  1. I don't think they will comp tickets. I think there will be just enough people who will purchase tickets to be a part of the "event". This isn't your typical ECW house show. As a WWF sponsored show, everyone and their mother will probably tune in just to see what the fuss is about. Remember, absence makes the heart grow fonder, and those who are still clouded by the ECW mystique will gladly shell out the cash to be part of the event.
  2. No, I iddn;t tape it. I completely forgot. I was looking forward to it all week and missed it.
  3. You just listed the Harts, Rockers and Demolition... three of the most beloved tag teams of the time period. I listed Eddy, Brock, Benoit... three of the most praised wrestlers in their era. If you put Show up against those three for a year straight, we would all be calling Show the best big man in history. I think Arn is a fine wrestler but his impact is meaningless compared to what Show has done. Hell, Show has been in some of the worst angles known to man but he still comes out of it as a credible force. Hell, most people voted for JBL based on one match. This is nuts.
  4. Greg Valentine
  5. Even then, the good-decent matches for Show have been spaced far apart. Good matches with Brock, Eddy, Benoit, etc. And I can fault Arn's tag run. If he had to rely on the tag formula the whole time then his full potential wasn't realized and therefore it hurts his case in this tournament. And I am baffled, you are arguing about the guy with one really strong year vs. the guy with several bad years but a decent run and you voted for Matt Hardy over Steamboat?
  6. Dynamite Kid- I couldn;t really go by this WWF run so I thought about going back 5 years in their careers and Dynamite would have still won.
  7. Ricky Steamboat- This shouldn't even be close. Hardy's singles run was underwhelming match-wise even with the V1 gimmick. Steamboat had the better matches, ran with better angles. No contest.
  8. WHY DO YOU PUNISH ME SO???? Tito Santana
  9. BIg Red Machine- If the bracket was Jake v. kane and Hardy v. Goldust, we could have rid ourselves of two slugs in one round.
  10. Jake the Snake Roberts -His heel run in the late 80s was great... Feuds with Seamboat, Savage, and Andre. -His middle run where he was in the 6 man tag at MAnia was forgettable from the footage I have seen. -His 1996 run is the sole reason Austin 3:16 became a household catchphrase.
  11. And according to Tim, Big Show v. Eddy from SD! was a WWE MOTYC. For every Brainbusters match you list, I could probably list a decent Big Show match. Even then, I will always give more credit to the single star than the tag team guy since I think the tag team formula makes it easier to have a good tag match than a good singles match. Show me the many good Arn WWF singles matches and I'll gladly change my vote.
  12. Booker T Despite being put in underwhelming roles and a gloifed jobber to the stars, Booker gets the nod for his ability to remain over, not unlike Jericho, despite being buried time and time again.
  13. Big Show- For a slug his size, he has had some amazingly good matches, showing he is more than able to work and be carried. Arn's run was decent, but the Brainbusters were just one of many tag teams in an era full of memorable tag teams. No doubt, Arn had the better career... but if Arn had only wrestled in the WWF, and we didn't know anything about his NWA/WCW run, most people wouldn't even be giving him consideration on this list.
  14. Sgt. Slaughter- Val is incredibly bland. Slaughter uses the word "maggots". No contest.
  15. Sid- You have to give it up to a guy who craps his tights on the biggest show of the year.
  16. Rey Mysterio Jr. - Rude is the ultimate heel . Rey is the ultimate face. Rey's most mediocre stuff is far better than the best Rude WWF matches.
  17. Rotunda -I want to say Jannetty is the better wrestler but anything that was memorable from him is due solely to HBK. If it wasn't the Rockers tag team, it was the break-up feud. Even then, Jannetty dropped the ball and never had any impact. I also prefer the Windham-Rotunda tag team to the Rockers. It is just the way I roll.
  18. BUt.. but ... but.. .TAKA is EVIL~! But who am I kidding? Jericho
  19. I'm going with Backlund also. For as many pushes and attempts to get Jarrett over, and to fail as many times as he did, I am not giving this guy anything. Backlund
  20. To be honest, I have only seen Orton in a few matches and he hasn't impressed me. Any heat he generated last year is thanks to Foley. Smash
  21. Bam Bam Bigelow -He was def. the superior worker. His main event at Mania was more impressive, IMO, because of the fact he had a watchable match with a celebrity. I really haven't seen any celbrity wrestling matches worth a darn. Also, Warrior is a big name but if you voted against Diesel, there is no way you can vote for Warrior since Warrior was an unquestionable failure when he had the ball.
  22. I was too busy watching the NBA playoffs and completely forgot about SD! Did anyone watch it and what did you think of the street fight?
  23. What moves did TAKA do that HHH bump well for? What did they do? What stops did they pull out to make this so exciting? Dude, you know I am not one to criticize your writing. I just felt this was the one review that stood out where I didn't know where you were going because too many details were left out. Sorry.
  24. I don't want play-by-play but exactly what happened in the match? I just rremember TAKA getting in a dropkick from the top-rope. That is my entire recollection of this match.
  25. What happened to Sting v. Vampiro?
