NOTICE.... if you have Eddie Gilbert, he is only on tour from 10/7 to 10/14. It could make a big difference if you are in the middle of a feud or need him in matches.

So.... Georgia is opposed to the big closed circuit event that could generate hundreds of thousands in revenue... maybe even reach 1 million dollars. Instead, you would like to give away main events for free across the nation killing box office?
-
I was wondering when somebody was going to notice But think about it... no footage 32 years later... all because of the lack of foresight from the Georgia office Starrcade #1.... pristine HD.

How do you address the concerns that your cable TV may screw up potential long term goals of the territories by presenting local heroes as heels and local villains as babyfaces on the screen? Your attempt to showcase everyone from the NWA could be the downfall to all of the territories that thrive on local market television? Also, Mr. Crockett is presenting a supershow the likes that has never been seen before. He has already sent memos about this new endeavor called closed circuit television that will allow people to pay for the big show at the arena AND at home... progressive beyond measure. In response, Georgia would refuse fans this.... No wonder Tommy Rich left the territory!!! You left money on the table!!!

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
goodhelmet replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
I wouldn't mind seeing a talent infusion in ROH. -
From the desk of Dory Funk Jr.: Mr. Baba accepts this offer and looks forward to working with you to develop the characters of Hata and Sugawara.
-
Do you want me to change it to Fred Ward?
-
No doubt. You have been clear with your goals.

From the offices of Giant Baba, courtesy of Dory Funk Jr.... To all North American promotions... These veterans are suffering from a lack of charisma and need a redesign. they all have the technical skills to succeed but have not captured the hearts of the Japanese public. The honorable Baba is willing to give you Hata or Sugawara for a minimum of four months to develop character work to help them connect to the crowd. The Momota brothers will also be handed over for four months but are needed as a package team to help strengthen our tag division. The honorable Baba is hoping to implement the program the middle of September until the end of December as all four wrestlers are booked until then. If the redesign is successful, all of the wrestlers are in line for a push. You may rename the wrestlers, create new monikers as well as implement new gear. this is not a program where I need veterans to train them. All are capable in the ring. I am looking for a creative mind to help elevate them in the eyes of the fan. Certain names like "Ninja" or "Kamikaze" or will not get over in Japan and would not be positives for this project. However, all non-racial, creative ideas will be considered. Rocky Hata (began 1972) - 6'4 , lanky, ugly, should probably wear a mask. Uses a neckbreaker as a signature move. Background in sumo but wrestles a technical style. Nobuyoshi Sugawara (began 1979) - 6'0 solid, athletic. Uses the blockbuster neckbreaker as well as backflips in the ring. Yoshihiro Momota (began c.1975) - 5'10 230lbs. Son of Rikidozan. He was trained by Pat O Connor and the Funks. Mitsuo Momota (began 1970) - 5'8 lightweight. Looks older than he is. Son of Rikidozan. He wrestles a technical style, not afraid to bleed or brawl but can also fly. Trademark moves include Backdrop, Tope Suicida, Powerbomb, Samson Clutch - These brothers are a package deal as All Japan is trying to shore up its tag division.

Never forget.... never seen....

Oh, and the fact that the Last Battle for Atlanta was never filmed is a grievance I simply can't and won't forgive.

If Ric Flair doesn't get voted on as the NWA Champion, it doesn't matter if Flair is in MACW or not. Hell, we are only imagining the belt will change hands at Starrcade. Running Japan, I don't care who the champion is. I really would like people to make argumets why they should be President. So far, it feels like a vote on the PWO member, not the person running for President.

Ventura is one of the worst singles wrestlers alive. I bet he eats 1983 Bret alive. Having said that, Ventura in a tag team would be fine.
-
We don't know anything about Bob Geigel and Paul Jones except that they are ancient. That is the only thing that has been brought forward. We are old and respected. That has been the entire argument so far.

If Flair isn't one of the 2 finalists then it means that most of the people in this project want another direction for the champion. I anticipate he will be one of the finalists. If he isn't, it means the majority of people want to move in another direction. That is why we vote. Shit... the only reason the Thanksgiving special is called Starrcade is because Beast decided to keep Starrcade. HE could have called it the Song of the South and it would still be the big Thanksgiving show. If Flair and Race face off at the Song of the South Thanksgiving Show for the World title it will be because he booked it for his show and the title change was approved by this board. If not, the project will move forward with a new champ with a new dynamic.
-
The reason for the NWA board, voting etc. is to reconsider all past decisions. Flair very well may still get the belt at Starrcade but we get to make that decision and that is part of the fun.
-
Lets revisit the idea in 5 months.
-
Once we have the final vote for NWA President, we'll vote for the next NWA champion. We'll need to narrow the choices down to the top two contenders and then decide on how to drop the belt.
-
Man, that guy looks old... and out of touch... in the 1970s!!!
-
I don't like the idea of an entire redraft either.
-
That is why the discussion is still open. It hasn;t been resolved yet.

Toronto abandoning long term partner JCP is improbable at this point and garbage.

We're breaking kayfabe. You can't write a dirt sheet without dirt.

OK, I added everyone who would have been a traditional member from the link Kris gave or who indicated they wanted to be a member (Parv, JHawk, dawho). If I messed up, let me know. If any candidate reaches 9 votes, that would be a majority. No need for a runoff election. If nobody reaches 9 votes, the people who selected the candidate with the least amount of votes would have to recast their vote for the top 2 candidates. Is the AWA and Southwest the only 2 non-NWA members???? .
