  1. Oh the idea of Jesse having in sort of legit involvement with WWE in 2017 would be amazing especially since he is completely bat-shit insane with the conspiracy stuff now.
  2. He wasn't that ripped in 95 when he first started.
  3. For sure, that's another thing, for most of the celeb candidates, we must keep in mind that their involvement in WWE is a small part of their lives/careers. Might have just been a fun payday for some. Maybe Motorhead is a bit more mainstream in UK, maybe more of Europe, compared to the US. And despite the "hot UK crowds", most of WWE's business still comes from the States. WWE should probably demphasize the "headliner" part of the HoF ceremony. It's bad enough it always feels booked like a wrestling card rather than the results of a legit election like most real sports HoFs. They made a big mistake throwing Foley in there during the Bruno year, that's an easy headliner they used up. There was the year DiBiase "headlined" it, think a result of Warrior turning them down. Work more names like that to "close out" if you have to. (Edit: I have Celebrity Name Game on in the background, which is like Pyramid, and in the bonus round, Motorhead came up, and a middle aged woman immediately passed on it before giving clues to the celeb partners. Kinda works both ways, notable to be a answer on an American game show, but easily passed by the civilian contestant) Yeah they used DiBiase in 2010 when they were in Phoenix after Warrior turned them down. DiBiase is proably a big enough name to headline a WWE HOF to be honest. I agree about Foley. I can see why they inducted him the year they did because it was in the Garden and all but they had 3 headline guys that year with Bruno,Backlund and Foley so you cost yourselves 2 potential headliners in Backlund and Foley so they can go in at the Garden.
  4. So I finally started to listen to this. Started with the episode on Sunny since I knew it would provide some good stories. Since they were using her book for a lot of the information who knows if it is legit but the most mind boggling thing was her claiming to be a professional drug trafficker since she could smuggle pills over the boarder from Mexico. Good to know they filmed various vignettes at Vince's house back in the day as well as his story about how they signed Ron Simmons back in 1996.
  5. But it did happen last year.
  6. Id assume DDP. Highly unlikely this company makes Christian a HOF headliner given how they treated him as a performer for years.
  7. Well Lemmy did more for WWE than Snoop who what did some BS with the Divas in 2008 and guest hosted a RAW in 2009.
  8. Officially confirmed by the WWE. April 8th 2018 http://www.f4wonline.com/wwe-news/wwe-officially-confirms-new-orleans-wrestlemania-34-host-city-227976
  9. Link? They used to be on YouTube but I think the company had them removed when they plagued YouTube in 2012 and 2013 for content. Opie & Anthony played one of them once when they were taking the piss out of his radio show with Scott Shannon a few years back. Slammy song starts at 4:30 though you get to hear a great Facebook parody song by Todd at the start.
  10. Are you really using the whole "They aren't as big as The Rolling Stones" argument as to why they shouldn't put him in. Yep Motorhead was pretty well known in the 80s when the metal scene was thriving in the US. I would suspect they only do the "Orginal 3" and maybe Eric. I highly doubt they are going to induct all the B-List level guys. When they did the Horsemen they only did one lineup of guys Flair,Arn,Tully,Barry and JJ wasn't like Sid,Roma and guys like that got inducted.
  11. I could see Motorhead going in or even just Lemmy. They did enough musical contributions for the company and performed at couple Mania events. Probably one of the few celebrity inductions I would be okay with in general.
  12. Yeah that seems like total BS. Would they really consider using a developmental guy in 1999 for such a high profile angle.
  13. Almost as funny as seeing all the people lose their shit on Twitter over Dave's opinion. I unfollowed nearly all the wrestling based accounts I had been following on Twitter just after Christmas bar Meltzer and a couple of people who are involved in the business and automatically feel better for having done so. Wrestling twitter is such a weird place and I'm so glad I don't have to read the majority of that nonsense any more. On my old Twitter in 2011 and 2012 I followed a lot of wrestling accounts and my god some of the idiocy I read back then. There were a few people who had common sense and logic but the majority were some of the dumbest people.
