  1. Yeah 2010 was pretty awful. I don't think it was as bad as 2009 that was just a dreadful year mainly only for RAW though. But 2011 I don't mind all that much. I don't know why wouldn't buy it. Miz made it known going all the way back to his MTV days on Real World that he is a huge wrestling fan and the WWE guys can ask for DVDs (and I guess probably now digital copies of stuff) in the Vault to watch on their own. I'd especially believe that he's watched old Bockwinkel promos because he has probably put more work into improving that aspect of his game than just about anyone else in WWE. Im not doubting he did any of that stuff. I can just never believe him when he says anything along these lines. Just comes off as phony and that he is reading a script that has been written for him. Maybe its just me.
  2. Him and Striker were the worst when it comes to trying too hard at a time when they were trying to over emphasize the "fans that are now Superstars" mindset. While they were legit fans, their style is of the trying too hard to sound like a smark. Striker marking out for Diesel at the Rumble is the "best" example of why fans (not homers per se) make bad broadcasters! Yeah 2010/2011 was pretty bad for that whole sort of thing.
  3. Moving on from Montreal I attempted to watch the Top 50 Superstars of All Time documentary aside from the poorly constructed list which I would assume has taken quite the licking on these forums many a time. I honestly though William Regal was great as one of the talking heads they interviewed the guy is always great in these DVDs and he pretty much makes the Top 50 Finishing Moves one toerable as well. Another thing I learned was The Miz was insufferable on this or at least he was in 2010. Seriously I couldn't take anything he said seriously at all. He says at one point he watches old Bockwinkel stuff and I just don't but that at all. Cena was also pretty good and came off as you would expect Cena to come off in such a manner.
  4. Seeing as its just about been 20 years I am not counting on that to happen anytime soon if ever.
  5. I feel like I've heard this argument a lot, and I don't really understand it. In what way would Raw be worse off, and less serving of its many masters, if it was booked as a traditional pro wrestling show? Wouldn't the show be much more appealing if it weren't built around feuding GMs, endless horrible comedy skits, impotent babyfaces, etc? If the current formula was working you could shrug and say it is what it is, but their ratings are hitting historic lows every week. If the pressure is on them to grow and deliver bottom lines, they're failing awfully. The Network is nowhere near the numbers they promised their investors, and they may never be. They also failed to deliver a big new TV deal, and I wonder, given the ratings trend, what their next contract with USA is going to look like. I had the same question when Vince was on the Austin podcast, and he explained that they simply need a massive team of writers, because the business has changed. But why? Who changed it? Has it changed for the better? If the many new masters they now serve includes stuff like, "We must let Stephanie emasculate every wrestler in the company to establish to the world how powerful she is," that seems like a self-inflicted wound. They were claiming they could possibly hit like 4 million subs for the Network which is just nonsense given how poor the PPV business was for the 10 or so years before the Network hit. They had that BS survey where they claimed some crazy amount of people had an affinity for WWE. But yeah the next round of TV negotiations will be interesting given the really poor ratings they are delivering in the current one. Wonder if they will still play the "live sport" card again to try salvage some sort of increase if any will be pretty minimal.
  6. I would of loved to of heard mid-90s Vince try get over the Brawl for All.
  7. I wish they would make it easier to find individual matches. I mean yeah its easy enough to go to a PPV and use the marker points to find the match you want. But if I wanted to watch a random Shawn Michaels match I should be able to search his name and not need to sift through 100+ pages of marker points.
  8. I have listened to old Torch Talks and his old radio show from the early 90s and yes he is a very good interviewer. I generally don't listen to the Livecast since the callers are just outright bad and have put me off listening to the Livecast for years. With Dave he is a stronger interviewer when its someone he has known for decades like a Bruno or Cornette where it doesn't feel like he is interviewing the guy but just having a conversation with them that just happens to be recorded. The weakness of his interview skills outside of that was pretty evident on the old Observer Live show on eYada and Sports Byline when he hosted. Keller and his takes are probably only for people who only follow the US promotions like WWE,TNA or ROH and only have interest in that stuff. He probably realized that is were the biggest market was and thus why there is so much emphasis on that stuff on the Torch site.
  9. So I subbed to the Torch for a month in September first time I had subbed to it. I have heard bits and pieces of Torch Audio over the years and despite many of the criticisms people have with Wade Keller and the Torch in general I don't mind his product. Personally I have always prefered Meltzer and the Observer and just F4WOnline in general. But I do like listening to Keller's audio and generally like his take on things. Plus the Torch archive has a bunch of good Mitchell shows talking about historical topics and I like when Wade and Bruce review WWE DVD's (something I wish Dave and Bryan did more on F4W)
  10. Randy Orton 2010 onward. I really dug Orton when he was the Legend Killer into the Age of Orton through 2008. They really dropped the ball with him in 2009 after the whole McMahon feud in early 2009. Anyway ever since 2010 I haven't been able to stand the guy at all. Sure he has been in some good and great matches in the last 6 years but my god he is so boring and even when he tries to show some personality he just comes off as a huge try hard. Anyway my biggest gripe with Orton was the whole fact they never had him put over any upcoming talent in 2011 and 2012 I specifically remember one such instance being the Cody Rhodes feud in 2011 and numerous matches with the likes of Cesaro and the like in 2012.
  11. I used to think that, for sure. But if NXT is what Triple H's version of WWE would be like, then sign me up. I think a lot of people used to think like that about Triple H running the WWE. That it would be a company where he was still always on top and his buddies or chosen guys would get the big pushes. But the last 4 years with the expansion of NXT and what he has done with developmental have turned a lot of people who were against the whole HHH/Steph running things in a post-Vince world.
  12. Of course Waltman is going in. I mean its the WWE HOF just look at some of the people they have put in there who really aren't that deserving of it. Least Waltman was a decent mid-card act in WCW and WWF in the late 90s. As for Show it doesn't bother me that he will be in the HOF when he calls it a day. He has had his runs of success in both WCW and WWE.
  13. Going from the main event of the last two Manias to the geek battle royal. Yep this Reigns experiment has certainly worked well.
  14. 1 year until it just becomes what Veloticty was.
  15. Just re-subbed to the Network and just watching through random matches mainly with the collections they have added in 2016 though their "Greatest Matches Ever" collection is quite laughable. None the less as I type this watching Angle/Michaels from Vengeance 2005 quite a under looked match IMO.
  16. Seems he does this every few years. Remember when he came back in 2008 after a year off of the road and it was the slimmest he had been probably since his early days in WCW. Given life on the road I don't think it will be long until his weight will balloon again. Not saying that to be cruel or anything.
  17. Finally can relive that awful October 31st 2011 RAW once again.
  18. I hear about these surveys from time to time but have never received one. Wonder how large a sample they use. Are you on their mailing list. I haven't gotten anything about the Network for a year now since I unsubscribed from their mailing list.
  19. I expected him to be as terrible as ever, so I haven't bothered with any Meltz audio. Alvarez has been pretty intolerable since about 2011 for me. I actually don't mind him prior to the merger in 2008. His whole radio persona just comes off as way too phony.
