Maybe the biggest star in wrestling right now (in terms of connecting with live crowds) in modern wrestling. I think he is very fun tag worker and kind of hit or miss with singles especially with lack of blood/crowd brawling in Arena Mexico. The MJF match is AMAZING and is my the best match I have seen from both. The Sin Cara is has some fun stuff especially the Evan Bourne matches and knowing the had to wrestle in the dark, with his eyes covered, against non Spanish speakers mostly, and told despite being one of the biggest in wrestling that he was wrestling incorrectly. He is someone that I might consider in the 80s-100 part of my list but, can see going him going higher for others that connect with him more.

What are some of your favorite local legends/standouts? I was listening to a podcast and the person talking about Mentai Kid, bonus points if they are from your region or a region you feel is under discussed. I am tempted to try to find more space for those kind of wrestlers especially in the 90-100 section of my list. Wrestlers Jake De Leon, Jeremy Wyatt, The Statement Andruew Tang, and Aquiles o Matador. Two for might be Socal Crazy (wrestler I have seen live alot locally) and Johnny Goodtime/Kevin Martenson (1/2 of the Rockness Monsters).

The Young Bucks, Jimmy Valiant's work is fun but, the Young Bucks are my of my favorite tag team ever, maybe one of my favorite acts in wrestling history, and in some of my favorite matches of all time.

He's proabably making my list, not sure where but, he rules! A really cool and unique Toba perfomance, great match. Toba starts the match confused by someones weird costume, ends up being the overdog in an engaging way. The match looks like it took place in a gym locker room which rules.

He rules! Proabably not making my list though. Great live wrestler too, seeing him vs. Jeff Cobb was a highlight. I agree he doesn't really fully click or presents himself consistently until the Murderhawk character but he has some fun stuff before then. I think he has fun stuff (specifically the Abyss (Sacrafice match).

He's proabably not making my list (I see him very good - great but, not one of the greatest) but, I think his AEW stuff is great case helper. I have enjoyed AEW and TK ROH match enjoyed (basically everything almost ⭐️⭐️⭐️3/4+). It really says alot about his skills as a wrestler/perfomer that despite not being able to use on hard strikes, blood, big moves, having epics, and being treated like a very serious threat he's having engaging, fun perfomances.

The Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio vs. Hass and Benjamin at Vengeance 2003 for the WWE Tag Team Champions/Linear WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions is great!

Made a playlist about Dick Togo in the 2010s. It's interesting and cool to see him travel to so many places. I am not a regular NJPW watcher but, I think his bumping and selling in House of Torture build up tags are fun. Not sure if wrestler make my list but, I think hes a great wrestler to consider. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlM1-WJ2N9UcUCqGpepQUNwkdrlF0WUTj&si=PLxfaMHoZlarrpoM

Watched this a few days ago one of the best matches I have ever seen. Recently got into watching Rambo more (I only really knew him from an El Mathematico match), he's wrestles like and cartoonish bumping/selling has the e energy of one of the Home Alone robber villains. The way he bounces from an arm drag and him doing turn buckle teeter totter spots rule. I like how in trios matches, he gives off the vibes that he is hidding out a behind his partners and knowing when to pounce. Hoping to watch more but, he feels like he'll make my list.

One of my favorite things about GWE research so far is going to watch a match expecting to watch more of one and then unexpectedly, someone I was not considering shows out and inspires me to check out more of their work. The unexpected wrestlers are so fun to deep dive on I did not have many thoughts about Rambo and Mighty Inoue last week, but they gripped me so much with their perfomances that they feel will probably make my list too..

Really like Mighty Inoue vs. Pat O'Connor. Last night/this morning I watched a lot (10 matches) of Mighty Inoue. Mighty Inoue great wrestler. Very cool trunks! Very good matches. Interested in learning more about IWE and Mighty Inoue's career. Very good range, showed great spark. Very likely to make my 100. Alot of the matches are clipped and JIP 1/2/91 Jumbo Tsuruta & Mighty Inoue vs. Mitsuharu Misawa & Toshiaki Kawada 10/7/74 Billy Graham vs. Mighty Inoue 10/21/74 Mighty Inoue vs. Verne Gagne 4/11/78 Mighty Inoue vs. Gypsy Joe 9/26/73 Animal Hamaguchi vs. Mighty Inoue 1986 Mil Máscaras vs Mighty Inoue 9/12/84 Chavo Guerrero & Hector Guerrero vs. Gran Hamada & Mighty Inoue 2/26/84 Chavo Guerrero vs. Mighty Inoue 11/25/78 Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Mighty Inoue

Does anybody know if this match is on uploaded or any if the more color French Catch on water matches are available. I know that there is greyscale pool matches, theres more even going to this year. Its a really interesting tradition.

