime… oh nooo, I got a better idea… I’m going to flatten you into a dime so you can stick yourself in a phone booth and call someone to take you to the doctor… oh yeah…. Call a friend cause the Macho Man just stole your chance!
  25. USWA also adds Honky Tonk Man to the list