  14. Disapointing but I am not surprised. Looking at where Mania has generally been held since 2008 they do seem to really favor certain states a lot over others. Also I wonder if this has something to do with how much money these states have offered to host the show and are the ones that are willing to offer the company more.
  15. So much emphasis was put into the title record that they're now completely directionless now that it's over, which doesn't help. They need to go heel or push Big E as a singles. Looks like the Mania title matches are Taker vs Cena and Braun vs Reigns, which means that they'll probably give Taker the Rumble win but it really should be Braun. We're now at the point where someone getting a strong push is refreshing to see, so I hope it continues. If Taker does win the Rumble t will come 10 years after he first won it. Yep we sure have made progress the last decade haven't we.
  16. 4 years does seem a little too short of a wait to return. Someone said they were disapointed that they were going back to Orlando again but least in that case its been 9 years (even if in my mind 2008 doesn't feel that long ago) probably makes it worse they have been to Florida every 4-5 years now with 24,28 and 33
  17. I have always liked Pritchard in interviews I have seen with him but never listened to his show. Does he just tell WWE version of history or is it more in-depth than just the crap WWE spews out.
  18. Ive always heard it was because she worked so stiff
  19. I don't think the casual fan would ever remember they did a 40 man Rumble off the top of their head like people here would.
  20. Bad times. Smackdown was pretty great in 2009 with Rey/Jericho and Punk/Hardy. Got pretty terrible when Taker came back though. Not to mention we got a bad Kane world title reign in this period as well. Summer 2009 for Smackdown is super fun, and then basically the moment 'Taker comes back everything gets flushed. They spent so much time building up Punk and Hardy, and then 'Taker comes back and its like, "Ha, sorry, these little men couldn't possibly beat the Dead Man, screw them." But from the moment they moved Jericho and Punk over until then, the wrestling is on par with the Smackdown 6 era. Agreed, SD had a big new stars feel at the time when they headlined one show with Punk & The Hart Dynasty vs Morrison & The Hardys. Punk/Morrison had an awesome series of TV matches while of course Punk/Hardy had the big feud, plus Rey had a handful of great matches with Morrison and Ziggler. You kind of forget that Morrison was actually pretty fun to watch in the right for a period. It did seem like at the time he was the going to be the one they pushed big time as opposed to The Miz. But the worst thing about the Taker return was his whole complaining about Punk and his lack of obeying the dress code which led to more or less a poor 12 months in terms of results for Punk. Sure he was still in great programs with Rey I just got so sick of seeing him lose on every PPV throughout 2010. I think I will add that May-August 2009 Smackdown period to my re-watch list on the Network.
  21. Didn't they do the minute intervals in 1995 and that match is just a tad over 30 minutes. Perhaps that was down more to the sheer lack of quality on the roster at that point. Yeah Del Rio won as part of his whole "Destiny" angle. The match wasn't that good though we did get the immortal "Im Marking Out" from Matt Striker.
  22. Feels like this could be quoted verbatim from about each of the past five Mania threads. To think they first teased this in 2009 when Shaq was still actually playing. Would people really care to see it in 2017.
  23. When you wear Christmas shirts in April then yeah that is pretty fucking weird. None the less I share your sentiments about the holiday season I think its a huge fucking waste of time.
  24. Yeah I gotta agree with this. His whole Christmas thing has really bugged me the last 3 years since it became really evident to me that he has some weird obsession with it. Honestly Foley since 2006 has been on my shit list. I also work in retail and late October through the end of the year is the worst time of the year bar none.
  25. Bad times. Smackdown was pretty great in 2009 with Rey/Jericho and Punk/Hardy. Got pretty terrible when Taker came back though. Not to mention we got a bad Kane world title reign in this period as well.
