WWE TV 01/28 - 02/03 Brazil is covered in mud and blood
KawadaSmile replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Steph being in Ronda's corner, trying to get Becky DQ'ed or cost her the match, only for her to cost Ronda the match and the title would be great. Plus it would be a good way to write Rousey out of TV programming. -
We got some names for the HOF 2019 class and it's going to be some great stuff.

Wouldn't this undermine the presence of teams like The Bar, Usos and New Day, though? They are all presented like huge deals. People like to mention how the Revival were "misused", but it's more about bad timing than anything. Both got injured at different times and they just didn't click with the main roster. It's similar to American Alpha who despite getting the title early into their main roster run, had low crowd support, which then led to people cheering for ORTON AND BRAY over them.

Hey can you imagine if Truth got the US Title as compensation? Nia has the Midas Shove! -

Kento vs Tana and Sekimoto vs Tana are two legit dream matches for me. Of fucking course I am tuning in for that. -

I'm with you on this one. Babyface Miz usually gets a bad rep, but he was aces in this angle, and he never once stopped being that self-absorbed dude we grew to love. It gave us a legit feel good moment, with a father saying he loved and was proud of his son, while Shane hyped it up. Seriously, it was well executed. Sheamus and Cesaro don't really lose face, as they are two of the absolute best workers in the company, and Miz and Shane had such great motivations going into the match. Bonus points for actually addressing the (maybe) real life drama of Vince not really loving Shane as his son, instead considering Hunter as his one true heir. -
"Minimal effort" as in the most basic wrestling move can create a good story, instead of doing needless flips and headdrops - but I get what you are saying. I just feel that chops are impossible to look good and not hurt. After all, it is a slap to the chest, and even if the one throwing it doesn't have baseball bat arms like Kobashi, any contact strong enough to generate that remarkable echoing sound is going to hurt. There just isn't a way to work around it like they do with punches or kicks, it seems - and dropping it entirely wouldn't work.

I dunno, El-P. Chop sequences nowadays are overdone, yes, but WALTER is such an absurdly strong chopper that if paired against someone like Ilja Dragunov, it can generate an incredible dramatic effect with minimal effort. WALTER is dangerous enough that his chop, a basic wrestling strike, is lethal. You put over the monster as someone who can beat you down with the simples of moves, and the babyface comeback is also put over nicely because the monster heel is that big of a badass. Besides, like it was said - it's ONE chop. Not many can do that, and I'm not even sure if that is just about hitting as hard as you can.

He seems to have a better gimmick than what Mojo initially had, so even if he doesn't move up the card, in the hypothetical situation he goes to the main roster, he's capable of having a bigger shelf life IMO. Metal musclehead who air guitars his way to the ring and does Rick Rude-esque posedowns/arm wrestling matches within matches is some fun stuff.

Read some of yesterday's taping spoilers and I am very interested in this Bugenhagen fellow. If he doesn't suck in the ring he can be a big deal.

It's such, such a shame that Joe threw his physical integrity away by doing that dumb stairway dropkick spot, because holy shit, he's the best talker in the company by a mile. -

But that's the thing: it's not that Roode was dragging him down. Itami was OUTPERFORMED by Roode. He was looking very, very bad, and it's not because of his opponent. Sometimes things just don't work She's the "cool girl". When she wasn't getting pushed, people were behind her because well, she wasn't getting pushed as much as she could've been, and she was usually treated as an afterthought. When she was champion for the first time, it was almost like she was just a stepping stone for Bliss. This is the first time they've went 100% with her, and after years of getting behind her without much reward, the fact that they are really doing it feels cathartic. Plus her story of nearly quitting wrestling is very good. -

It's not just that he had bad luck with injuries. He just didn't show up in the ring when the spotlight was on him. NXT Title match against Roode: flopped. Looked lethargic and missed some of his signature spots. Tag Team match on Raw with Finn Balor, which was made a big deal: flopped. Looked sloppy more than once. He just was a flop. Be it due to injuries, be it through bad showings in the ring and looking sawft, his run was bad. Both did the right thing now. It was clearly not working. -

Now that you mentioned it, Joe vs Lesnar vs Roman vs Strowman seemed to do pretty well, at least it was very well received in terms of star ratings and the such. -

In a drawing sense, can't really think on many Triple Threats or even Fatal Four Ways who were huge draws. Some are huge in terms of being really pimped up, like the one I mentioned and AJ/Joe/Daniels, but in terms of drawing power itself, I think it doesn't hold up as much. -