Abdullah The Butcher is an interesting case of wrestler. I really like his non-bloody match work. He plays a great overdog and has great presence and the type of wrestler who I want to him wrestle anybody. Alot of the bloody matches I have seen sometimes don't really connect with me even when he is facing wrestlers I enjoy/root for. He's really cool and great but, I'm not sure if he is top 100 level for me. Might the corner on him by the time I submit a ballot. Here's some of my Abdullah The Butcher stuff, I enjoy. Here's a promo I showed my mom, amazing promo.

Made an Aquiles playlist recently! Let me know if I missed any thing. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7K3Vop0Eb1Rvd5G6epz6mmSO48QY99GF

Thank you! Will check it out! I think my main disconnect it's in a selling and match structure style I'm not used too mixed with it being difficult to tell the wrestlers apart sometimes (the language and grayscale barrier)

Rene Ben Chemoul & Gilbert Cesca vs. Anton Tejero & Pancho Zapata is the best French Catch I have ever seen. Alot of French Catch doesnt click with me but, this one really did, interested in checking more from all involved. Tejero & Zapata feel like a French FTR, FrenchTR!

My take is 100 wrestlers is to small of an amount to have a list with wrestlers you don't like on a subjective level. I think there was a similar conversation in the Will Ospreay thread about someone not liking Hiroshi Hase. For example Atsushi Onita and Bret Hart are both objectively talented wrestlers and great in alot of areas but, they don't click with me (might change), so I won't vote for them. I already know pepole are going to vote for Atsushi Onita and Bret Hart too. If I vote for them that takes away a space from wrestlers I like alot more and might not recieve as many votes ex: Pat O’Conner and Sakura Hirota.

Which luchadores are you ranking (2026 edition)?
HeadCheese replied to cad's topic in Greatest Wrestler Ever
Luchadors currently on my list (in order) LA Park (my current #1 overall), Dr. Wagner Jr (#3 overall might go higher), Negro Casas, Rey Mysterio, and Rush Luchadors who very proabably make my list but, I am hoping to research more about before officially ranking them Blue Panther, Demus, El Hijo De Santo, Volador Jr, and Ultimo Guerrero Wrestlers I want to research and could maybe make my list Angel Azteca, Brazo De Plata/Super Porky, Black Terry, El Dandy, Marcela, Mascarita Dorada, Mascarita Sagrada, Psicosis, Ricky Marvin, and Super Muñeco. -
DDP despite not being someone I'm considering but, it is very impressive that he proabably had Sting and Randy Savage's best post NWO match. Also having Goldberg's best traditional match (I have seen). Even the silly David Arqueette stuff wouldn't would be worse without Jeff Jarrett (whose making my list) and DDP. It also says alot about DDP that he connected to pepole so much that he was the first WCW Nitro homegrown they gave the ball even when Hogan was there (I don't count Goldberg really). It also says alot his charisma that my mom says the only shape I knew as a baby was the diamond. His has fun enough WWE work despite the company working almost entirely working against his strengths. If you count wrestling matches in movies as a case builder the Jimmy King in Ready to Rumble matches are fun. (maybe the best movie wrestling match, I have seen), He adapted to his opponents. To me his case feels like a better promo/character and worse bell to bell wrestler than The Rock.

There's three AJPW Kings Road era wrestlers I am currently voting for Kobashi, Taue, and Kikuchi (hope to watch and maybe learn more). I'm once again thinking about how based it is that two most Tsuyoshi Kikuchi matches. are him teaming are him with Kenta Kobashi vs. The Cam-Am Express and the bread match with Ken Ohka. Both great matches! The 6/1/91 and 5/25/92 CanAms vs. Kobashi/Kikuchu ade my GME list too (1991 ranked at 76. 1992 ranked at 6). I value spark alot in ranking a wrestler and Kikuchi brought alot of spark.

I think going favorites based is important. I think going favorites with that can be justified with critical lense (range, longevity, how well they made their opponents look, spark they brought to their matches, how they made the voter feel, etc) is the way to go. Completely abandoning favorites in favor of wrestlers that "objectively great" can lead to pepole doing votes "I don't enjoy watching this wrestler wrestle but, I am voting for them because they are objectively great" which I feel is bad and against to spirit of this list.
